We stayed for two weeks in June 2000, I cannot believe the difference in the bungalows now. At the time we stayed they were just completing an 18 hole golf course at the bottom of the road.
We had no problems with ants, or cockroaches the children were well looked after and didn't have any problems with the food.
I still can't believe how bad it has got now. We all said that we would return there maybe now we won't after reading the feedback.

We found the hotel to be in an okay location about 10 mins to main town, there are a lot of nice restaurants and bars at the back of the apartments. The pool was really nice but very busy and you where not allowed reserve a bed or your towel would be taken off, it was hard to get a bed considering i was pregnant at time and wasnt up at crack of dawn. Entertainment very good and staff made a good effort with the children. Would go back now having a child of my own. You also have your own little area to sit outside your apartment.

We stayed here back in 03, we thought it was great.
Food good.
Staff good.
We are due to return in June 06, to see what has changed. But you do get the odd English person moaning, you cannot please everyone!

Clean but basic. Airport noise not not to bad did not bother us. Food was good and staff very pleasant and helpfull. Allways able to get a sunbed. Pool was O.K. but the deeper pool on A complex(did not use pool on complex B)started at 1.5 meters so be careful with small children. No entertainment around this pool during the day but there was around the other pool B but this was not much more than a quiz. Entertainment in the evening, Kids enjoyed mini disco adult enntertainment limited but some good nights. Enjoyed the camel safari and zoo. Complex and hotel thourghly enjoyed overall but hotel could do with some activities for the kids outside the childrens club.
BEWARE burgalries in the hotel during our stay and in other hotels in the resort so get a safe deposit box.
TIP hotel rent the use of the television in your appartment we did this for a week(4 euros per day)cartoon network movie channel sky sports etc, they give you a remote and a arial cable. Take an arial cable and a remote that operates all t.v's and you should get the t.v. free it keeps the kids quite when you are in the appartment.

Read the reviews on this place so I decided to post my thoughts on this place today 25-09-2004.
I went here in 2002 and really am amazed that within 2 years people are saying it has become a dump. I am not saying it hasn't as they are the last to have been.
The room we had was a lovely 2 bedroomed apartment. One room was done up for the kids and they loved it. I had a great time here and there was a lot of work getting finished off and the place look very fine.
2 years must make a big difference..

We stayed here in May 2002 and had a fantastic holiday. The apartments were very clean and homely. The staff were all friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was lovely with a good selection and there were snack machines in reception that sold Walkers Crisps, Cadbury's chocolates and chocolate bars and even a machine dispensing freshly popped popcorn!
There was a lovely new swimming pool in the lower "B" block with plenty of room around it and always spare sunbeds.
We would definitely go back to the Caleta Amarilla.
