Sorry about the delay in posting been very busy so here goes.
We read a few reports when we went and were very optimistic to say the least but we were not disappointed we got a room with a sea view and what a view we got. It was on the left hand side of the hotel overlooking the small beach which when we used it didn

Food repetitive. The cleanliness lift something to be desired. With a disgusting smell from the wardrobe. A leak in the ceiling near the door which left a rusty pool of water on the floor.
A constant drone from some motors beneath our room meant we could not sleep at night
On the second day a hole had been cut in the corridor ceiling for some maintenance work and stayed there for the duration of the holiday.
Had to move on the third day just to get some sleep and where put in a very small room for four
The corridors where very badly lit
Entertainment was appalling

The hotel, whilst not ultra modern, was clean and the rooms were furnished well. Certainly not as basic as some hotels. The public areas of the hotel were immaculate and our room was cleaned and tidied every day. The air conditioning worked. The bathroom needed refurbishing - the room had a suspended ceiling, which, due to lack of ventilation or extractor fan in the bathroom, had started to go a bit rusty. However, there was constant hot water and the shower was powerful. The bathroom was cleaned daily. The room was adequately sized and there was just about enough storage for the four of us. However, we pack light!

The room had 4 single beds in it, which made it quite cramped, but as we spent all day on the beach it was only used for sleeping in.

We had a small balcony - with lovely sea views. Not enough chairs for us all but we tended not to use the balcony much as it was too small for 4 people. Could have done with a clothes airer to dry the towels on.

The food was excellent - everyone in our family has different tastes so one person could have chips, another could have salad and another pasta. There were different meats and fish available every day at both lunch and dinner. There were always hot and cold choices, lots of salads, the only criticism was that there weren't many vegetables. Tinned carrots and peas, deep fried battered Broccoli!!, Sprouts. Would have been nice to have a few different things although one day we had roasted peppers, aubergine and courgette which were great - shame only put on one day.

There was a Spanish themed evening and an Italian themed evening in the restaurant - with sprouts again. The Italian evening lacked pizza. The Spanish Paella was fantastic.

The desserts were OK, some cakes, mousses, jelly things, always fruit available. Only criticisms - no fresh fruit salad - I had to construct my own - no cream to pour on aforementioned fruit salad - and we never got strawberries.

The kids could eat ice cream every meal. You could choose either to eat in the air conditioned dining room - a little dimly lit and quite busy with guests. Or on the terrace under a big straw roof for shade - fantastic sea views and fresh air.

The hotel location couldn't be faulted - a few steps away from the beaches on either side. The hotel outdoor pool was a little small and airless in the afternoon but with all that sea to swim in who needs chlorinated water!

The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. They worked very hard be it replenishing the food, clearing tables or serving in the bar. We got chatting with most of them (it helps my husbands speaks Spanish) and they were trying to teach him some Catalan words. We were often asked if the food was OK.

The only criticism was that one evening when my youngest daughter fell asleep in the room causing us all to be locked out - reception handed me another key without asking me anything except my room number - I could have been anyone.

The entertainment was mixed. Mini disco at 8.30 pm with games for the little ones. Bingo then either an act - we saw Brazilian dancers, and Irish singer (not too good) and a Bee Gees tribute. On some nights the reps (and kids) put on a show miming to music etc which was not really that great - but the reps made up for it with their enthusiasm for the task.

Most people spent all evening on the terrace - drinks were available as part of the all inclusive package. I never saw anyone worse for wear. Everyone enjoyed themselves without any anti social behaviour - contrary to the Brits Abroad image.

The hotel was lovely with loads of activities I am 17 and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Apart from drinking every night, I joined in the shows. The etertainment staff were great well done to them. Unfortunatly, one of them enjoyed himself too much often working with a hangover.

The cleaning ladies coudln't speak English and kept waking me up, they only cleaned the room once as the other times me and my sister were asleep. They would come in at 10, and start speaking Spanish at you.

The bar closed early (at 12) but there were two bars near, open till 2. One Spanish (Marines) and one British (Trotters).

There was a kids club for the younger children and they all enjoyed it. This is a great holiday for active people or for people with kids, who want to relax without the kids but stil bring them.

I would love to go again but next year I am hoping to go as a holiday entertainer myself.

I took a late deal here last year staying all inclusive. I was allocated to the Hotel Simca beside the Dom Pedro which was less convenient but okay. Accommodation was sound except the balcony wall was high and you could not sit and see and the view but obviously very good if you have small children. There are a lot of steps and the resort is mall and hilly. The hotel is on the sea front jutting out into a small cove. There is only a very small beach. The water is full of rocks which made access fro swimming difficuly but cove very good for snorkling. Food was good and service also fine. I had some difficulty about the free drinks as I was using the hotel Simcar bar and they said I had to pay. After some debate they agreed to give it to me free and charge the Dom Pedro. I had a good holiday and could sunbathe on the terraces near my hotel -not too busy. pool was very busy and mostly families staying. I had good peace and quiet and there was some music at night. In the Dom Pedro there was a good children's club and more entertainment in the evening. Overall for a cheap holiday it was fine. Watch out for wasps near the bar.

The Don Pedro is situated in fantastic little Cove that is brillant for snorkling. The Picture and write up in the borchour is not truthful about the Hotel. Entertainment area was not cleaned on a daily basis and attracted more flies and swaps than you could swat. The quality of the food was very poor and repetitive. The area surrounding the outdoor pool had the aroma of sewage when passing. I was not lucky enough to be in the main Hotel, there is a Annex with more than 100 stairs leading to it, no air conditioning and no fans in the rooms. We did receive 2 small fans after the first day by requesting for them at Reception. A good point for the Hotel was the Bar Staff, they provided a Very Good Service throughout our holiday even during a Power outage which lasted 5 hours. The Entertainment throughout the Days was appalling and a few members of the Entertainment Team could have put in more effort by being there on the times that are stated on the notices throughout the Hotel. The Holiday wasn't a complete downer, we managed to find our way about the Island and spent days away which lead to more cost than we had planned for.
