The resort itself was very clean the beach was excellent. It was cleaned by a tractor every morning.

The entertainment in the resort is mainly provided by the hotel as there isn't much to do apart from a few shops, 4 pubs & 2 discos.

The area was quiet which was just nice for us. The island as a whole has very little to offer, it has no real history and as we got a car for the duration, we found very little to do. The beach was fantastic but very windy, in fact, the wind never stopped. Sea was just what you expect for the Atlantic, a touch colder than you would think but you soon get used to it and its loverly and clean.

Not much local to us. 3 bars were just around the corner (with internet access as a bonus) but again, more catering for the German holiday makers.

All in all the Resort is nice but sparce. OK if all you want is to soak up sun and get a little wind swept. :)

Spotless resort with no mess anywhere to be seen.

Entertainment poor inside the complex. Beach was wonderful, well looked after, clean and golden sands.

I will visit again in a few years time, but there is a whole world out there and I hope to see some more of it before a revisit.

Well all I can say is Beach lovely and quiet. Resort very quiet. The 2 shopping centres mentioned in the brochure are a handful of shops. Not too bad but not much selection.
Most shops shut 1-5pm for siesta.
Nothing really to do in the evening go to hotel for entertainment. If you have bad weather you could get very bored. Great if you love lazing around

Costa Calma is a very peaceful resort the beach is clean also wide and as long as the eye can see - some parts are only accessable by going down steep inclines so be warned!!

The people are very friendly - but although fluent in German their English is not so good!!

Not much to do at night apart from go round the few souvenier shops or go on trips to more lively resorts - buses and taxis are not too pricey.

Transfer time is about 45 mins from the airport.

The resort of Costa Calma is very small, but very clean. The entertainment is virtually non-existant hence the majority of hotels are on an all-inclusive basis. There are a few restaurants serving the usual pizza's + pasta's but nothing local/Spanish.

The beach is absolutely beautiful, but the wind can make it seem very chilly at times, which is deceiving, as you think you're not burning, but you are! For those of you wanting to do some serious sunbathing, then a sun-lounger is a must. As we never hung around the beach long enough, we never paid for one. Lying on a towel on the sand is a feat in itself - you're constantly battered by the wind and end up covered in sand sticking to your sun-creamed skin! When you're walking along the beach, the wind really whips the sand against your legs and it doesn't half hurt!

However, walk along the sands and you eventually reach some rocks where our little furry friends, the chipmunks, live. These are the cutest things and quite readily take peanuts from your hands. So too do the doves that hang around with them. The further along you go, the more chipmunks you're likely to see, as well as a few nudists! And at one small cave there's even 3 rabbit's who are quite partial to some Go Cat.

For all it's beauty, the resort was just too quiet for us - there was nothing for our little one to do.

The zoo isn't too far away, and further south is the beautiful resort of Jandia which is far livelier and would be our choice to stay, should we visit this island again.

Costa Calma is a fairly small resort and the fantastic beach is the main attraction. We walked along the beach front to the enormous windsurfing beach area. You will have to clamber over a few rocky areas but it was worth it.

Most of the evening entertainment is provided within the hotels and there are limited places to walk to after dinner, although we did see a few bars which seemed to be quite busy.

There are a few small shopping centres which seemed to have the usual shops catering for tourists.
Jandia and Morro Jable are quite close (a 2Euro bus ride away) and are well worth a visit, although remember to check on the time of the returning buses as public transport is a little hit and miss. Hiring a car is reasonable and the roads are very good. Taxis are quite cheap too.

Many of the tourists are German, but we found they were very charming people and with so many sunbeds there were plenty to go around!

There is a lot of building work going on in Costa Calma, so parts were a bit messy. When it's all finished it should be really nice. There is not a lot to do in the evenings however the wonderful beach that runs from the Esmerelda southwards makes up for everything. Most of it is naturist which if you are not too keen on that really is not a problem.
