The Occidental Grande is set right near beach and you cannot fault its location but there are other hotels much better.

Jandia is a good base to explore the south of the island.

A wonderful resort - ideal beach for naturists (if only the textiled individuals would get over the childish giggling and starring and join in!)

We felt that the resort was ok but had little to offer other than the usual row of shops/resturants selling the usual holiday fayre. In all ok but never spent that much time there.Taxis were cheap though.one way (resort to our hotel) about 5 euro.(£3-£3.50).

The hotel is on its own, not in a resort so it is very quiet.A short path leads to a sandy beach. Jandia is 45 mins walk along the beach

The resort was very clean, and the people very nice and helpful, we went to the town a couple of times to watch the football, there is a great English bar that serves English food, good sausage egg and chips, real Engish beer.
The beach was very nice and clean, there were a few naturists around. Entertainment i can't really comment, but nothing stood out, lots of bars offering karaoke.

Our hotel was a few miles from Jandia, which gave us a cracking walk along the coast to the beach each day.
The main beach in Jandia is absolutely stunning. Unspoiled, light blue water, white sand, not a scrap of litter and never crowded (at least not when we went in Jan - it may be a different story in high season).
There were only two distractions from the simple beauty of the beach: naked women and naked men. Lots of them. Not one of them under 55. Not one of them in the least bit shy about strutting around displaying their apparatus, nor by bending over to pick up towels etc while in their birthday suits.
You can either find this all very amusing - which we did, mostly - or find it a little off-putting. After a while you just tend not to notice.
The few roads of shops set back from the beach that make up the resort of Jandia are pretty standard tourist-trap fare. Perfumeries, pubs, restaurants, clothes shops and numerous tourist stalls offering all sorts of throw-away tic-tackery. It's worth adding though that we received no pressure or hassle to buy anything, which you can get in a lot of similar places on holiday.
All in all we wouldn't rush back for the resort, but the beaches around the south east of Fuerteventura are generally magnificent and Jandia is no exception.
We hired a car one day and set off in search of the American Star shipwreck which we eventually found. It took a while but was absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

very clean, infact the beach here has won the european clean beach award 2005, the town of Jandia and Morro Jable are very clean and well kept, in fact nearly everything is new.
when you get home all our towns look really grotty.
a great place.
Highly recommended.
