This was our second visit to the Son Matias Hotel and we cannot praise this hotel highly enough. All the staff are extremely polite,helpful and friendly, as was Will the Thomson's rep. The hotel is kept very clean and is idealy situated for the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. The rooms have fantastic views across the bay.
We felt the addition to the restaurant since our last visit,of an outside eating area, is an excellent idea and it was lovely to eat our evening meal overlooking the promenade and beach, or to enjoy breakfast as the sun rose over the mediterranean.
The food was excellent, varied, hot, well cooked and presented. Infact as we enjoy a good fry up of a morning when on holiday, in our opinion, the Son Matias has the best breakfast anywhere. After eating so much food, we were far too stuffed to participate in the daytime activities, but those who did appeared to have a thoroughly good time.
The evening entertainment was also good and we enjoyed some very professional acts, and the entertainments team worked hard throughout the day and night to ensure everyone had a wonderful time.
Prior to going to the hotel we had heard comments about the age group of most of the guests, however, those of us who have grown wiser with age know how to party......
In short, we would highly recommend this hotel and if you want to go, book early to avoid disappointment as over half of the guests return year after year and who can blame them. Within four days of returning home, we had booked for next year.

We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and could not fault it in any way. The food was excellent. Plenty choice piping hot didnt have same meal twice.
Very clean hotel towels changed daily maid service excellent. Beach front location every room has a sea view which is amazing!
Staff couldn't do enough for you Javier in dining room and Toni the bar manager in particular. Entertainment was very good Laura and Dan kept it going all day and evening entertainment was excellent with tribute bands like drifters, abba four tops etc.
Would definitely visit this well run hotel again as many of the guests do year after year.

We stayed in this hotel for the first time this year and had a fantastic time!
The hotel was very clean and posh from the front so we were pleased when we stepped off the coach! The inside was just as good food was good with weekly gala nights lots of variation.
The hotel was located just on the borderline of Palma Nova and Magaluf so you had the best of both worlds but you were just enough outside og magaluf not to be kept awake.
Staff and entertainment were both excellent and went out of there way to make sure you had a good time.

We have just come back from our weeks holiday at the Son Matias my friend and I really enjoyed our stay we both agree its the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
The staff were very friendly.
The food was good but I would of liked to of seen some pizza or fish fingers for those of us who like to eat bland.
The entertainment was good we thought it might be a little before our time as we are 24 and 30 but it was great.

Nothing too much trouble, check-in method spot on - just pull up a chair and have a drink and the lead name in your party simply books all of you in without an uncomfortable queueing system.
Cleanliness - faultless.
Food excellent - if you can't decide from the huge choice placed in front of you there are plenty of eateries within 1 to 15 minutes walking distance.
Location - exit the main door for Terra Nova/Magaluf or force yourself past the poolside bar and snack area, exit the security controlled gate and you're on the beach in 2 (yes 2) seconds with a range of bars/restaurants in either direction within, quite literally, minutes.
Staff - faultless.
In-House Entertainment - can vary but in the main very good. If you've not done 'Pirates' or 'Son et Lumieres' then they're an expensive 'must do' but if you can't guarantee the best forward-looking seats you might find your neck twisted at 90 degrees so will feel some discomfort if you get a restricted view. As an aside, each of these venues removes any unfinished drinks/bottles of any kind from your person as you leave.
All in this is probably the best hotel in Palma Nova with really easy access to Magaluf and no noise from the Palma Nova youth scene - we're booked to visit again for the fourth consecutive year - we're in our mid-fifties and have never booked a consecutive hotel anywhere but here.

We stayed at the Son Matias Beach hotel fro 4th-11th August.
We could not have chosen a better, more convenient hotel if we'd tried, it was the perfect solution to all our holiday needs. It suited age ranges, location, facilities, accommodation requirements.
The hotel provided all our requirements, we were on holiday with parents who did not want to over exert, the hotel provided wonderful standards of cleanliness,(the staff even cleaned external door handles,) excellent rooms on a low level as my mum is semi-disabled.
Good choice of food.
All staff were friendly and professional, Dan and Laura with their unbounded energy kept all entertainment varied and running smoothly.
The bar was easily accessible.
The pool area provided wonderful surroundings, which saw no need for us to use the excellent beach onto which the hotel backed.
Security was excellent.
There was a variety of age ranges from 16+ which ensured that noise was minimal during the night.
We were able to visit restaurants and bars in Palma Nova when we required.
The location of the hotel was just right not too far into the hustle and bustle of Palma Nova/Magaluf but near enough to be able to explore.
Only down point, Spanish football had not started so Hubby wasn't able to go with Toni (bar Manger, maybe next year). Thanks for a wonderful holiday see you July 2006 (already booked)

This was my second stay at this hotel and I am returning May 07. The rooms and hotel are kept spotless and the food is good to.
The entertainment could be livened up a bit but it depends what show they have that week ... I am 23 so want it livelier than most! It wasn't bad though and I enjoyed my time there.
The staff are great and I pop in and see them when unable to stay at the Son Matias (due to chilren in our party sometimes).
All the staff are great but a special mention to Toni the bar manager who is lovely and runs things really well. And also Marcos - of course, not only is he good looking he is friendly, witty and nice to be around, Say hello from Michelle if you go there - hee hee x

We couldn't fault the hotel itself, as it was spotlessly clean & decorated to a very high standard.
The location couldn't be better & the view from the balcony is like a postcard.
We found all staff to be friendly & professional too.
The main "down" side we found was the food ..... there was always a great selection & it was always well presented etc; but it was never hot!! We tried it on several occasions but gave up in the end & ate out most nights; breakfast was the same, again a great selection of foods but nothing hot!
A final thing I would say is that while we purposely booked the hotel because it was ADULTS ONLY, we expected to meet more people our age (in their 30s) but we the average age was about 60 & the entertainment caters for that age group.
The location couldn't be better & the view from the balcony is like a postcard.

The hotel Son matias beach hotelis excellent the staff was lovely the only thing was thr drink was a bit expensive. the entertainment was also excellent and the games aroud the pool was a great way to get to know everyone.
The best thing also about the hotel was for adults only which is lovely just lying and relaxing without screeming kids all day.
We are going back next year again this will be our third time this hotel is a must.
