We have just returned from a fab 2 week holiday at the Viva on an all inclusive basis. We have 2 kids under 5 and have all had a great time

We visited the Costa del Sol one last year and have to say we much preferred this one.

The hotel is attractive and very well maintained with a wealth of hard working staff ensuring that you had a great time.

The rooms were modern and spacious with all mod cons although the air condioning was a bit poor in the bedroom. We were in block 3 which overlooked the quiet lake(this is where you can book a massage ontdoors by the lakeside!)and i feel this would be the most peaceful block for thoes who need some peace and quiet or have little ones.

The food was very good and we found something to eat whenever we visited and our children ate very well. We tried the Caribbean Grill and found it a welcome break from the norm. Breakfast in particular was very good in our opinion.

The kids clubs are held in wooden huts that are air conditioned and have toilets. They cannot be prebooked its a case of first come first served and we were very happy with the staff and their attitude to the kids.

Entertainment is on the go all day with too many things to mention, being announced over the tannoy so that no one would miss out. We felt the evening team were the best we have had so far on holiday. Yes they may be cheesy but they could sing and gave it their all.

Swim kids was definatly worth the 32 euro and Carly was an excellent and patient teacher.

The location was good with the resort being less that 10 mins away, however must we must say that it is best visited after dark when all lit up and pretty as its as ugly as sin during the day. We enjoyed 2 nice chineses there. We also had 2 lovely evenings out at Alcudias Port (with good company too Hi Jason and Angie)the taxi was only 15 euro.

We would not hestitate to recommend the hotel to anyone with children under 10 and having scanned the brochures we will be rebooking next year here again.

We visited HVV for the first two weeks in July. Overall it was a very nice holiday with some pleasant surprises.

Check in was pretty fast, about 5 mins in total and we were issued with 2 key cards for our room. The room itself was a very nice surprise. It was alot bigger than I had expected with a lounge, mini kitchen, separate bedroom and large bathroom. The lounge had a L shaed sofa arrangement which converts into 2 single beds where my kids slept. The kitchen had a fridge, sink and electric hob along with kettle, toaster and all crockery and utensils. There is also a large double wardrobe by the front door. The bathroom was very good, there is a bath with shower and a separate walk-in shower. Both have very good water pressure although the temp can be a bit variable at busy times. The main bedroom has the usual "double" which was actually 2 singles pushed together but still with single sheets. The also had a small TV that had Sky News and CNN in English.

The main restaurant and entertainment are cleverly built in one corner of the complex so they are reasonably far away from the accomodation blocks to cut down on noise. There is a large main bar with a shop, cinema and Sports bar built underneath it.The reception has asmall indoor pool, gym and laundry room built underneath it.

The restaurant is pretty much as you would expect, no frills mass cooked food.Maybe thats a bit harsh as I did find plenty to eat although I think the food is repeated every 7 days.Breakfast consisted of cereals, fruit, cold meat and cheeses and the usual scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausages beans etc. There are toasting machines but you have to put the bread on 3 times to get a decent bit of toast.Lunch in the restaurant is pretty much salads, omelettes and meat dishes with pizza and chips readily available. In fact lunch and dinner have pretty simmilarofferings. You can of course have lunch from the poolside bar which serves burgers, hot dogs, pizza etc.Dinner consisted of salads, meat and fish dishes and freshly cooked steaks and chops from the grill. On the whole its pretty decent and there is always something for everyone.

We were all-inclusive along with about 99% of the other guests. You can get drinks from the pool bar and main bar during the day and the sports bar in the evening aswell. This is where I felt a little dissapointed. During the day drink are served mainly in plastics cups like you get coffee from in a vending machine. There are no larger sizes available. In the evening drinks are served in half pint glasses either tall or stemmed types. Again, no pint glasses here. This meant most people have more frequent trips to the bars which can be annoying. The bar staff are not exactly rude but they work very fast and talk very direct. At first it might come across rude but its just the way they work.

