Location
Found the hotel staff to be very friendly. The Thomas Cook reps in the hotel I found did not communicate with guests, even if you were sitting in reception area, they never said a good morning or hello, the kids clubs reps especially John and Lee were brillant, I travelled alone with my son and once John and Lee knew I was alone with son, they did make extra effort to pop over and said hello and have a chat, (thanks guys :)
The room was large and basic, in fact one of the biggest rooms we have stayed in.
The entertainment of a night, hmmm now what can I say about that, it did get beyond laughable, it was the worst entertainments team I have ever seen, a lot of people stayed for the bingo then after that quite a lot left.
The hotel is in a prime location, right on beach and a small walk to shops and other bars, also you can walk to Pirates and the Water Park.
The pool I found was not safe at all, no warnings of depth of pool and even as an adult I could not touch the bottom of the pool, I did make a comment about this, and quite a few people also said how dangerous it was. Twice durning our stay the pool was closed for about 2 hours as some-one had used the pool as a toilet.
Coming to the end of our holiday there was large and small groups of 18-30's come to the hotel, our room faced onto the street, but a few people had said they had heard the young ones coming in early hours of the morning to the point were they were woke up by their rowdyness.

The beach was brilliant but watch out for the touts we had money stolen off us. However the police did patrol the beach once informed.
Would strongly recommend this holiday.

Situated on the beach so no long walks to the beach.
Kids club which is great for when the heat gets to much. Entertainers fantastic, no reason to go elsewhere for entertainment.
Rooms basic, clean and tidy.

Where do I start - let's go on the whole of the hotel 1st, when we arrived you think WOW not bad, when we stepped in thought I was going to collapse. The reception area was boiling hot and everyone

Arrived in July 2005 reception staff not very friendly, after standing in a very long queue we got our room key. We're delighted to get a room with a sea view, on the way to our room corridor was very smelly, stunk of sewereage.
My daughter and myself decided to go to the evening entertainment we had just sat down when the chair she was sitting on collapsed, another holiday maker informed us that was the fourth chair that had broken that week.
The next day we decided to go to the pool which was freezing as it was shaded by trees and the baby pool was covered in leaves that had fallen, and it was not cleaned out until the next morning, there is no lifeguard. My eldest daughter was there with 2 small children, sat on a sunbed and caught her leg in the side and got a nasty cut.
3 days into the holiday the hotel started to fill up with 18 year olds, you could no longer play in the childrens pool as they were in there playing with balls, and one time I had to take my 3 year old grandchild out as it hit her on the head. The swearing was disgusting and the entertainment had to be taken inside on a night as they were throwing eggs at people sitting outside. At the end of the first week they had aquired bb guns and were shooting them from the balcony, I reported this to reception, they did nothing,I made an official complaint to the reps, her reply was "well it is their holiday as well" Needless to say the reps are a waste of space, most of them spent more time in the pool than the holidaymakers.
Food not too bad, tasted worse, room clean, most of the staff quite friendly, everything on the doorstep, supermarket over the road, Bunnys, very very expensive, as with supermarket in hotel.
Plenty to do, beach clean, good resort for people with children.
Iberostar allocated it to families only in 2004, Thomas Cook let anybody in. The second week of our holiday they had to send for the big bosses to come from London as there was too many people complaining.
I would go back to Magaluff the resort is great, would I go back to this hotel "DEFINiTELY NOT" NEVER.

The hotel is situated right on the beach, is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Magaluf's infamous nightlife - but not too far away if you want to sample some of it.
We stayed half board and found the food to be very good, served buffet style, so you could have as much as you wanted. There were a selection of meats, fish, salads & fresh fruit available at every sitting.
The room we stayed in had great sea views (all rooms have a sea view, I think). It has to be one of the biggest (and cleanest) rooms I have ever stayed in and had a kitchen, separate bedroom, big bathroom and a good-sized lounge (with comfy sofa-beds for a change!).
The hotel staff were excellent and seemed to work tirelessly - from the receptionists, to the kids animation team and pool attendants.
Entertainment was quite low key, with only 2 evening shows in the week we were there. The kids animation team operated 5 days a week though - which was great for us, having a 10 + 8 year old in tow. There is also an adult animation team with a variety of sports and games available - again 5 days per week.
I would definitely visit this hotel again in a couple of years and have not been put off by Magaluf at all.

When we arrived at hotel it was late at night and took a while to check in, as the man on reception was very incompetent and pretended he couldn

If you had a problem then they'd sort it for you. The waiters were kept busy but always had a smile for you and in the bar in the evenings always made sure you had a drink.
The entertainment team were great with the kids and put on great shows. The hotel itself was nice,it was always clean and the maids called daily.
There is a shop situated at the hotel, which sold everything. The were two pools outside-but they were basic. I never used the large one but my daughter used the childs pool, which was constantly cold due to the fact that there were large trees shading it from the sun.
There is a snack bar there for lunch but i thought it was rather expensive. The food itself was nice but you can get bored by it after two weeks of eating it.

We were moved here after they over booked the hotel that we were meant to be staying in - a right dump! So we were over the moon to be put in the Royal Beach.
There was eight of us, all girls and basically wanted a good time.
The hotel is actually on the beach which is a bit of a pain because random people use the pool and take over the sun loungers! but the pool was always spotless.
The views over the balcony are amazing and it is literally a 2 second stroll from the strip - heaven!
I'm only giving such low marks on cleanliness because the maid found it very difficult to clean around all of our clothes all over the floor, but she did a good job and was always polite.
Didn't really see much of the staff, but the receptionist was polite and as I said so was the maid.
I'm not even sure if the hotel had entertainment bars and clubs were our entertainment!
