Rooms in Main Hotel have more breeze and sea view. They are also closer to the main facilities
Didn't bother with the themed restaurant, the normal one was excellent.

Free Wi-Fi outside The Goose Bar between 8am to 12pm.
Try for pool view room. Some of the ground floor apartments at the rear of the complex didn't get any sun.

The Oasis Papagayo is a pleasant 20 minute downhill walk into town. If you don’t fancy the walk back then a taxi is 3 euros. The nightlife was nice but rather quiet at this time of year. There were plenty of annoying touts outside the restaurants and bars as usual, the best places being clear of them. Top eateries we found to be the Poco Loco grill, La Tasca & Slow Boat 2.
The beach is out of this world, sand for miles and plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. Some parts of the beach are nudist, and others used for watersports. Make sure you check the flags on the beach for the seas condition as the red flag does pop up on occasion, and the sea can look very inviting even though it may be dangerous.
Overall a great holiday.

The harbour and beach areas are very attractive the only thing spoiling it is the amount of dogs mess.
The harbour and beaches are great.
Wide choice of restarants and bars; El Patio, Pancho Villa and Avenida all serve great food.

Was not as picturesque as expected but great for bars restaurants and nice wakiki beach. Quite a small place in relation to majorca for example would imagine it could get crowded in high season. Was very quiet when we were there, how we like it, others may be disapointed.

We go to Corralejo for a week every April..we even spent 2 weeks there in November 07.
We hate commercialised resorts and Corralejo is quiet..understated and still retains its Spanish charm.
There are a choice of beaches ..from the beautiful dune beaches to the small child friendly town beaches.
The Lagoons at El Cottilo are amazing.
The town is on the whole very clean.
Entertainment is extremely varied...if you want loud pumping music bars go to the Atlantico Centre..( yuk not for us !! ).....for live music (the acoustic guitarists/singers are brilliant ) you cant beat Rock Island & Imagine.
We eat in a different restaurant every night and have many favourites...Fantastic steak in Tio Bernabe on the cobbles..amazing pasta & seafood at Mediteranneo..any of the seafood places round the harbour.......And! if you want to taste the best burgers in the universe then go to Las Canas ..you'll pass it walking into town from the Fiesta Corrralejo Gardens ..but dont blink or you'll miss it as its tiny..but makes up for its size with the warm friendly hospitality of Gary & Sarah..and if you happen to be in there late of an evening you may be treated to live musicians that just drop in and start playing.
We cant wait to get back to Corralejo in April .......

The resort was good in terms of cleanliness, friendly and felt safe. There was a great selection of restaraunts all serving great food and nice little bars. This is not a resort for those looking for young and lively though as the nightlife is very limited (two clubs) and dominated by couples rather than singles. However if youre not into partying all the time then it is a good resort giving you the options of boat trips to the blue lagoons and Lanzarotte and the waterpark within the resort is also a great day out.
Within walking distance or a bus ride or 5 Euro in a taxi is Flag Beach (sand dunes). Although not really near the resort but the Oasis park zoo was also well worth the visit (1.5 hr coach journey)

Corralejo itself was not one of my favourite places. I thought that the town centre could have been cleaner and there were a lot of derelict buildings, mostly being replaced on the outskirts by newer buildings. Make no mistake, this place is growing at an alarming pace, though most of it, including most of the old town, is characterless.
Perhaps we were just unlucky, but we ate in a different restaurant every night and didn't find one that we would have raced back to. The pick of them was Slow Boat V (we were told Slow Boat II was better but we didn't come to the Canaries to eat Chinese every night). We love the Canaries for the paella and chateaubriand's that most restaurants usually excel at, but after a few attempts here we didn't find one that really pleased us. We also found that some of the restaurants, especially in the harbour area, were too aggressive in trying to entice you into their establishments. In fact it almost bordered on harrassment.
As to evening entertainment, with 3 young children, most places didn't start till we were ready to go back to the apartments, but the music from the Rock Cafe did sound pretty good on a couple of occasions.

WE loved corralejo, first time there and was suprised. Loved playing quizzes and watching the blues brothers.
The fact that there were no busy clubs etc made it even more better for our family. My 5 year old had plenty to keep him occupied, waterpark is a must.
The restaurants are simply all delicious, we didnt have a bad meal once and had italian, mexican, spanish, chinese, steak too. Most restaurants give you a free shot after the meal. which is an added bonus!
5 mins walk to everything
All in all, a great holiday at a great complex and resort and i would definately visit it again.

My wife and I took our 5 children, aged 10 down to 3, for a week here in October 2007 and all agree it was the best family holiday to date. We didn't hire a car or travel out of the town apart from one excursion, didn't feel the need to to which should tell you something.
It's funny, I've been sitting here thinking about what to write about Corralejo and I'm having trouble coming up things to say. But that is, strangely, one of the reasons we enjoyed it so much. It's a quiet, friendly little town with everything you could need for a quiet, relaxing family holiday. There are British pubs and cafe's sure, but they're not strung in a line from one end of town to the other a la Benidorm.
So, cleanliness. We found the town to be generally clean and tidy - particularly the 'tourist' area along the main strip. Some parts looked a little shabby, but this is I feel because Corralejo is a real Spanish town embracing tourism rather than a purpose built resort.
The beaches within the town were sandy (perfect for sandcastles) and clean, with rocky areas with rockpools that the kids enjoyed exploring. One downside was the broken glass that was seen on the rocks and which, if anything, causes me to downgrade the beach score to a 3. Having said that Fuerteventura has some noteable beaches further out of town for anyone who wants to travel a bit further. The water was crystal clear with shoals of small fish swimming right up to the waterline.
We spent our evenings at the Oasis Dunas (I think anyone can just walk in there) where entertainment was laid on for the kids so I can't comment on the nightlife. Other than the beaches and the many great restaurants there is a waterpark within easy walking distance for anyone staying in the town. The waterpark is pricey (although saying that I've paid more for days out at Chessington and Thorpe Park) and you need to hire the sunbeds and inflatable rings (only needed for two of the big rides), the restaurant is overpriced too. If you are looking for more excitement beyond the beach or swimming pool then there are numerous excursions to be had. We travelled over to Lanzarote and went on a submarine (quite an experience), and tried usuccessfully to get on to the jeep safari which sounded good (we only found out about it a couple of days before leaving).
I only hope that Fuerteventura, and Corralejo in particular, avoid attracting the rowdy groups of teenagers and twentysomethings that can ruin a holiday for families - or more paticularly avoid allowing the pubs and clubs that attract them. As long as that holds true it's not so much would we go back but when will we be going.....
