Beaches

The resort was really a one horse town with no real beach and no heart. The one next to the Binimar was very rundown and full of jelly fish. Shame as all the postcards showed the resort when the beach was en vogue and it looked lovely.
Plenty of pubs, and two squares where there was entertainment provided free every night. If you like tribute bands then you'll love it here. All the entertainment outside shuts at midnight, however most of the pubs shut their double glazing and the party continues well into the early hours - 6am in one case.
Meals could be costly averaging about 45/50 Euros for 3 people. The problems with the £ is having a big effect on prices I think.
Good bus service into Cuitadella the ancient capital 1.40 euros. Worth a trip especially at night!
The resort lacks a bit of soul and needs to refocus on what client group it is looking for.

The resort is ideal for young kids with loads of activities to keep them occupied on an evening, although it can get expensive. On an evening the aquapark provides a few activities such as bouncy castle and death slide for as long as you want at a bargain 3.20 euros. You also got a free ice cream!
The hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the main resort which we didn't mind as we enjoy a walk on the evening.
The restaurants are a bit hit and miss. We had some lovely meals and some not so good.

the resort was for us, in the perfect location . away from the hussle bustle of the main town, but close enough that if we wanted a night out in the town we could. and it didn't take more than 10 minutes to reach all the restraunts shops ect. we found we stayed about the resort till about 6pm, then headed down town for dinner but we always came back to the resort for the evening entertainment. we were very well entertained by the whole entertainment team, they know how to make your holiday special. we went to the little beached area behind block c , it had a small rough sandy beach with a little rocky inlet into the sea, which we went snorkling from , it was lovely and clean lots of fish to see. but on our 2nd day snorkling there were a few jelly fish about which made me a bit weiry.there was another beach with a bar for drinks just round the other side of the cove which ws a bit better with a bigger inlet to the sea. all in all a fabulous holiday location for all familys looking for the perfect hoilday for both kids and adults .

Cala n'Forcat is probably the least pretty of the resorts we saw, great for families with young kids as there is lots of bouncy castle areas for the kids to play.We would all go back to Menorca but not to this resort. however its only a short stroll from the apartments to the town centre & there is a small water park in the town, great for a day out.Go out to the leather shops, as there is great value in bags & shoes. The shops in Cala n'Forcat are the same ,so dont be expecting to buy much.
The nearest taboconist is in Cituadella, where you will get plenty of shopping in !

The resort was well kept but don`t do much 'weeding'.Not a lot of bars or restaurants but thats what we liked bout it. The fact they didn`t stand out trying to coax you in.There was no beaches near but we not a beach family anyhow.

Resort is quiet with an array of restaurants with the same items on the menu as most of the other restaurants. it is geared up for young families. The only disappointment was the lack of shops and the british feel to the resort. It wasn't traditional enough for us and most meals came with chips! The beach has lots of jelly fish so you would need to go out of the resort for a more suitable beach.
Overall though a nice relaxing, clean resort which was ideal for our two children 2 and 6.

The resort is all English and so is the food which we found disappointing. We like to go on holiday to try the local cuisine but chips every day gets boring. The best restaurant was Giovanni's at the back of our complex. Excellent value and taste. Also worth trying is Los Delfins. This is freshly cooked, although a bit more expensive.
Most restaurants have play areas for the children, some you have to pay for approx 3/4 euros each child. I found that a bit cheeky if you were eating there anyway.
Beaches were disappointing as only small and in coved areas. No sunbeds or brollies on the beaches unless you take your own. Not ideal with very young children when shade is needed.
The resort is very clean and there are plenty of bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Behind the main street are lovely quiet residential areas.
The bus service is very reliable and of a good standard. They use coaches where you are able to put buggies and large bags in the luggage compartment under the coach.

We stayed in Cala'n Forcat. Having visited Menorca in the two previous years we would not choose to return here as it was very commercial and overdeveloped in comparison to other resorts we have stayed in.
