The beach is only minutes away from the Vista Blanes Apartments and is really pretty but beware, it's a lot smaller than it looks in the brochure. It didn't get too crowded but then it was October when we were there.
Churchills pub is just over the way from the main entrance of the apartment building and is pleasant enough but the English chippy, that is highly recommened was closed during the entire week we were there!
Cala'n Forcat is teeming with places to eat, all very resonably priced and all have some sort of free entertainment for children. Loads of shops there as well.
Just a little tip, don't go out of the main enterance to get there, cut across the beach and follow the footpath which brings you out opposite the main road to the resort.
While you are there a must to visit is the bar at the top of the building that has Tesco at the bottom of it. Follow the spiral walkway to the very top, the views are stunning.
The walk around the cliffs is wonderful and although I didn't venture that far, I believe it's possible to walk all the way to Ciutadella.
I can't end with out recommending that any visitor to this resort eats at Mr Beps cafe. It's tucked away down a side street opposite Churchills and is wonderful.
We ate there many times and couldn't fault the food or the service. The children get free ice cream with their meals!
My daughter and son in law ordered garlic mushrooms one night but found them to be different to the prepacked supermarket ones from home and were unable to eat them....the chef came out and apologised and didn't charge for them on the bill!
The bus service is absolutely spot on, clean and reliable. I found that the buses could be full by the time they got the stop at the aparments so I went into Cala'n Forcat and got on there.
Ciutdella is about 20 minutes by bus and if fantastic for sightseeing, shopping and eating.

Cala n Blane's is very quiet, ideal for those who want peace, if you want a bit more of an atmosphere, cala n forcat is a lovely 15 min walk away.
The beach is small but lovely there's a little bar in the trees who do some wicked cocktails and its lovely in the evening all the trees got lights on them, the drinks quite cheap too!! Would come back again.

The resort was nice, a little quieter than we're used to,not much for older children but my son made a few friends so everything was fine. The beaches are small but nice and clean.Cuitedella is beautiful and well worth a trip, in short i would stay again just not at the Vista Blanes.

Cala'n Blanes is very quiet with only couple of bars, reataurants. Nice beach with Treasure Island beach bar where you can watch the sun go down whilst sipping a cocktail or glass of sangria-highly recommend!Marco the waiter is very entertaining. Watch out for jellyfish though. Nearby is Churchills english pub and next door an english fish and chip shop which does good but very expensive fish and chips (over 7 euros). Walk to Cala'n forcat takes about 15 mins or 30 if you have a stroppy 7 year old in tow but there is more to do here with supermarkets, bars, restaurants and rides for kids. No timeshare touts but African ladies offering to braid hair on the roadside. Would recommend 'Tropical Kiss' cocktail bar and irish 51 next door. Many people rave about L'Anchora but we found it greasy, too much garlic and over-priced, didnt get customary schnapps at end of meal either!Best value meals are away from centre - Ca'n Moll has trampoline at rear for kids-very good food and pleasant service. Cuore is always busy but dont see this as a good sign-food average, staff very abrupt and service extremely slow with no apology. Ask holiday reps for their recommends.

We stayed in the Cala Blanes resort area. There was not much to do in this area. We would not recommend the cheap all you can eat chinese as there were bugs walking around the food so we walked out.
Every night we walked along to the Cala forcat resort area as this was where the main amenities were such as bars, restaurants and shops. There were many restaurants to choose from but we found them all very repetitive with chips being the main thing on the menu. We did tend to stick to a Mexican restaurant. We wanted to try some proper Spanish food but this was few and far to come by. There was a nice icecream and pancake place, we would recommend trying the churros.
We found a good bar that served the most amazing cocktails and the staff were lovely. We got abit sick of the tvs all showing big brother and coronation street in the bars as we had come on holiday to get away from UK. We found the beaches and streets all very clean.
Overall we thought the English had ruined this resort area as it was like being at home really particularly with all the chips and burgers!

Th resort of Cala Blanes is peaceful and there is very little there. Just a few bar restaurants. The small beach is near to the Cala Banes Hotel. It is very small but clean and can soon get overcrowded. Nearby is a local beauty spot of Cala Brut. Absolutely beautiful cove with landings for sunbathing and jumping into the sea which is blue, like a lagoon and full of fish.Ideal for snorkeling and swimming.
About 20 mins walk from Blanes is Cala Forcat. One main street with bars restaurants and souvenir shops and the water park. Gets busy in the evenings as people go out to eat. Not much in the way of entertainment. Kareoke and TVs that only ever have football showing.
Resort is fine if you want a fairly quiet holiday, some good restaurents with great food. Some not so good.Resort is qite small but no one pestered us for time share or anything else. Good company required as you need to be able to provide your own entertainment. Would visit resort again.
You can walk from Blanes to Cuitadella along the coast road in about 45 mins taking it steady to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery.Cuitadella is a charming old town with some great shops bars and restaurants. A beautiful harbour is busy wth boats and ferries and its pleasant to spend time watching the activity from one of the bar restaurants.Would definately visit the area again.
