Location
Food was good and varied, the staff were very friendly and helpful, if you book here phone hotel and ask for a preference of upper accomodation,as the hotel has two levels the upper level being the better
The entertainment was very very poor, the German/Polish entertainers had zero talent, but overall the holiday was excellant, would without doubt go again. I would not stay at this hotel in high season because of the lack of air-conditioning.

On our experience at the Samoa hotel we were greeted by friendly staff, the room we stayed in was tidy with two double beds, which were clean, the bathroom was very clean, and the balcony doors could do with being replaced with double glazed windows other than that we were pleased with the room.
Around the poolside area, that also was clean plenty of sun loungers to go around (but be early to get a nice spot. Now for the Meals: Breakfast! It could have had more thought put in to it, but you would'nt starve, lunch & dinner were rather nice & the snack bar. Now for the Drinks: The bar staff were quick to get the queues down pretty quick, when queues did form.
The card system should be changed to a wrist band so that young children would not lose cards. The entertainment staff did rather well to keep all the holiday makers happy and entertained. We have done a lot of all-inclusive holidays over the years, this on was enjoyed if only for a week...

Food was not up to much as we are very picky eaters. Not a great selection for the kids unless the live on chips.
The entertainment was good the first week but the second week was the same as the first staff tried their best especially Miah.

The cleanliness was the worst I have ever experienced at home or abroad. The pool areas were hosed down (without disinfectant)once per week. In the interim the pool area was littered with nub-ends, empty plastic glasses and spilt drinks, all of which added to the wasp and ant infestation. The main block above reception appears to be OK according to guests who stayed there, but the old accommodation under the hotel (where we stayed) is appaling. There were ants everywhere, biting all of us in our sleep every night. We had a pillow that a previous guest had vomited on without being changed. There were squashed insects from previous guests stuck to the walls of the bathroom and lounge.
The staff were reasonably polite - as on most all inclusive breaks, the lack of money changing hands means there is less tipping than otherwise, and therefore no real incentive for them to be cheerful. They were no less friendly than others we have come across.
The entertainment had to be seen to be believed. It consisted of the 'entertainment staff' (very loose description) tutoring some of the resident children in the day in a number of routines from various shows (Grease etc) and the children performing it to the guests at night. While nobody expects Las Vegas quality entertainment on this sort of holiday, this really was the pits.
Our holiday was a last minute bargain and I still do not feel it was good value. Have waited a week to calm down before submitting a review, but time hasn't helped!

Good points:
The bar staff and entertainers were great.
Bad points:
50% of guests had ear infection from pool, apparently this had been going on since June and the hotel said it was due to wind, sun and water. So why were we the only hotel in the area to have it?
10% of guests had throat infection (me being one of them)
We had 5 room burglaries in one night (not us thankfully)
Safes are in reception and they were also broken in to - probably by thieves with safe key, but why didn

As far as entertainment goes, we spent the entire week at the beach because the dire music that was played at the pool would have burst your eardrums. At night if anyones idea of good entertainment is playing bingo to win a bat/ball or wait for it - toaster has obviously had a labotomy.
The hotel budget has been spent on making their foyer look good with obviouslly nothing left for the rest as the rooms really need upgrading.
I could go on and on about how bad this place is and ones for sure I will tell everyone I know not to go near it!!!

The food was cooked well and there was a varied selection and you could finds something there you liked, children are the fussy ones but even with four children (ages from 6-15) we did not eat out once. Also if you miss out on lunch then there is the snack bar witch is open 10am till 11pm were you can walk in and get some food. They stop you taking food out the hotel to eat by the pool which is exelent pest control i think in total i saw a handful of ants and 2 other bugs in the 10 days i stayed.
Location i give a four but it didnt really apply to me, there are shops over the road and the beach 5 minutes away but i spent most of my time at the hotel apart from the one day spent at a water park, one night to see a Queen tribute band, the odd trips to the shop and the 5 minutes i spent at the beach i spent all my time in the hotel due to the excellent entertainment.
Everyday you started with aerobics if you wanted to (i never) then it was followed by football, shooting, water sports (ie polo, volley,) then you had a few hours to relax until the activities similar to the morning ones started again. Then they finish the activities so you can go get dressed for the night, have your evening meal and start the evening entertainment which started with a kids disco, followed by a quiz, bingo or daft game where there was champange and other prizes to win, then you had either a professional show, or the entertainers did something in which you can go up and be apart of the show, i mean i even went up to do some game thing and i never even think about going up, but the entertainers make you feal apart of it and you want to go up.
I will take this moment to thank Amia, Hauke, Dave and Inge (sorry if any names are wrong), it got to the point where you didnt have to tell them your name when going up for events they just knew. The last couple of nights we had got to know so many people by the end of the nitht there was about 20 of us sat around a group of table put together it was nice meeting you all; ricky, kevin, paul, paul, rufus, ralph, james, and the rest of them they know who they are. I will finish by saying I would give the holiday a thumbs up and would definatley come back again

since coming back i have read many reports about the food, any bad opinions are not shared, i felt that the food was great with a good selection and plenty of it. for people that have been 5 star all inclusive it wont be up to standard !.
the location of the hotel was ideal, shops, supermarkets, doctors, and bars were all within a 2min walk.(we never went out once in the evening)
the staff were all very helpfull even when a group of 15 of us insisted that the pool was closed because of glass in it. they were all very good, especially the entertainment staff, they tried to involve every one.
the day time activities were great for adults and kids, the program started at 10 and finished at about 4.30. the winner of the activites got a certificate, wich was given to you that evening.
we all had a fantastic time and would definately return again.
hello to paul, karen, ricky, caroline, rufus, michael, kevin, james, hanah, abi, neil, wayne, jane, david, david 2, paul & joanne, chris and his 5 brothers, and any one else we met. see you there next yoar ?
