Beaches

The resort that I stayed in was very up and coming. There were several small shopping centres and restaurants situated nearby.
I recommend the restaurant Mamma Mia's for excellent food and service. There was a SPAR shop about ten minutes up the road which was cheap enough to buy our nessecities.

The resort is extremely quiet. This is only one bar in the whole of the main resort apart from the hotels !
The beach is HUGE ! and the sand is sooooo soft with not a trace of rubbish anywhere.
We hired a car this time for the week, and it proved invaluable as we saw a lot of the island. There are no lunatic drivers and the roads a well laid out and well sign posted.

Beaches are lovely, loads of space, very clean.
Not much going on in the resort but if you are looking to chill out and are on all inclusive not a problem, plenty of buses or taxis to go to other resorts for shopping etc.

the resort had very high standards of cleanliness which was great for me and my family who had to take walks in the night to get the little one off to sleep.
outside the hotel didnt look to be much going on seen couple of pubs and thats about it.
of the few times that we visited the beach found it to be very clean and well worth visiting.

We found Costa Calma to be very clean and well laid out, with a twice hourly bus service that goes round much of the resort. The beaches are fantastic and this is its real attraction. Not much doing at night so if you want a lively time perhaps look elsewhere.Overall a good place for a holiday.

Lives up to reputation of Costa 'Calma', there is very little by way of shops and bars. We fancied a break from all inclusive and went to a bar opposite the chemist. We sat and sat and sat, it was nice listening to the music but we got very thirsty and after half and hour of being ignored left!! I reckon shop owners think we are all thieves, they watch you like a hawk. Market is good, but either I'm no good at bartering or the traders are stubborn. Did not get any real bargains (loads of fake sunglasses, hats, bags, purses and belts), only a couple of real traditional craft stalls.
Beach is wonderful, cleaned every morning, sea is crystal clear. Some days it can be choppy but what fun we had in the waves (girls - you need a sturdy bikini).
This is the place if you just want to chill.

This resort is etxremely quiet.
Very small handful of shops and one bar/cafe within walking distance of the hotel.
Disappointed with the beach, very stoney in front of the hotel, had to walk a fair distance for a sandy beach.
The majority of people vising this resort appeared to be german, dutch, italian and spanish.

The beach was absolutely beautiful and was very clean.
The resort itself was also very clean. The local shops were very basic souvenier shops, perfumerie, supermarket and newsagent. Taxis were quite cheap.
There really is no entertainment in the resort, unless you are German, all the bars are German there are no British bars at all. We went to a British night at one bar but only two families turned up. This was arranged by Thomas Cook but because of lack of interest we could not have a quiz or bingo. We had karaoke and danced and had a really good time, which goes to prove its what you make it.

Costa Calma is very nice but compared to the other resorts on the island it is very quiet. There are a few shops but choices are limited.
