one downfall, this year was a few local teenagers coming into the hotel and flirting with the girls and being a general nuisance.
Travel operator: thomson
The location was very quite not much to do outside of the hotel. The animation team were great and always had a smile on their faces wait till you hear the sunshine song it even got me up dancing. There were always activities to do around the hotel it is defently a family hotel.
The food was really noce lots of choice and it was always hot.

The staff are very helpful and speak good English. The room was cleened every day with fresh towels, food was plentyfull and loverly espesaly the salads, it was replaced every 10-15 mins so didn't get cold or run out.
The bar was fine but only one which got a little busy at night time. Kids club was very good when it was on,on a few occasions they said there wasn't enough kids but the kids was wating at the club and they didn't check there.
It gets a little busy round the main pool but we found going to the kids pool at the kids club area was better as it was not so deep and verry few people used it.
The club song is very catchy "the sunshine song" it is sure to get you up and dancing i brought it for home and my daughter refused to get up for school today so I put it on and she jummped out of bed and got dressed.

Rooms spacious with plenty of storage. Bathroom on the small side but functional. Rooms spotlessly clean and cleaned every day with clean towels every day. Ladies cleaning rooms very friendly.
Hotel itself very clean and reception staff very friendly and helpful.
Food - plenty of it and varied - salads / veg / meat / fish / chips etc and lots of cakes! Snacks served in-between main meals.
Drinks available all day from bar - large measures of spirits got no complaints from our party!
Entertainment - ok - the usual, bingo, kiddies disco, tribute bands at night - rifle shooting, archery in day.
All staff very friendly and helpful.
The location is quite a way out, but there is a free bus to Punta Prima, but this is easily walkable too. We caught the local bus to Mahon - 1.40 euro for a single journey.
Kiddies pool very good for young children - at the back of the hotel - but the bar there was not open so you had to go back to the main bar for drinks. The playground was large with lots to do, but the flooring was not too safe - a very thin layer of sand over rocks.
Hotel details said you could not reserve sunbeds round pool - but lots of people were out there at 6.30 putting their towels on beds.
We are looking to return to the hotel in September.

The hotel staff are very good. The childrens entertainers are fantastic. The sunshine dance was great and we ended up buying the CD and have it on in the morning to get us up and going! Kids clubs 2 hours in morning and 2 in afternoon.
Food was very varied and different stuff every day. Only complaint is that it wasn't hot enough. Pasta tended to be luke warm. There is a microwave there though and some people were reheating their food when we were there.
It is well worth a visit to Binnibecca beach. It is a little cove with clear water and sandy beach. There are toilets and a bar there too. You can get a little train/bus which picks you up from the hotel every hour for 7 euros each return.
We went on a trip to the water park was good too. The area is very quite. Punta Prima is like a ghost town! It was a little too quiet for us. This is a place that needs hot weather. We went for 2 weeks at end May/beginning June and the first week was poor weather. This is a very windy island! The 2nd week the weather picked up and was glorious. Probably suggest best time to go from June onwards.
All in all a great holiday and my kids (aged 4 and 6) were in tears on leaving! A great first holiday with the kids.

Like the earlier post said the weather was much duller the last week in May and warmer the fisrt week in June and yes it could be very windy and the sea from our balcony looked choppy, the next day a millpond and no breeze at att.
Hotel clean, room service great, bathroom bit small but hey you're not going to spend your holiday in there are you?
Lifts fast and nice touch to leave behind unused sun tan lotion books, inflatables etc on the floor landings. (Thanks for the piz buin!)
Food......not very hot but I kind of got used to that and haven't been having quite so hot food at home now...varied...but after 2 weeks I was getting a bit tired but not of being waited on hand and foot. Word of warning...when allocated a table don't leave it unattended as it'll be cleared and reset for someone else, quite amusing to see people come back to their table to find others in their seats, oh and look out for Cher in the dining room!
Drinks, whhoaaa they're heavy on the spirits, wasn't keen on the hand made sangria unfortunately...expresso coffees nice and I got a taste for the toastie snacks!
Entertainment team, they work so very hard and there was always plenty to do if you wanted, or not if you didn't there was no pressure like the hotel we were in last year. Get ready for the Sunshine song I wondered what wsa happenning 1st time it came on!
Location, a bit dead round the hotel, Punta Prima itself very quiet. Buses are very cheap 1.2 euros into Mahon hourly from right outside the hotel. The train is expensive at 7 euros (don't forget to wave)
Hire a car and go to Binidali beach, unforgettable, like paradise lost...By the way the roads are a dream to drive on, no traffic, very quiet, makes you realise how bad our roads are here.
Care hire from Valls in PP English speaking, straightforward and better value than the hotels/tour operator.
Mix of English German and Spanish in the hotel, so it must be good if the locals use it.
Lovely man driving the free courtesy bus to the beach, he even stopped for me in PP when I didn't make it back to the stop in time. PP beach is busy (Mahon locals use it at the weekend) watch out for Jellyfish hubby got stung but first aid on the beach were obviously used to it and treated him promptly, which he recovered from in a couple of hours time.
Would love to go again, rest assured you've picked a great hotel and you'll have a fab time!

The food was very good, the choice at each sitting is ample. I tried quiet a few different things I wouldn`t normally try and thoughly enjoyed them. Breakfast is full english with plenty of other choice, try the garlic mushrooms, strange for breakfast but delicious. Lunch and evening meal are very good. I tried some lovely fish. The cheese selection is excelent.Wine and beer on tap at meal times. The drinks at the bar are very good all local stuff but very nice. No limit to how many you can order at once. Ask for the gin and tonic week as it will blow your socks off.Snacks three times a day, pizza, tosties. hotdogs and hamburgers.
The location is a bit far from town but the mini bus is on hand to take you to Punta Prima, the driver is nice, he always has a smile. We didn`t mind the location as it made us stay in the hotel and use the facilites ( we don`t normaly stay in).
The staff were all very friendly and looked after us very well. Talk to them, we did. At first glance some do seem a bit unfriendly but we found once we talked to them they were all very nice.
The entertainment was good, some nights excellent. We were happy to sit and relax. Our son enjoyed every minuite of his holiday, he was kept very busy. During the day he joined in with the kids club. He loved the football pitch which they floodlit at night.
My favorite bit of the holiday is when they played "sunshine for me, sunshine for you" I even joined in the dance.
This the first time we have done an all inclusive holiday, it won`t be the last. The Sur Menorca is a excellent hotel, well managed, well kept externaly and internally. Not the least bit tacky like I imagined a all inclusive to be. Would we visit again most certainly.

Food staff and entertainment - spot on.
Only down side is not much in the area. But for hotel based holiday its fine. Small kids have pool and playground at back so mum and dad can relax the gap in wall talked about earlier? It would take some doing for a child to reach it.
Cleaners are at it all day.
Entertainment staff get every one to join in and kids love it. If you want to get away from it all and relax book now.

The rooms are spacious with sat TV and the bathrooms compact but enough room for a family and the shower is excellent.
The food at the Hotel is plentiful and caters for all food types,if you cant eat the food here then you might as well stay at home!!
The bar area is quite large and there is no queueing for drinks or snacks.
The pool and pool area are really clean and there is no need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a sunbed as there never seems to be be a shortage.
The entertainment staff work hard and the activities during the day are excellent for both the kids and the adults. The evening entertainment is a mix of professional shows and shows put on by the animation team. Some of the shows by the animation team were terrible to be honest. If you want a relaxing good value for money family holiday then this hotel is perfect
