This hotel is not The Ritz but is good value with a great location, only spoilt by the fact that the staff allow people to smoke in the rooms and corridors and do nothing about it, also if you sit in reception you share a cigarette with a staff member about every 15 minutes as they smoke at the rear door and it just vents through the reception area.
This is a great base to explore and you are close to the beach, The Old Town, Monchique etc, you can relax and chill out or go to where the English lay drunk in the streets around 11 pm each night on The Strip.

After booking holiday on the net I decided to look on Holidaytruths.
After reading some of the reports I was dreading the holiday, I took my own sheets and pillow cases with me. What a pleasant surprise I had when we got there, we were given room 016 on the ground floor it was basic no TV or anything but lovely and clean white sheets and towels.
We were B/B and every morning at 9am they came to our room with our breakfast.
Nothing to much trouble for them, we asked for clean towels and were given them at once,
The hotel was in ideal location both for the beach and the strip. Would definitely go back. We were 3 adults in a 1 bedroom apartment and no complaints.

The room smelt very musty, dirty sheets, dirty toilet brush, a very mouldy and smelly shower curtain no bed change for the whole two weeks of our stay and the room was only cleaned once. We also had to ask for clean towels.
The hotel was in a great location very near the gorgeous beaches and near the famous strip.
The staff were very nice and polite but couldn't fulfill the needs i.e. decent accommodation, there was no entertainment on site but didn't bother us as there was plenty to do elsewhere. I definetely would not go to this hotel ever and I am also writing an official complaint to the booking agent.

These apartments were awful. The apartment was small and very dirty.(The toilet brush, towels and bed linen were dirty, the fridge, shower curtain and ceiling were mouldy, the tile were ingrained with dirt)The rooms are in drastic need of a refurbishment.
We had no sun on our balcony at any time as surrounding apartments block out this apartment block. There was no sun on the hotel pool from afternoon onwards.
There were many dangers such as the daily flood from someones shower into reception, pitch black corridors with steps lifts with no doors.
The staff were friendly but unable to meet any requests that we had.
The only good thing about these apartments is location.
This hotel should definitely not be rated as a 3 star, but a 1 star.

The location is unquestionably the biggest selling poing of Ourasol Apartments. It is situated within a 2 minute walk (downhill) of the wonderful Prai da Oura beach and a similar walk (uphill) to the Strip.
On arrival, we were given Room 102 which was not particularly nice. The room smelt of damp, the fridge door wouldn't shut and the smoke alarm was hanging off the ceiling. Also, it was opposite the laundry cupboard which was constantly open and full of dirty sheets.
Following an immediate complaint we were given Room 103. This was infinitely better but no palace. It was much cleaner and more homely; something that you didn't mind staying in. It also had a big L-shaped balcony overlooking the outside pool.
My overall feeling was that the reception area had been modernised, but the rooms had remained largely untouched. They need gutting and an overhaul. The floors may be clean, but they don't look it. Even notwithstanding the 3* status, a little modernisation and gutting would make these apartments very appealing and value-for-money.
The reception staff were very friendly and helped us with directions, general queries etc.
There is no entertainment in the complex - they don't have much room. There is a nice pool, albeit it is not the biggest one in the world and it does get quite busy from an early time in the morning. However, it is regularly cleaned; I witnessed the manager himself out there very morning from about 8.00 a.m.
