Beaches

The main beach is a brown sand beach with green/blue water. The first part of the water is often brown from sea weed and the floor can be rocky in some places. There are some (jelly)fish to be seen if you like to go snorkling. Hotels and bars line the beach which is about 3/4km long. To the right of the beach and along the back of it there are shopping streets which are spaced apart. Most of the shops sell tourist stuff and booze. There is a pharmacy up the hill towards the back of the town. The bars during my stay seemed mostly empty but I am sure this changes in high season. Most bars are english themed and furthre out of the town there is a nightclub. At the same place as the outdoor night area for the youth, a hippy market takes place. This is a mass of market traders (some actuall hippies) gathered together in close proximity seeling their stuff. Most of it is bangles and ball-balls and one store blends into the next, of course there are plenty of traders selling 'gen-uine ronex' watches and knock-off sunglasses. All in all I liked the resort but felt it was too small and I got bored with the shops in less than a week.

Es cana not to busy during the day , except for hippy market day, spoilt for choice at nite but charlie,s seems to be the most popular with live music every nite. Easy to get around as feries are regular and so are buses.

The resort has everything needed for a great holiday. And is only a 5 minute walk from the hippy market.

Es Cana is a very quite resort. It's only small but there are plenty of boat trips available for days out. The night life is very good. We went with our 6 yr old daughter and there are two funfairs so she had plenty to do of a night. Most of the hotels there allow non residents in so we used to check the entertainment boards find a show we wanted to see and we could go in to the hotel and enjoy the show. Nearly all the bars and restaurants are very child friendly and cater for the children while you enjoy a meal and a drink. I highly recommend Es Cana it is the most relaxing holiday resort I have ever visited.

The bus from Es Cana to Sant Euluria costs €1.05 for adults, and the ferry between the two places costs €6.50 return (€3.50 one way).
Glass Bottom boat is recommended which goes out for an hour and takes in a wreck near the rocks the cost of this is €6.50 for adults and €3.50 for kids.
Bars worth a visit in Es Cana are Do Drop Inn, Rio's Showbar, Montomar Bar (next to hotel), Charlies (bit expensive), Popeye's, Cocoon Bar (with childrens playground next to it), Dawn Allen's Millenium Bar (€2 for a cocktail before midnight).
Hippy Market is a waste of time, its expensive and has all the sterotypical sunglasses sellers - you know who I mean the ones who used to walk around the bars at night!!

The resort was very clean and a nice resort, but it was very small and quiet, and by the end of a week there was nothing to do, because you had done it all already. There were plenty of bars and restaurants, but we didnt go in many as we had paid for all inclusive in the hotel. The beaches were clean and there were watersports avaiolable there. A nice family resort, but a little too small for my liking.
