Take an extra card with a magnetic strip on it. place it in the slot where your key card goes so as you can leave air con and fan on whilst you are out.

Beaches

Jandia is a small developing resort. It is fairly low key, there are a few bars and some shopping centres but it is not a place for lovers of nightlife. The beaches are absolutely fantastic, they are huge and finding a space is certainly not a problem. British tourists are in the minority and communication could be a problem if you are not willing to attempt Spanish. A fantastic place to chill out and sunbathe - we booked our next holiday as soon as we returned!

Admittedly the resort was an hour's walk away along the beach but at only 5 euros for a taxi it wasn't a fortune if you wanted to go out there. The resort of Jandia is very German but we didn't find that a problem. It was nice not to see English Egg and Chips being served everywhere! We found that the hotel provided enough variety for our requirements.
WARNING - do not buy electronic goods from the little shops along the seafront. They sell you a video camera in a black bag (not in it's box or with a guarantee) for way over the odds and when you try to take it back to say you've been ripped off they deny they've sold it to you. Even worse one of the shops tries to tell you that he'll take back your camera for you and get you your money back in a couple of weeks - do not hand anything over to them, they are all part of a big scam.

Jandia is the resort, but I can't comment on the entertainment as we did not attend any except in the hotel.
The resort itself is quite nice, and the beaches are superb, these are what Jandia is famed for.
Jandia is a a good area for peace, if one wants Benidorm type tat then do not visit!

The resort of Jandia is great with fantastic beaches, very popular with germans, plenty of restaurants all serving good value quality food,if you are wanting a relaxing get away from it all holiday then this resort is a must.
If you have children above the age of 8 then you may struggle to keep them occupied for the duration of your holiday.
This resort does not have the boom boom club culture. It does have a fantastic market every thursday.
Summing up this place is a tranquil paradise that we will definately return to time and time again.

Not very lively, it is more busy in Caleta De Fuste and towards that part of the Island. But if you want a relaxing and quiet holiday, this is the place to be.
Very clean, hardly saw any litter. A good range of shops, bars and restaurants.
Plenty of beautiful birds about, green parakeets constantly flying over.
We went in October and the weather was fabulous.

There is nothing really available unless you travel to Jandia or up the coast towards Costa Calma.
The beach was very good. Sandy and flat (after you have walked downhill from the hotel).
The sea was warm but the wind was very strong for most of our second week. July and August are apparently the worst months for high winds! We had a VIP Cruise cancelled because of exceptional high seas/winds which was disappointing.

The hotel was located a bus ride from the nearest town and entertainment locally was non-existent. The area was generally very clean and the beaches were excellent and well kept.

Went to Jandia itself on a couple of days. Lovely beach there and lots of nice restaurants to dine in.

Jandia refers to the whole South Western tip of Fuerteventura however most tourists refer to the Urbanised area of hotels and shops that line the beach just North of Morro Jable as Jandia.
As the other areas of Southern Fueteventura you will find that the population is predominantly German however this tends to mean that the quality of hotels are also better.
This area is ideal for beach lovers and it is at the Southern end of some of the finest beaches in Europe ( It is pos to walk from one fabulous beach to another clothed or unclothed all the way aprox 15 miles North to Costa Calma)
There are anumber of bars restaurants and shops if you require them I can certanly recomend the food and drink at the various beach bars. The old town of Morro Jable is also worth a visit as is a trip on the Magic Cattamarran from the harbour.
A good place to chill out, not for the Playa Las Americas fans

Jandia is alovely place, that is if you dont mind being a British minority. It would intimidate a lot of British holidaymakers but I can honestly say that we have made many friends from all over Europe. We like Jandia because it is still Spanish but it also has the righht amount of resturants and bars without loosing itself in too much tourism. We have been 4 times at the same apartments-Sol Jandia Mar both as a package holidaymaker and flight onlyand we are welcomed now as a regular visitor along with many others. The beach is a beautiful one with a section further up the coast for nude bathers. Each to there own!
The nightlife consists of resturants and bars and a couple of discos.I would say that it caters for familys with children 5 and above but not for young people who want a hectic nightlife -thank the Lord! must also say that there isnt a Mac Donalds in sight which is great because that would mean the end of a lovely resort. If thats what you want then Calta De Fuste one and a half hour away is for you,not Jandia.
