The location was very good for the lovely beach but the resort has to be by far the worst I have ever stayed in with only two or three restaurants and bars that were not part of a hotel(of which the resort only has about 8 hotels).
I am not one for clubs and loud bars but Santo Tomas truely was the pits at night and after hiring a car and seeing other lovely place's Santo Tomas can only be regarded as a blot on an otherwise great copy book for Menorca.

The area is a purpose built resort with shops and supermarkets. The prices appear inflated but we had accounted for that. We hired a car in order to see some of the island, with one main road it was really easy to get about and not as daunting as it may have been driving on the right.
There are various restaurants but most do offer the same fare, the service and food was good.
We did eat out in Mahon on one occasion and the food was awfull so I will not knock the resort food.
The beach is very nice and the sea was great fun with plenty of waves for the kids to enjoy on their body boards and inflatables.
On the whole the resort felt safe and great for kids. If you want night life this is not the place to be but ideal for young families.

Quiet,clean,peaceful,relaxing....bliss!
Santo Tomas has a very safe feel to it,we were quite happy to let our teenagers out together in the evening,hardly any traffic as no through road.
Most of the hotels and apartments are set along the one main road.Two small groups of shops,one at each end of the resort,both with supermarket (well stocked),clothes shop,beach goods,car hire etc.
Shop selling good range of perfume at western end,also little snack/ice cream bar with outdoor seating,delicious milkshakes!
Pharmacy,doctor and restaurant at eastern end shopping area.
Only saw 2 bars,Halleys Bar to the east and the Victory pub to the west.
Beachfront restaurants at both ends of resort.
All the hotels and apartments welcome non residents to dine with them,various prices.
Small,clean,sandy beach at western end.
Large,clean sandy beach at eastern end,sunbed hire €18 for 2 beds and an umbrella,pedalo hire €15 per pedalo per hour (some big enough for 6 people).
Wooden walkways to gain access to beach,walking on the dunes prohibited for the sake of conservation.
Flag system:
GREEN=SAFE.
YELLOW=CAUTION,STRONG SWIMMERS ONLY.
RED=DANGER,NO SWIMMING.
Saw a life guard on the beach but don't rely on this if you're a non swimmer as he had a large area to cover,do take notice of the flags as the sea can be rough with a strong current,but there were plenty of days when the sea was very calm,when we were there the water was very warm,clean and clear. Look out for jellyfish after very windy weather,we saw a few but weren't stung.
Internet access available at Halleys Bar and the Victoria Playa hotel (eastern end).
Wouldn't recommend this resort if you're a party animal or enjoy browsing in lots of shops,but if your tastes and requirements are simple and you like a nice beach and friendly,peaceful atmosphere you will probably fall in love with the place!

A quiet family resort with plenty of things to do you never see the same entertainment twice we really enjoyed it and would certainly go back the only thing that was a rip off was the sun beds on the beach they were 6 euros each and even an umbrella was 6 euros but that was the only thing !! We would go back tomorrow.

The resort on a whole is great for young families. It is a nice quiet, very clean friendly resort.
The safe promonade is ideal to go for a walk day time and night time. Half way along the resort road there is a nice bar with a mini crazy gold course, which provides a fun family activity and a reasonable price.
Did not venture onto the beach this year, but what I can remember it is good.

The resort of Santo Thomas is a little bit of heaven. It's clean very beautiful, quite small but perfectly formed. The people are friendly they have a gentleness about them which is refreshing.It's very quiet which is just what we wanted.
