Location
The hotel has a great location. Situated between Old town and the Strip and both of these are within walking distance. A taxi stance is nearby if you do want to go by taxi (cost around 3.25 either way). Turn left when you come out of the hotel to go to the huge supermarket Modelo and cross the road for Pingo Doce another large sueprmarket. Plenty of shops/bars/restaurants nearby.
There is an indoor swimming poolin Paraiso and a small jacuzzi which we used the first week as the weather wasnt too good. However, that improved the 2nd week and we had lovely warm sunny days. We were able to sit by the pool most days and even swam in the pool.
Breakfast in hotel was quite expensive at 8 euros but if you want an english breakfast loads of places do this for around 3 euros. Hotel restaurant had theme nights which were advertised in reception and in all the lifts. This included Chinese/Indian/Pasta and Salad buffet, Carvery buffet all served at a good price. Also drinks offers available every night.
Safe in room cost us 35 euros for 2 weeks. The hotel has laundry facilities, tokens available from reception. Internet available in reception area, coin operated, 1 euro for 10 mins.
Courtesy bus available to go to Old Town and Beach but we found that the driver wasnt very punctual! On a few occasions we were left waiting for up to 20 mins.
However, we would have no hesitation in going back.

The pool area was lovely, the pool was huge but too cold to use.Kids used the indoor pool but you do need a swim hat.The weather was gorgeous even though it was only February although it was jeans and jackets in the evening. The hotel had its own entertainments team who organised activities during the day like darts, rifle shooting, boules etc.
We didn't eat at the hotel so cant comment on the food. The staff in the bar were very good. There was a happy hour between 6 and 7 o clock every day then they had special offers on beer, wine, soft drinks and local spirits after 9pm.
The hotel has its own courtesy bus which went between the Old Town, the Paraiso and its sister hotel in Balaia. We used this most days to go to Praia da oura beach and olhos de aqua beach. There were still alot of shops and restaurants closed for the winter buy we found plenty of places to eat.Our favourite was Don Capito, gorgeous food.
Albufeira is one of our favourite holiday places and a great place for a winter break to recharge the batteries. We will definitely book the Paraiso again.

All inclusive drinks finish at 23.00
No hairdriers in the rooms. You`ve got to go to reception to hire one(if there are any left)which there wasn`t.Pay 15 euros which is returned when you leave. It will cost you 25 euros to hire an iron which is also retuned as you leave.
The meals were very poor most of the time it was cold.It costs 11 euros for a glass of wine and a beer.

Pool- very big pool kid-friendly. Nobody in our complex had to book a sun-lounger or pay or get up at 5 am. But we did go in october. Freezing but refreshing on a hot day. Didnt go in the indoor pool needed a cap and it was very small and dominated by kids on inflatables.
Lunch - Mixed opinions on this one. vegetarian says not good but rest say is okay. not a great variety but the pool-side snack bar is much better. The ice-cream was delicious.
Day time entertainment - we were never bored. The team kept us busy all day with the quiz, skittles, basketball, pool, water aerobics, funny group activities, kickball rounders, crazy golf, table tennis, darts, french boules, and exclusive events which gave you access to certain activities that you would normally have to pay for.
Evening Meal - not a great variety again nice soup but on the whole not great.
Evening entertainment - This was second to nothing! Highlight of the holiday for sure. The team of two guys and two girls kept the kids going from 8-9 with dizzy and shades super skakedown with dance routines , games and catchy tunes! The from 9 - 10.15 there was a kids competiton and an adult game such as egg heads etc and an awards for the presentation of certifcates and t-shirts won by guests through-out the day. It was fierce competition and great fun!!At 10.15 there was a show such as a panto, kareoke, mock pop idol , deal or no deal etc, etc. which entertained the whole family!
Couldnt fault this amazing hotel except the food which was a disappointment.
Would definitely reccomend it but avoid the food at all costs..unles you're a 5 year old who loves pizza and chips and ice-cream!

I was Starting to get a bit worried after reading some of the reviews on here.
The food was good my oldest boy is the fussiest eater i know and even he ate something at every mealtime
The entertainment was good something going on around the pool in the day kids club and entertainment in the bars of an evening.
The only complaint I could make about the place was that people were getting up before 6am to go down and reserve sunbeds with towels and the most annoying thing being that some of the people that reserved them didnt even come down to the pool area

Spotlessly clean & rooms same, very spacious & air con fab in the rooms.
Huge hotel with brill entertainers for kids - kids club was great my little girl (6) LOVED IT.
Beds were pathetic people getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve them.
We were self catering however the prices of food and drink in the hotel was disgraceful

Full English you will NOT get but there is always beans bacon omelette and toast. also cereals fruits ham cheese yoghurt's. We even had sausages one day. Lunch could be taken here as well.
Again Lot's to choose from from 3 course meal to salada. Snack bar provided baguettes, burgers (lovely) and hot dogs as well as pizza.
Ice cream you could even get in a cone. Not many do this on A/I! evening meal taken down in restaurant in basement but it is very nice. Buffet consisting of about 3 diff choices.
I think anyone could find something they liked. We loved it. Very big hotel but you soon find your way around.
Entertainment by tc ent team good. Always something going on in the daytime. My son (9) went to kids club a few times and loved it.
Evening ent by t/c ent team good as well. Hotel was quite full of families with young kids and mini disco was right up their street.
Evening shows didn't start until 10.15 but by this time we were ready for our beds so can't comment on adult ent. I am happy to answer any questions anyone might have.
