The hotel is very clean, towels changed daily, bed linen changed as well. The rooms are not very big and I should imagine a large person could struggle to get into the room as there is not a lot of space between the fridge and the bathroom wall. The fridge and the safe require a refundable 10 euro deposit. The air conditioning was noisey. Once switched on it was on for two hours and would switch off automatically. You could not switch it off! It sounded like a world war two bomber droning away in the corner of the room. I should imagine a light sleeper may be kept awake at night with its noise. You had to have it on or it became vey hot in the room.
The food was very good with plenty of choice, vegitarians catered for. Never used the swimming pool though it looked clean you could see the staff cleaning it every morning, I preferred to swim in the very clear sea and relax on the two very nice beaches, though I did get stung by a jellyfish. All the hotel staff I came into contact with were very friendly and spoke good English. The Kids' entertainment team were first class-very hard working.
The hotel's location is at the top of a steep hill and once you had got down to the beach if you wanted to go over to the main square you had to go across the beach and up another steep hill. The buses arrive and depart from the square. Portinaxt is not a night club sort of resort it is more for families and people who want to unwind and relax during their holiday. I thouroughly enjoyed the week I spent at the Presidente Hotel though I did not like the two steep hills and any one with mobility problems is likely to struggle with them.

The restaurant is lovely, very spacious and clean, lovely setting and the food is out of this world, if there is no food you like i would be very surprised, they will accomodate you regardless....kids food is great, real sausage and burgers, fish fingers...kids can eat from adult buffet too and vice versa. Baby food is available, as are bibs and high chairs, microwave for bottles etc....this is available 24/7.
The staff are soooo helpfull, rep's on thomson desk arranged for us a special treat for our wedding anniversary, flowers, champagne and a cake....all free. We used the kids club and creche and all the staff put their heart and soul into giving all the kids a great time....all the paintings, colouring that our baby did was put into a lovely folder for us to take home at the end of the holiday...well worth the kids going to these clubs as it gives them a break from the sun and all kids areas are air conditioned.
As for the entertainment staff......i cannot put into words how hard these guys work, monkey boy adam, tweety and ducky are the heart of this hotel and certainly made our stay extra special....listen out for big fish....great.
There is a shop below the hotel which sells everything, nappies, wipes cosmetics etc, also a doctor is on hand.
We went on a trip called family premier sailing, this was well worth the money, lovely beaches and a bar b q....we took both our girls age 8 and 2 and they loved it and ate well....drinks are on tap too....quality drinks too not cheap stuff.
this was our second visit and we have already booked for 2008. that to me, says it all.

The food was lovely wth lots of choice.
When you go to the beach you have to go down "cardiac hill"which is exactly as it says. Alright going down but coming up is a struggle!
The entertainment is good, the usual superfamily entertainment, but there were lots of singers and they get a bit repetative.
The water park attached to the hotel El Greco is ideal for families.Although it is free for the people at the hotel El Greco as they are all inclusive it is still worth a visit as we paid 6 euros per child and 12 euros per adult and if you just like a few water slides and dont bother about massive rides then this is for you. Also if some of your party do not want to go on the slides or swim then you do not have to pay for that person. You get a wrist band so the lifeguards can identify who should be in the water or not.
Beach was lovely with the clearest water we have ever seen. We even took bread down to feed the fish as they came right up to us, big and small, and took the bread out of our hands, the sea was warm to swim in too. We would definitely go again.

The food was excellent and the restaurant staff were very polite and helpful.
Our 2 children spent many ours at both the kids clubs and drop in and enjoyed every minute all the children reps do a fantastic job.
But I must say the 2 people that really make things special at this hotel are the fantastic 'Monkey boy and Tweety'we have been on several super family hoildays and I can honestly say theses two are exceptional at what they do.
The hotel is situated in a quite part of th island as are all super family hotels with the idea being that you stay on iste.
the drinks are quite expnsive as there is no competion and you have to pay the asking price.
But dont be put off by this I think this is the best super family holiday we have had.

First thing to say is that I have never been anywhere where so many people have returned - loads of people had been there at least once before - so a good start.
The hotel cleanliness is faultless from the room cleaning, the public areas and also the outside pool and play areas.
Food is very good and always with such a large selection that we always found something to our taste. The restaurant staff are efficient and very friendly.
The location was OK - its only a small resort so everything is within a max 15 minute walk - the main square with bars and restaurants was down the hill, across the beach and up another hill (5mins) or alternatively you can walk to the right from the hotel entrance and take a longer (15min) walk which is much less hilly. For me the location was OK, two beaches within 5 mins.
The hotel staff were always helpul and friendly with British Emma on reception always excellent.
The Thomson staff also very good and enthusiastic, the entertainment was I would say average for a super family holiday ( I have now been on 6 of them) - Adam (Monkey Boy) is fantastic - the rest of them as I say I would describe as avarage.
Our room was 116 which overlooked the park and was close to the evening outisde entertainment on the first floor so into late evenong there was kids from about 3 to teenage age who could be heard from the park and of course the entertainment was loud when our toddler was going to bed at about 9pm - however I did not have an issue with that.
The problem we did have was that for the first few nights the big plastic little tyke toys (eg plastic ride on cars, motorbikes and peddle cart) were out and the kids enjoyed riding them down the slope from the park and then spinning them right below our balcony and this scared our little one. To be fair this was mentioned to the hotel staff and thomson reps and after the second night of reminding them and requesting the toys are locked up that is what they did and the issue disappeared.
Overall this was a great holiday and I would recommend the Presidente to anyone looking for a good family hotel and who dont mind a walk back from the beach up a short but a severe hill.

the resort its self was breath taking we had an amazing chilled out holiday. The only bad thing was coming home and back to the grindstone!! just which I was still there.

The food couldn't fault it always a good variety, cold sometimes could have done with being abit warmer though.
The location was not very good not much to do at all but its ok for a quiet time with young children not recommended for the 11 to 16s very boring for them.
The entertainment on site was ok but seen better not very entertaining at all for older children didnt seem to involve them in much more for the younger ones 3 to 9.
If I visited the hotel again it would have to be just as a couple so we could hire a car to get around, you do need a car or its very hard for getting around bit boring really.
But couldn't fault the hotel only very steep for prams and elderly.
