Location
The food at best is very ordinary and the dining-room staff are rushing around too much to have any contact with the guests.
There are insufficient sunbeds in the pool area and the uncontrolled morning stampede to get the towels on what there are is a disgrace.
Entertainment ranges from the excellent {Graham Powell- a singer/comedian}to the never ending bingo and old-time dancing, although the 2 young ladies organising the entertainment work extremely hard.
The position of the hotel is excellent, being right on the promenade and close to most of the local amenities, but after a refurbishment I understand it is going to be even more expensive for 2008.

When we arrived about 11am we were told that our room was not ready which was dissapointing, and we had to wait about an hour for it to be cleaned, when we got into the room which was on the first floor in the corner we found our balcony overlooked the roof of the lounge, but we could see the beach and sea ok, it had been done as a cactus garden and was very nice to overlook especially as it was home to a couple of cats and their 4 kittens, which proved delightful to watch them playing around.
The general cleanliness of the hotel was very good and they had recycling bins on the landings.
We enjoyed the food every day, there was plenty of choice at breakfast and dinner, with a different joint being carved every evening, and there was a large selection of desserts, which I plundered every night!.We compared the quality of the food to what we had eaten on several cruises and thought it was of a very high standard,The hotel is situated a few yards from the beach could not be better, there was even a gate for guests only to get on to the esplanade.
There was a varied amount of games during the day around the pool or on the beach, and we found the evening entertainment top notch although a lot of it was tribute bands,we even had Elvis in the house! The staff were very good in all areas, there was even 2 english people working there so it was good to talk to them as well.
We would definatly go back there again.

We were a little concerned about the older clientele who frequent this hotel but our fears were unfounded as we met some really nice people whilst there and some had more energy than us!
The hotel is in a stunning location directly on a beautiful beach with all rooms having a sea view, the staff were extremely friendly and the entertainment was good.
The food was varied and for a fussy vegetarian like myself the food was superior to what I've had in 4star in other places. Loads of choice even porridge for breakfast and black pudding for meat eaters.
The only negative comments are having to pay for your fridge and television and the dining room was cramped as it was small.

However, we found Palmanova to be really quiet in February.
The hotel is lovely in every way. Views from rooms are fantastic - looking straight out onto the sea. Food was extremely good - although very British, Roast Beef and Yorkshire puds!! The staff are very helpful, especially Laura the head of entertainments - she works tirelessly. There is a wide variety of activities and entertainment both day and evening - it does finish by 11pm - so no late rowdy nights!!
You do have to pay extra for tv, safe and fridge - but you can have whichever of these that you want.
The hotel was a little like an old folks home but some of them are extremely fit!! Put us younger ones to shame!
Would we return - I think we probably would - Palmanova in the winter must be a very different place from the summer months, it is also an attractive end of the island - more so that the Eastern end. Also great for visiting Palma.

I felt as though I'd landed in a very comfortable old folks' home. That's not being patronising - I'm in my early 70's but I've reserved Bingo and Old Time dancing for later in life.
The absence of children was a definite bonus.
Food was not always hot, even when we went early.
(And avoid those langoustines on the salad bar - I spent 4 days in hospital with food poisoning and I put it down to these little beasts!)
The staff are extremely friendly (in fact, everyone is!)and efficient.
I found the entertainment a bit amateurish (with the exception of Graham Powell, singer & comedian who was fantastic) but Entertainment Staff Laura & Katy worked very hard at it.
I thought the bar prices were a bit steep and I didn't expect to be charged for a TV and a fridge though I welcomed the kettle.

The weather was fine, the hotel was spotless, the food was excellent. And the staff

The only real down side for us being in our early twenties was that the average age of holiday makers appeared to be over 60, and we were made to feel like we weren't meant to be there at times. I would say if you are young or young at heart to perhaps seek another hotel. I would recommend the Santa Lucia next door - seemed to be just as good but younger. Although this is a perfect base if you plan to get out and about to indulge in the Majorca night life.
Finally I was particularly impressed by the environmental policies, health and safety and disabled facilities within the hotel and resort.
PS Check out the Indian restaurant next door - well worth a visit

The staff were very friendly and always made you feel welcome either in the Reception or the Dining room and bar. No special mentions as they all tried their best!!
The food was very good and no Brit could really complain as they tried their very best to provide the staple British diet of Fried breakfasts and Sunday roasts!! they also had theme nights where the staff dressed up and the menu included that countries fare, ie. Mexican and oriental.
We did not attend all the entertainment shows as we like to go out after dinner and seats were taken very early on! On the occasions we did attend it was very good, all tribute type acts and comedian/singer Graham Powell who was very good indeed.
All in all a very nice hotel and if we did go back to Palma Nova we would definitely try to stay there. Cannot recommend it highly enough, go and find out for yourself.

Location of hotel is perfect, food is excellent, hotel staff polite and friendly and the rooms are comfy and very clean with great veiws of beach and sea.
There were no tea dances as previously stated, but they did a quick line dance and euro bingo before the entertainment started. Excellent hotel will revisit.

On two occasions the entertainment went to another extreme with the lurid flashing of their bits by well endowed ladies badly miming to extra loud music, then there were the drag artistes, I don't think any couples on holiday enjoy seeing men prancing about in dresses.
One evening my favourite football team were playing, the television was in an area at one side of the main dance area (other side of the bar), I asked if the sound could be turned up a bit only to be told it may upset the bingo players.
The bar needs an update, the drinks are kept in ice cream type fridges behind the bar so you couldn't see what was on offer, refridgerated glass fronted cabinets facing the customers would have made it possible to know what was on offer, no chance of a pint of guinness! I ended up with a Bud only because I saw someone else drinking one.
The food was good and a great selection, unfortunately the bacon was overcooked every morning, hard as nails so missed out there.
Would I go back again? Yes I would but the entertainment and the bar need sorting out, it was a bit of a pain going out most evenings for some decent nightlife.
This is a good hotel.
