Small resort, but excellent for families. Bouncy castles and amusements - just what the children wanted!! Beaches small so very safe for little ones. Recommend to anyone.

was well chuffed with cala n forcat as this was my first visit to menorca and having had a coupla tours on this holiday it suits my family down to a tee. plenty of shopping areas with something for everyone even found 2 piercing studios!!!! eating out is good we found a lot of good places but our faves are the forum rite acroos from the binimar and the british chippy located near the blue breeze bar. beach was good too and there is a great waterpark nearby. all in all a great holiday roll on next year.

The resort is excellent for children with all the bouncy castles, inflatable whales and of course, the waterpark - not too big and very child friendly with life guards watching over the children.
The children also really enjoyed the mini train which travels round the resort and the horse and carriage which gives rides for 18 euros for 15 mins and 30 euros (I think) for 30 mins.
The beach at Cala'n Blanes is the best in the resort and is easy to get to.
Now for the downsides: We really struggled at first to find a good restaurant and we did try a lot, we found them all to sell the same thing and serve chips with everything! Although saying that, the chinese resaurant to the right of the roundabout was nice as was Lynne's Chippy opposite the L'Ancora but by far the best place to eat was the Red Lion Pub next to the chippy - not at all Spanish I know, but the food was lovely, especially the Sunday lunch ! We ate there many times and can't recommend it highly enough.
If you are a family with young children looking for a safe, fun holiday with plenty to keep the kids amused this resort is for you.

great for older couples and families, not for those who want a choice of a few bars with atmosphere

The nearest proper beach was a good 15 minute walk away in cala n blanes, we only visited it once as to busy. Around cala n forcat there were three coves, (cala n piques, cala n forcat) never to busy and ideal for children as no waves and could walk right out and still only be waist deep) cala n brut, the other cove was only suitable for adults and is used for diving as very deep. entertainment in cala n forcat is plenty every pub has something opposite to entertain children. and this place would suit singles, families or elderly. people very friendly and didnt get ripped off once.

We loved Cala Forcat!!!! Friendly, lively (compared to most other resorts). Lovely meals out at Haiti and Sa Caladera near the roundabout. Beaches more like coves - cute and safe for kids but not beaches as compared to Son Bou or La Galdana (hire a car to get to those if necessary). Molly Kavanaghs Irish Bar (near Burger King) brilliant - great craic and such a genuine warm welcome from this family run bar!! Very family oriented resort - kid loved eating out - plates or (planes/boats/buses) cleared every night!!! Great location for touring as Ciutadella just minutes away and Mahon less than an hour. Full marks to everyone in Menorca who made our holiday so good - thank you!

We did not find the resort particularly clean, there seemed to be quite a bit of rubbish about. Some good nights are to be had in 'The Square' go to the 'John Travolta' statue, turn left and the square is on the right hand side.
In the middle of the square there is a stage and several times weekly there is entertainment. Usually tribute bands, we saw the 'Temptations' 'Tina Turner' and 'The Platters' all were very good. The Toyma Bar was our favourite pub in 'the square' cos the chairs are very comfy and the staff are great.
If you have children, you will find that all the pubs/ cafes are very child friendly with bouncy castles and loads of stuff to keep the kids amused. The resort has been described previously as 'Blackpoolish' but at least the kids will have things to do rather than moaning about being bored!
There are some nice quiter bars for couples such as 'Maxi's which has gorgeous sunsets overlooking the sea, 'El Patio' which serve superb fresh fish dishes and a couple of others.
Very small beach, loads of steps, not pushchair friendly but ok for older kids, clear sea, takes a while to get deep so safe for youngsters, lots of kids with fishing nets cos there are loads of fish in the clear sea. Adults and Kids will love the snorkeling.
Better bigger beach at Cala'n Blanes ten minutes away or go by mini train.
Have a great holiday!

The resort was excellent and the variety of food to be found was fantastic. There were plenty of bars and loads for the kids. The two beaches we found were so lovely and the sea so clear, we are all eager to return.

Plenty to eat and drink> 1 main road with everything on it!Burger King at far end!If you want good old english fish and chips go to Ken & Jeans(go left at the john travolta statue and follow the road round). Also ben & jerrys icecream parlour, and a candy floss stall that shapes it into hats for the kids.Cheapest place we found for cigs was in the commercial centre(tobacco shop).Buses run often are very cheap to the other resorts(bus stop outside main entrance).
