The food was far better than we expected, three meals a day with so much choice, every day we sat in the couples room and was nice and relaxing.
The staff are very helpful and polite.
The entertainment in the evening was good I just wish we had brought our niece as she would have loved the day time activities and the entertainment team.
Don't think about booking to go here just do it. you will enjoy every minute and don't worry about the sunbeds, we didn't put our towels down until 8.00am and there where still loads available.
All in all it was a perfect weeks break couldn't fault anything.

The place was overrun with them! God knows what it is like in July and August! The best way to describe this hotel is Butlins in the sun. If you like that sort of thing then you will love this hotel!
Our first impression of the hotel was good. The reception area was big and airy and the reception staff were very friendly. The check-in was speedy and we were given the key to our room. On arrival at the room we were surpised at how small the room was, but it was clean and tidy. My first thought was to check out the shower as I had read in previous review that it was small. They weren't wrong! But, hey, you don't go on holiday to stay in your room do you. There was plenty of wardrobe/drawer space, but our first disappointment was that there was no fridge in the room. Be warned that there is also no hairdryer or tea/coffee making facilities.
After unpacking etc, we went for a wander around the hotel. The hotel grounds are nice and clean. The first shock we had was around the pool. Sunbeds were packed in like sardines and every one was occupied. The pool was a decent size but not adequate for the amount of people wanting to use it. Normally, I spend a lot of time in the pool, but there was no chance here. It was just full of kids. They really need more than one pool at this hotel. Having said that, there was a baby pool at the back of the complex.
Now onto the restaurant. The staff here were friendly and effiecient. Restuarant did look a bit like a canteen though. Needs a bit of updating I think. As for the food - well all I can say is it was adequate. My partner and I have been to three all inclusive hotels before and I would not consider either of us to be fussy or hard to please, but the food here really wasn't up to much. I don't think they know the meaning of the word "variety" or "hot" as neither of these applied to the food at this hotel. You wouldn't go hungry but there really wasn't much choice.
The bar staff were very efficient, but once again, there was only one bar that was open, and it really wasn't suffiecient for the size of the hotel. There was another bar just off of reception but I never saw it open, mind you we were normally back in our room by about 9.30 as the entertainment wasn't for us, so maybe it opened later. As for the entertainment, i think it was good for the kids, but I personally don't appreciate a bingo night, abba tribute, spice girls etc. The entertainment team did there best I s'pose!
One other thing to mention, the hotel doesn't supply pool towels, so make sure you take your own.
To summarise - if you've got kids and have never been to an all-inclusive hotel before then you will probobly love this place, but if you don't have kids and you have been to all inclusive hotels before then I think you will be sorely disapppointed.
My partner and I always rate our holidays with marks out of ten. I'm afraid that this only ranks at about a four in our opinion. Not the worst holiday we've had but not far from it.
By the way, the weather was lovely and so was Menorca!!

This was the 5th time we have stayed at this hotel
Fantastic Hotel cannot fault the staff they never stop always on the go from the reception staff to the cleaners. The hotel and rooms are very clean and are of a reasonable size with air conditioning and television with about 4 English channels.
The food is varied and plentiful and there was all ways something different to eat restaurant staff are on the ball and clear away plates etc as soon as you are finished. The restaurant has a separate area for adults and you are directed to your table as you arrive
the hotel employ a lifeguard who seems to be quite strict and upset quite a few parents but I suppose he is only doing his job
Animation team well what can I say Johan and team always on the go plenty to do if you want to shuffle board, ping pong, French boule, archery, rifle shooting if you just want to lie and fry on your sun bed then that's fine too they have funny cocktail games throughout the day and of course the Club dance's (sunshine for me)(Ole La la la la la) and also entertain some nights as well. Evening entertainment varies and some nights can be a little strange but then again they are not just catering for me are they
We met up with friends old and new and had a fantastic time and a really good laugh what better tonic can you have
The hotel also have a courtesy bus to Punta Prima which runs every 15 minutes or so the driver is always smiling and will pick you up even if you are not at the designated stop. The service bus to Mahon stops outside of the hotel so there's no need to travel to Punta Prima to catch it and from Mahon you can catch a bus to just about anywhere on the island
We hired a car from the hotel and it cost around

We had a fantastic time. The setting for us was great. Either a short free bus ride or easy leisurely walk to Punta Prima, a gentle stroll to Biniancolla (very pretty fishing village) or a bike ride to Binibequer are the easiest options for a laid back day (avoid the VERY overpriced "TRAIN" to Punta Prima and Binibequer)The buses to Mahon are hourly, from outside the hotel. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite from our expected room. 2 large double/twin rooms each with seperate access to the balcony. Lovely sea and pool views. the food was not the best we have had on an AI holiday, but it was good enough, with someting for everyone (mostly) although a couple of the restaurant staff and the kitchen staff who bought out the food could be a bit surly, but 80% were really pleasant and helpful. Bar Staff are excellent with a smile and a gracias with each drink!! Be Aware that they do not serve cocktails behind the bar and a bacardi breezer equivelant was E3.50. Didn't try the snacks so can not comment.
Move away from the pool area and it is very quiet, but it was nice to be in the "thick of it" when the Sunshine Song was played! Entertainment staff worked hard.
We, as a family, loved this holiday for different reasons. Buzzing for the kids (except when it rains!), Laid Back for the paying parents and very Spanish for both. Would recommend this Hotel, but I would not go with First Choice again. Take a look in the Menorca Discussion Forum on this site for this hotel for the reason/s.
I've been back 21 hours and even arriving home at 2am and doing the chinese laundry, this holiday has meant I am still chilled and have still got that SSLOOWWWW holiday walk.

Overall all hotel staff work extremely hard and VERY friendly
The food was well prepared and very tasty and an reasonable amount of choice.
The entertainment was ongoing throughout the day and was very good for the kids. The evening entertainment was also good with some great visiting shows.
The Sur Menorca is in a good location between Punta Prima and Binibeca. A bus stop outside the Hotel is great to catch a bus to Mahon.
