Location
The hotel was kept immaculate and all the staff we incredibly helpful.
The rooms were of a good size and the air conditioning was a big plus. They also offer some great services such as Beach towel rental and cooler rental. Pay a deposit for each towel and you can change them as often as you like. Then get your deposit on the towels return. No need to take beach towels on holiday and you don't see a hotel with towels draped over the balcony's!!
The Thomson staff were also very helpful. The entertainment staff ensured that the evenings were fun. One of the best evenings entertainment was that of Frankie Reilly. What a superb all round family entertainer!!! Could have watched him every evening.
With regards to the hill, yes this is the most direct route to the beach, but if you are heading for the mail square and have the time for a more leisurely walk then follow the mail road. Then is an excellent footpath and is not so hard on the legs.
Food was excellent and a great variety to chose from. Also given that it was so hot the air conditioning was needed.
Whilst it was the height of season, one thing I found frustrating was that people would "reserve" sunbeds. The hotel rule is not to reserve sunbeds with your towel before 8.30. Yet one morning the were over 30 beds reserved before 7.15!!! So in the end followed the old saying of "if you cant beat them....join them".
Also people were taking inflatable boats into the pool. Whilst the pool is a good size, once you have a few of these boats in there it is a little cramped. Not good for young children who have yet to find their confidence in the water.
Great children's playgrounds, as well as a soft play area for the younger children.
The only big negative I found in this holiday was the vastly over priced excursions. We decided to take the two eldest children to the waterpark, whilst the youngest child stayed with the grandparents. The cost was 30 Euro's per adult and 18 Euro's per child. Yet park entrance was 15 Euro's per adult and 8 Euro's per child. Thats a 100% mark up on the adult price and 125% mark up on the kids price to cover the coach hire!! Also take note that some of the main rides at the park operate height restrictions of at least 1.4 metres. Whilst I appreciate that the pricing has to allow for fluctuations in attendances throughout the summer this is still excessive.
There is a small shop just outside the hotel that stocks anything you may need, from baby nappies and wipes to paper's and bottled water, as well as take home presents for the cat sitters.

This hotel was one of the best we have every been to.
The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble, from the bar staff, to the cleaning staff. The Thomson's reps worked very hard to keep us amused.
The food was varied and fresh, there was always something to suit everyone. Certain evenings we were given a glass of complimentary sherry or champagne cocktails at dinner time and cocktails for the children. One night there was a clown theme and the kids got lollies on the way out of the restaurant.
Although there were four of us, we booked a family room for 5 which was enormous. It was well worth paying a little extra for a lot of space.
The resort itself is very quiet with only a few shops, not a resort for shopaholics. We stayed in the hotel most of the time, the thought of going down the very steep hill in such hot weather was something to be avoided.
The excursions were a bit expensive. We did however go on the Sunset sail and had a great time.
Overall the holiday was brill, the downside was the hill to the beach. We found it hard going and so did our children. We would go back to this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

Although the bedrooms were on the small size they were kept very clean. The bathroom with shower was spotless and clean towels were provided everyday.
The Hotel staff were very helpful and there was always someone who could speak English at reception.
The only complaint that my family and I had was the cost of soft drinks and ice cream at the pool bar and in the restaurant, with young children it is essential that they have lots of cold drinks when the weather is very hot and the price was prohibitive.

The location had lovely views over Portinatx from the pool area (older people my find the very steep hill up to the hotel too much), but I found this great exercise every night after dinner, pushing the children in their buggies to help them sleep after a very busy day.
The kids club which I have to say were well organized, Kate and the other Thompson reps were the hardest working entertainers I've seen yet.
The hotel staff were fantastic from the cleaners, barstaff, waiting staff, reception staff, they all had more than enough time to help you out!
This was my first time in Ibiza going half board and will have too go back to hotel Presidente in 2006

I could not fault this hotel in any way, from the way the staff were with us to the Thomson staff all of them gave 100% 24 hours a day.
I have to mention Krazy Kate and Dee and Suzie and all the kid reps were so funny all the time even though most night they finished late they always had a smile on the faces.
I would not hesitate to go back and hope to in September.

The room was spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day.
We don`t usually go half board but were very impressed by the buffet. There were always a few choices - pasta, fish, meat dish etc. The fish or meat was cooked in front of you by the chefs plus there was the usual soups/salads etc and I can honestly say we didn`t have a bad meal all week. The profiteroles or fresh strawberries and cream certainly went down well!
All the hotel staff and entertainment team worked very hard and made it a very enjoyable week. My son loved the kids club and the games organised during the day though he was just as happy playing in the pool or in the games room.
The hotel is on a hill though it isn`t too bad and only takes 5 mins to walk up! I thought the brochure description was spot on and though we usually like to try somewhere new we have all agreed we would love to go back again next May.

