Location
The Hotel Presidente is one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels we have stayed in. Even the maids were friendly.
The hotel and Thomson staff just couldn't do enough for you and to top it all off there was loads of food to feast upon every morning and evening.
We were particularly impressed by the way the staff dealt with the cleanliness of the pool. On one particular occasion the pool was closed due to a baby being ill in it, not very pleasant I know, but the staff were quick to make it clean and safe for the next day and all rooms were notified of the incident. We thought this was handled very well - both quickly and professionally.
Thank you to all staff on both parts for a fantastic, relaxing, and enjoyable holiday!

We had a room with 2 double beds which made the room seem very small but at the end of the day it's a base to keep your belongings and sleep! The rooms were cleaned EVERY day and the towels changed EVERY day. There was the use of a hairdryer in the bathroom and a TV in the bedroom (had approx. 4 UK channels) and also the use of a fridge which could be hired for approx 8 Euro's per day.
We took advantage of hiring the Superfamily towels at 10 Euro's each from reception which saved immensley on packing space. We then changed them EVERY day for clean ones and had a FULL refund on the last day.
In comparison to other hotels in Spain of the same standard I wasn't THAT impressed with the terraced area around the pool. There were THAT many sunbeds that everyone was packed in around the pool like sardines. Not much 'personal' space, and considering we were there at the back end of the season too - I wouldn't like to imagine what it must be like during July/August!! We soon got used to it though and in hindsite now realise that this was a first impression.
I was VERY surprised that although there was a small, seperate 'splash' pool for the kids that the shallow end of the main pool was not sectioned off from the rest of the pool.
The kids played in the shallow end but the floor then dropped to become much deeper, quite rapidly. With us having a 6 year old I felt a little uneasy about taking my eyes off her to begin with and wouldn't let her go in the pool without arm bands for this very reason.
Nice to have the use of the kids club facilities, although my Daughter didn't use them much as happy to play with the other kids in the pool/on the beach.
The Restaurant was bright and airy (we thought far too bright - no ambience - more like a glorified canteen!) with a very good selection of food although by the middle of the second week it was becoming rather laborious and repetative.
The staff were fantastic. Approx. 18 dedicated Thomson staff for this hotel. The Entertainment was excellent(WELL DONE to 'Crazy' Kate and 'Magic' Martin!!) and varied with a mini-disco for the kids up until 9PM, then awards were presented for various activities that had gone on throughout the day followed by entertainment from 9.30PM until 11PM.
Prices of drinks were NO cheaper than in UK!
The hotel was VERY quiet after 11PM too - which we thought was good with there being so many little children to get to sleep!!! If this didn't suit you then there were areas you could sit in peace.
There seemed to be lots of young, middle aged and older couples there. I got the impression that their hotel had been allocated on arrival after booking a late deal.
There was a very handy, friendly, English run shop under the hotel which sold necessities. Useful for bottled water, newspaper's, sweets etc. Not too pricy either.
I would sum this hotel up by saying it is of a 'typical' whitewashed, 3 star, spanish 'package holiday' hotel, no oppulance or grandier about the place, but it serves its purpose and provides the right facilities for a good family holiday and the price reflects this in the brochure. I think Thomson should rate it as a 3T and not a 4T!

Pools were nice and clean, kiddie friendly. There was one "accident" in the kiddie pool while we were there, and pool was emptied, cleaned and refilled straight away.
Food - excellent! Not for dieters though, although they did provide skimmed milk, sweetners and diet jam at the breakfast buffets!! Good choice of salads and fresh fruits. Kiddies food was fairly typical - sausages, chips etc, but of course they can just have what is on offer for adults.
Hotel location is great - set on hill with beautiful views and beach a short walk down the hill. So many people complain about the hill so we were expecting a mountain to climb, but not bad at all, not a problem.
Entertainment a bit cheesy!!, but all the same plenty provided to keep kids of all ages and adults amused.
Would highly recommend this hotel for familys

The food was exquisite and there was a wide variety of different foods for vegetarians and also healthy too.
The location was beautiful. The cove just by the beach was lovely and at night, there was a beautiful view from the hotel where the lights from all the other hotels reflected on the water. The only problem was that to actually get down to the beach, there was a very steep and dangerous hill, but apart from that, the location was perfect.
All staff including the waiters, waitresses, barmen and barmaids were really helpful and very friendly. Not forgetting, the cleaners who were also friendly and kept our rooms absolutely spotless!
Well, what can I say about the entertainment? It was absolutely fantastic! Why go out when you can stay and watch all the brilliant shows the reps put on every night?! I would just like to say that I thought that the cabaret show was outstanding and you all should be in sowbiz, AS WELL as being holiday reps!
I have every intention of visiting Portinatx again, and I think that my first choice of hotel would definitely, without a doubt be the Hotel Presidente! Thank you for a holiday my family and I will never forget! x

Coach transfer through the hills in the middle of the night went on for ages and seemed to be climbing a mountain! Sulky seventeens moaning that we must be "MILES FROM THE CLUBS".
Portinatx seemed to be tiny when we arrived and we were worried we had made a big mistake booking like this. The next day the lovely bay view and filling breakfasts cheered me up as did the pool/Delboys bar etc... Girls o.k once they met people their own age.
Day trip to San Ant/Hippy market only o.k for people who like spending an hour in a resort town!Hippy market much better..the live statues look amazing.
The hotel itself is clean and a wide variety of foods available but some things not quite hot enough which I have found the norm before.
Reps work really hard and the reps cabaret really good especially crazy Kate,Magic Martin and Dave who give 100%all day and night.
This hotel really suited to superfamilies with kids under 14 but location is too remote for older teenagers as place closes down at 12!

Excursion prices a bit much! I recommend this hotel to someone who wishs to stay in the resort most of the time, as there is hardly any buses about!!!
'capital delights' trip was ok. the guide could have done with a small microphone, as the noise drowned out his voice!!! the trip to Aguamar (water park) was very good, only thing is, the water was very salty!
I would love to go back to this hotel again, but everyone else wants to go somewhere a little more livlier, so that we can travel around by public transport a bit more!!!