The daytime activities ranged from kids clubs to sports and games. There is always something going on for different age groups. The kids clubs are split into 3 section. The creche is for 0-3 years and is actually chargable locally for all sessions. My daughter is 35 months but she had to go into the creche. She enjoyed it anyway and they also do 2 late nights a week from 8-11pm but that costs 30Euros.The next club is for 3-11 years and is subsplit into 2 age groups. My son was in the Taz group. The sessions last 90 mins and there are about 4sessions during the day and then one from 9-11.All these are free but limited in numbers so I advise you to queue 10 mins before club starts. They also had a few themed events such as a 3 hour party (10E) and a chocolate night which are chargable. There is also a club for teenagers but I have no knowledge of it as my kids are younger.

Evening entertainment was a real highlight for me. There is a team of 5 permanant entertainers who have a presense onsite 7 days a week. The night starts at 8pm with the kids disco and then about 9pm is Bingo which is very popular and you can win as much as 520E for a full house which is over

Just arrived back on 1st August from a wonderful 2 week holiday. Weather was very hot which was the only problem.

Hotel and staff we couldn't fault. This has got to be one of the best hotels we have ever been to. Rooms spacious and bright. If you were to go self catering I'd suggest you book elsewhere as the kitchen is very small although has everything.

Whole village complex was spotless and all the staff are only too pleased to help you. Entertainment well what can I say. A big thank you to Alexi, Jamie, Tom, Sarah and Tori who all made this a memorable stay for us. I'd pay to see them in concert they were so good. Best entertainment we had ever seen and they are all true professionals. Even brought the CD I know very sad!

Kids club for 3 years olds I thought the room could be a bit more inviting with things to do on display. My daughter only went twice and thought it was a bit boring although I think the numbers in there at her age might have been a bit too much.

I would recommend this to everyone and just would mention a couple of things. If you are veggie tell your representative immediately. We are all veggie and the food was a little on the boring side although they did appear to try. Location was ok although you are 10/15 minutes walk away from the main beach which is very crowded and 10/15 minutes seems a long way in 40 degrees!!!!!

Would definitely go back and if any of the staff there read these reports thanks for a great holiday and keep up with the good work!

When we arrived check in was quick. We were told as arrived early in the morning they had laid some food on, this was as we found out, some fruit and dried bread and a glass of orange juice.

Could do with the Welcome Meeting being later for those that don't arrive until 6.30am, we travelled through the night so by the time we fot to room was nearly 7am and meeting was at 10.30 so did not get much sleep.

Room was nice size and clean. The room was cleaned every other day and they did a really good job.

The food was a real let down, chips served everyday and we only counted veg twice will we stayed and this was of the tinned sort which as a real shame. The breakfast was not to bad, eat pancakes everyday as you could see them being made fresh.

My partner said that he would rather they had kept the burgers going longer at the poolside bar because you could always get a Chicken Salad and the Buger with Bacn was very nice.

The pool did get busy firstthing but we always got a sun louner but if you wanted one with a sunshade did need to be at pool by 8.30am latest.

Could not fult the night entertainment. They pulled out all the tops for the kids show and my little girl got up to all the dancing and is still showing them to veryone now we have got home. Had some good laughs at these shows. Little girl was in the Taz club (age 6). She loved this and wore her t-shirt with pride. We only found that the 2.30 club got very busy and would say have to be there about 15minutes before start time. Will I stood there little one went off on the slide which was next to the club house so she did not get bored waiting in line. Take plenty of wipes with you because they seemed to come out with there face painted every other day.

I did cut my arm on the barrier at the top of the stairs which I reported to the staff as it was sticking out and I need not want a child to hurt thm selves. They never got back to me and when we left they had done nothing about it so if your near room 2105 watch out for the corner of the railings near the bend just outside your room.

Have to say would not go again as like to see more and have more to do on holiday and also the food was such a let down.

Stayed here for two weeks all inclusive and loved it.

Place really clean, food great, diet went right out of the window, loads of choice every night.

I have two children, Elle who is 8 yrs old and Joseph who is 6 yrs old and they really loved the kids club. They attended every day at 12 noon to 1.30pm and again at 2.30pm till 4pm, then back at 9pm for movie night and all the games that were on during the day.

All the reps work really hard and the E3 team who did the entertainment in the evening were great. By the end of the fornight my daughter was up on stage joining in with other children doing all kinds of dancing. We had to make sure we had eaten and got to the kids disco by 8pm.

