Resort we were told had only about 60% of it hotels open
To get to the nightlife you'll need to get a taxi about $10 or bus about & peso's the buses stop at about 11pm during low season and are not 24hours like our rep said as we ended up walking back at 4am one morning. Went to Coco Bongo and the City both were good.
Only went on two trip once to the xcaret nature reserve this was excellent we did the swim in the underground river, and the snorkel tour ($20) guide had a bottle of fish food and would get loads of fish swimming about you, we were also luckily enough so see a turtle as well.
The over trip was a catamaran to dolphin discovery on the island opposite Isla Mujeres it was an all inclusive day drink on the boat, another snorkel tour, dropped anchor at a fab beach for an hour, then a tour round the island on 4 seater golf carts. Then back to boat for lunch and sail to Dolphin discovery more food and drink there and swim with the dolphins which was fantastic.
Loads of places to eat we tried Pericos in Downtown very entertaining night the waiters get people up dancing. On our last night we ate in the Luga Grill nice setting but we were the only ones in there by the end of the night, we sat on the deck only to be joined by a crocodile in the water below us which made our night.
Would definitely go back again 1 week was ok but would go for two weeks next time

Very good we were there just after the the resort was getting back on its feet after the hurricane last year. Our hotel was fine although a few of them were nowhere near being finished.

For a very poor country the resort is very clean they are always tiding the beaches and keeping them to a high standard and the mexicans are the friendliest people you could hope to meet.

Cancun had a very bad hurricane in October 05 and we were worried about going to the resort after reading about the devistion, however the resort was very good, not perfect, but very good. lots of repairing of paths, trees, some (not all) hotels/club etc which are now nearing 100%. The beach at the hotel was beautiful, soft white sand, turquiose sea and a belting view of Isla Mujeres and nearby hotels. You could'nt hear any building noise at all.
If you have any doubts about going then dont!

After going to Cancun in February, me and my husband intend to never holiday anyweher else but Cancun again. It is the most beautiful place, with the friendliest of people.
When I first arrived, having only holidayed in Europe before I could not believe the colour of the sea, to see it is to believe it.
Most of the beaches are beautiful, although some are still damaged due to the hurricaine.
The amount of bars in vast. Be sure to go to Coco Bongo's and Senor Frogs especially.

Visited 12 weeks after that hurricane, so there was still alot of rebuilding going on, less that half the hotels open and quarter the bars, hence untidy with glass and builders materials.
The beach was superb. Very fine white sand and a warm blue sea, only down side the waves are very strong, one bowled me & Bev over and we lost our best sunglasses, so don't be a poser like me.

I can't really say much about the resort, because we only left the hotel to do two excursions, but it seemed very nice. We heard that the beach was amazing, and it seemed pretty clean. I do have one comment though. If you are going to go swimming with the Dolphins, I would recommend you do it at Parque Nizuc and not Dolphin Discovery. This is because; it was cheaper here, the DVD was cheaper, and we were allowed to take our underwater cameras with us, which you couldn't at Dolphin Discovery. This resulted in us, just buying the DVD, and not having to buy two of their pictures, instead we had a whole films worth. It is also closer, and the things that you get to do with the dolphins doesn't sound that much different.