The dining room is clean and airy overlooking the pool area we never found itcrowded and we went in Whitsun week. Bibs for babies/toddlers provided free if theres not one at your table just ask loads of highchairs and plastic plates forkiddies if required.
The meals were buffet style but they may as well call it "eat all you can " (and we did ! ) you could go back as many times as you liked and have as much as you wanted. Although the children have their own small buffet area they are welcome to eat from the main buffet which both of my children did or they mixed and matched.
Breakfast was full english, cold meats & cheeses cereal, fruit (fresh & dried)yoghurts, croissants cakes frenchbread Jams& marmalades and unlimited toast (all breads even rye bread) and unlimited serve yourself tea coffee hot choclate & fruit juices there was even soya milk and diet products (jams & yoghurts etc etc) some people were even taking cakes and making up sandwiches at their tables for their kids for their lunch we didnt butnobody seemed to mind just make sure you take a tupperware box !!! we did pinch some bread for feeding the fish though !!
Dinner was cold meat & cheese platters with 6 or 7 great salads and chefs salad of the day, soup, 4or5 daily dishes i.e cannoloni, shepherds pie goulash spaghetti bolognaise etc etc and there was always either a roast or fresh meat like pork& chicken or steak & ribs being cooked fresh with chips potatoes& various veg loads of french bread and rolls and then the sweets unlimited tubs of walls icecream 3or 4 specials hot ricepudding- homemade gorgeous!!!trifle choc profiteroles or applepie and then fresh fruit and cream or yoghurt pastries & cheese & biscuits.Loads of it great quality piping hot A1
obviously at the 11 days we were sick of cooked breakfasts and wanted cheese on toast or a chinese but thats normal !!
Pool was lovely and not mentioned in the brochure is the seperate kiddies paddling pool in a nice shaded area towards the playground. Loads of sunbeds never had a problem getting any. Gorgeous free to use jacuzzi down the steps at the side of the pool gorgeous with spectacular views of the bay to look at while your sitting in it with a gym at the back of it.
Great entertainment the reps were fab especially Crazy Kate - they were all lovely great with the kids and very helpful& friendly within no time youll knowthe steps to the club dance Amarillo !!! some of the entertainment was cheesy but the kids love it no one minds the kids running around because theyre all in the same boat the bar service is great and the kids playground is just by the entertainment my son was playing on it until 11pm with all the other kids it had a very safe feel to it.
Kids clubs - we didnt use them in the day as we were doing our own thing but everyone who did said they were great the reps had a cultfollowing !! in the evening they had to be pre booked at6.oopm for the 6-8yr olds i dont know what time for the others. This was a bit of a pain but my son went and thoroughly enjoyed it but still liked playing soft ball and playing on the playground andthe minidisco as much.
Great shop in the hotel baby food(although you getit free at meal times in the hotel- Nestle Jars) nappies wipes ready made Progress milk in cartons by Nestle-fab a real life saver & magazines papers water etc etc
Cardiac hill -yes it is steep but takes about 2 minutes to go down and 3 to come up and im not fit !not nearly as bad as i expected its fine !
Beaches - one word superb spotlessly clean soft fine sand crystal clearwater with beautiful harmless fish swimming about , very shallow no seaweed, debris or crabs/jellyfish excellent we lived on the beach all i would say is as u come down the hill from the Presidente forkoff left as u reach the bottomwhich will leave u to the beach on the left of the resort it has better pushchair access the bars/restaurants are more accesible u can use their toilets without buying and its quieter the main beach although lovely is more crowded as it is the main beach for the El Grecco which is all inclusive so their guests all use it to ensure they get their free drinks so theres a lot more noise more people and lots of fag butts at peak times.
The resort itself is very quiet,2 nice livelypubs Vincents & Dell boys on the square a pharmacy (very helpful) a few souvenir shops and 2/3 supermarkets but clean trouble free no yobs no drunks great competitive prices and friendly staff very peaceful.
Glass bottom boat trip - good fun especially to feed the fish, crazy golf and lovely bar with great views to the right (away from the square as u leave the main beach)Boozy bargains top corner of the square - Ace staff very helpful superb prices you can even drink your purchases in papercups on the tables & chairs provided outside
All in all a lovely place great beaches but very quiet. Great food in a lovely hotel with lovely staff.Weather was superb
Tips

However, hotel food was excellent for all ages, all catered for, food brilliant.
For those staying at hotel take my word and get a bus from hotel, its close by, it would be cheaper to travel the island and see all using the bus, than using the trips organised by hotel, you will be saving well over

We had a family 5 room which was small but we didnt really spend alot of time in it. The room was cleaned every day and towels were changed every day, I couldn't fault the cleanliness. We hired the fridge and safe which both proved really helpful. We also hired the thomson beach towels which I would recommend you pay a deposit of 10 euros for each towel which you get back at the end of your holiday, and you can change them every day if you want to.
The hotel does have a steep hill down to the beach, but it is manageable. When we felt tired we would walk back through the El Grecco Hotel which made the climb a little easier. The views of Portinatx were really lovely and we enjoyed looking at them from the hotel.
The entertainment was great the staff worked hard to entertain us ,And there was an act every night to watch. This always finished around 11.30pm.
The children loved the holiday and there was always something for them to do (kids clubs etc.)
The food was excellent so much variety for both breakfast and dinner. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. And the thomson reps were very helpful with plenty of information on the island.

We were allocated this hotel as we booked a cheap hotel. When we arrived we were very disappointed as there seemed no nightlife and we started to worry!! But we found an English bar in the main square which was absolutely great and such a great atmosphere!!
The hotel itself was very good, food was average...I ate fish every night! But it was ok!
The entertainment in the hotel during the day was very good; they had quizzes and games everyday which was really amusing. And I didn