Went to the beach for one of the days. Loved the sea breeze but found that kids were always asking 'Can I have a drink?' about twenty times, or ice cream, as they were used to having a drink when ever they wanted at the hotel. They got bored so only went to the beach once as it was not cheap to eat out and it seemed to be geared up for the Germans.
Really loved the HVV and was sad to leave. Met alot of nice people and the kids made lots of friends too.

Not much left to say all the other holiday makers have said it for us.

Fantastic spotless hotel,

Very large hotel room loads of space 2 very large wardrobes large bath and shower plus large walk in shower they are spotless the room is spotless the food great.

Lots to choose from the Italian restaurant was fantastic the service was brilliant. 4 waiters to 1 table.

Location of the hotel is very quiet jump on the bus 20mins to Alcudia very lively at night entertainment that was fab the kids had a ball. The staff work very hard from children to adults so friendly and helpful any problems and they are there to help nothing is too much trouble for them.

Yes I would visit the same hotel. I stayed 1 week but needed 2 weeks as there was so much to do and see,

Hotel itself was of a good standard. Unfortunately when we arrived we had 5 bad days out of 14 which gave us a depressing start to the holiday. This was because the pools, inside and out were so very cold that the children would not go in and apart from the clubs there was nothing else to do. Especially for our two year old. The clubs were good the kids enjoyed them. Certain activities you had to pay for but the staff were friendly and happy. The creche seemed fine though they do not hold any change so remember tp have the correct money.

They had a washing machine downstairs which was helpful though people did not always come back for their washing.!!

Did not really see the entertainment but heard it was good. No idea where the night time snacks were either though I think you asked for these at reception. We did not enjoy this holiday as much as their other holiday village in Turkey but this was mainly because the pools were just too cold.!!!!!.

I think we went at a good time high season I reckon would be manic hear as their isn't much room in the restaurant .The tables were quite close together. Food was ok though best if you get to the restaurant early. Water you had to ask for other than that ok.

The rooms were a very good size. Not very clean though. The maids did not like to give you clean towels that often despite putting them in the bath as they requested.!!!

Would not go again as the pool put us off but overall a good holiday and a good complex.

The Pinches

The Hotel from the road looked impressive as we pulled up. The room check in was completed within minutes. The doors on your room are controlled by swipe cads of which you get two, so you can leave the aircon on during the day.

The rooms are of a good size, usual kitchenette, sofabeds in the living room. Plenty of cupboard space and the icing on the cake was a seperate shower and bath, which meant that two people can get ready for dinner at once.

The entire hotel was spotless and the staff always willing to help.

The pools were quite cold when we arrived at the beginning of June but warmed up within days. Three very nice size pools, watched by lifeguards. But i never used the indoor pool, seemed a bit pointless. Good size and well equipped gym.

The daytime activity team are In2action who will keep your children entertained from 1000am till 1100pm, if they can be bothered to go and the staff within the team I found excellent.

The only downside was that the food. I found the standard was good, but it was to similar, although my wife and children enjoyed it.

The evening enterainment was good, the usual entertainment program, bingo, kids disco, comic, singing, dancing and all the staff made a good effort.

I would almost say the guests did not appear to be in the holiday spirit.
Overall we had a great time, made some very good friends and would return to the hotel in the future

Having read some of the reviews on here we were a little apprehensive before we left, but honestly you do wonder what some people are whingeing about!!

The hotel is visually very impressive on arrival. Booking-in was the fastest and most efficient we have had on a holiday.

The staff were extremely helpful and all smiles. There were luggage trollies available to wheel your cases to your room if you wanted them.

The apartments were very well furnished, loads of storage room. Although the extra beds in the lounge were supposed to be for kids, my daughter and I used them so that if the children went to bed first we could still sit up. They were perfectly adequate for us to use. Only grouch, the channels on the TV were terrible. I know the football was on, but there were at least 3 channels showing sport and the abysmal CNN and Sky News, but funnily enough a Welsh-speaking channel with normal programmes, perhaps a case for the racial equality people! Contrary to what some have written the maids come 5 days out of 7. Towels were ALWAYS renewed and our maid couldn't do enough for us. The place was spotless. The kitchen was tiny but who wants to cook when you are AI. There was a fridge with a complimentary bottle of water on arrival.

