Only went to one beach which I have to say was not the best I have been to it was very hard to walk out in the sea due to some many rocks and stones

The resort was extremely English and well catered for families. We ate out every night and our favourite was the Steak House. The only place to eat where the kids could play was the restaurant at the Aqua Park. There was a restaurant with a play area opposite but the food mainly consisted of burgers, fries etc.

There is a little cove near Oasis Park which is usually clean and great if you want to sunbathe and dont want to worry about getting up early at the Apartments.

As you leave Los Lentiscos, you go down a long road which is full of resturants & souvenier shops. There were some other places that seemed to cater for younger children with rides & bouncy castles, but we did not try these places. We visited about 4 resturants with the best being a steak house which also did wicked tasting pizzas. The food in our opinion was the best we had & visited here twice ( all the rest were good but not good enough for a second visit!)I think this was called the steak house, but I do remember that it was on the left hand side of the road as you left Los Lentiscos, quite a way down opposite a bar/resturant that had a huge tv showing english soaps/footie.
Costs of meals ranged from 50 to 65 euros and some included that to be for a 3 course meal for 4 with 8 drinks ( 2 alcholic the rest soft).
The beach is really close. We went on one day for a few hours. The water was really warm and you could walk quite a way before it got deep. The children enjoyed using their nets to look/catch fish.
Overall, in our opinion this is a great place for families with younger children (maybe not for teens).

You may feel good to have found this great site that gives you excellent info on the holiday you maybe having soon or considering, but think upon this, a holiday is what you make it at the end of the day and if you set out with high expectations you could be disapointed. Remember you are in a foreign country and some things will be a bit different from home, but that's half the fun ain't it?

Having hired a car and visiting a few other resorts we were pleased we stayed here. There was plenty for families to do on an evening and had plenty of bouncy castles etc to keep young children entertained. I am not sure how this resort would suit families with older children. I felt safe here. There are no big beaches but plenty of small coves with clean sea.

Cala n Forcat is like Blackpool in the heat. Men in Football Shirts, Large Screen T.V's in Every outlet showing Sky Sports, Kareoke, Bouncy Castles, Trampolines, and 'Chips' with Everything !! Even Shops bearing the Tesco and ASDA logos.
If you want the taste of Menorca then this just isn't it.
It is impossible to find anywhere to have a quiet family night or drink. Yes it is Lively and Noisy ALL the time and if you want an alternative to this on the odd night out you won't find it here either.
We found one little restaurant that boasted traditional Menorcan food and yes it was probably the best of the worst but even that came with guess what?? Yes Chips.

Cala n Forcat is a family orientated resort. There's quite a few restaurants - we visited about 7 of them and whilst we had our favourites (Es Forn and Las Brascas), we always had decent food and service. Menus are same in most places but with wide selection - many also do Paella for 1 which I've not seen too often before.
there's the usual shopping facilities - i.e. things that look great when you're on holiday but are actually tat when you get home - but we still return and buy more next year.
Plenty of bars, although given the family atmosphere of the resort nothing seemed particularily wild - every bar has widescreen TVs showing Sky Sports and a few of them also showed Emmerdale, Corrie etc - and some saddos actually sat there and watched them - get a life!!!
Beached were the real let down. We went to the one our rep said was the best at Cala n Blanes (5 min walk from Cala n Forcat). It was small and quite dirty - typical Menorcan cove type. We hired a pedalo - hadn't gone more than 20m from shore when we pedalled past a long brown floating object that you definetely wouldn't want to have swum into.
Whilst not a "beach" the cove just down from the Spar at Talayots had several platforms to dive/jump from - some quite high - this was great fun, although with no shade about I'd recommend waiting until later in the day before visiting. Lots of locals come down here and do some spectacular dives.
I'd wouldn't particularily go back to Cala n Forcat myself - feels like one of those places where once is great, but once is enough. If you've not been and you're looking for a good family resort it's worth a try. Make sure you go to Citudella at least once (only 15 mins on bus) though - better shops, restaurants and a bit of culture (it's the old capital of the Island)

The resort offered as much or as little as you wanted to do. There is plenty of eat out places Las Brasses comes highly recommended, if you like a steak try this place, reasonable prices too! The JMC entertainment at the resort are out of this world they are the best - James, Cat, Sasha, Jennie and Sarah. Not to forget the hotel reps who were also part of the entertainment and who you had no trouble locating - Adam (Ads) and Michael. They all work extremely hard with all age ranges no one is left out! My teenage kids had plenty to do and I didn't have to worry about them as the resort is so safe and friendly. My eldest was extremely pleased that there was internet access at the hotel, the Blue Breeze (nice pub) and an internet cafe that she could keep up with the gossip at home on. A fantastic holiday that we will remember forever thanks to the JMC crew at Oasis Park.

The resort of Cala'n Forcat is advertised as the busiest on the island - I would hate to imagine what the rest of them are like. There is very little to do each restaurant literally has the same printed menu so regardless of which restaurant you pick you will be offered the same food.
There's 1 very dodgey roof top Chinese where I celebrated my birthday I had special fried rice nothing too adventerous but still ended up being sick all night.
There's the usual amusements and bouncy castles for the small kids but all at a 'nice' price. Other than that there's your usual selection of pubs showing all your English soaps and as usual all the football going.