Sunbeds were a problem, it is annoying to find rows of them around the parasols with towels on them, only for them to be empty till lunchtime, where people had obviously gone off for the morning even though you are requested not to reserve the beds. There aren't really enough sunshades, but we bought one from the shop for 5.95 euros. As regards diving, there are clearly written signs around the entire pool showing that the deep one is 1.5m and the others are 1m so if you can read you shouldn't be surprised if you are hurt if you dive. The lifeguards were vigilant and cheerful and sorted out some 'boisterous' kids who were trying to duck ours. There is a lovely shaded part of the pool bar where you can sit out of the sun, (it was 30-37c when we were there) and the snacks from the pool bar - 10am-5.30ish are good.

Cannot understand the moaning about the restaurant. I am known as 'fussy' but there was something for everyone in there for each meal. If you couldn't find SOMETHING you liked you are unreasonable. The waiters are helpful, cheerful and never seemed to stop running around. Spotless again and not being able to take buggies in is only sensible and considerate for other diners. They trip you up and get in the way. If your baby was asleep they gave you a table out of the way where you could leave the buggy next to you. The good thing as well at all the snack bars and restaurant was that you could give your children (ours were 7 and 9) a little personal freedom to go on their own and not worry.

The whole complex was constantly being cleaned wherever you went. We even found a gardener with a miners' lamp on his head weeding before daylight one morning.

All the staff there were smiley and helpful. The kids club staff, especially the wavelength and int2action were absolutely fantastic. Our kids did things we never thought they could, high rope, scuba, raft building etc. Thought the charges for some of these things were a bit off, but still it was all we had to pay out for.

The evening snacks are sandwiches available from the bar from 9pm. Restaurant hours are long, and snack bar open from the end of breakfast in the restaurant. Seatbelt on the plan home was a bit of a problem.

All First Choice reps were excellent, we had somethings not related to this actual holiday to sort out and they couldn't have done more for us, even when they had finished their shifts.

The location is problematical. The shops are a good 800m and the beach further. It was so hot that the walk was too much for our kids and the market in Ca'an Picafort was further than we were told and finishes at 1pm and we needed to get a taxi back (5euros) wouldn't recommend walking too often if the heat stays on.

Overall - great the kids were begging to come back in October and funds permitting we would go for 2 weeks next time. If you have children this is the place for you.

On arrival the hotel is very impressive.

Air conditioning in the lobby is just what you need after a longish coach journey. The reception staff were ever so thorough, and check in was very speedy. The room was fantastic. we were on the third floor overlooking the mini golf. Kitchen had everything you need for self catering and we were all inclusive so a bonus for making an early coffee or tea. The food was really rather good. Breakfast was overwhelming with chioce, from humble cornflakes to freshly cooked pancakes with chocolate sauce. You really could start your day with whatever you fancy. We ate at the pool bar. Not always piping hot but fine for lunch. The usual snacks. Pizza, burgers and hot dogs. Dinner was really good too. Loads of choice again as well as pizza chips etc. I suggest you try a little of something new everyday, you never know, you might like it!!!!!

The staff were without exception the most polite and helpful we have ever encountered on a package holiday, from the morning smile from the gardners to the friendly banter from the bar staff. Okay, my hubby is spanish, but I am not and I felt very welcome by everyone.

The entertainment is as good as you will get in any 4 star hotel, a bit iffy sometimes but "cheese" is what it's all about. Kids clubs and activities are fab. Our 3 year old had a great time in the bugs hut on many an occasion. swim kids is also a plus. He learnt to swim (with arm bands )in just 5 lessons. Well worth it!!!! As usual there are those who spoil it for every one else and hog the sun beds, almost to the point of obsession as to where they have to have them, my advice is , buy a brolly from the shop, Free hire of towels from reception and spread yourself out on the grass by the kids pool.

Dappled shade from pine and olive trees is much better that cooking on a sun bed with the rest of the "sardines".

All in all an exceptional hotel run by exceptional staff
