If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

Maspalomas is on the Southern coast and close to the famous sandunes. It is a fairly quiet resort but provided you like a walk there are plenty of shops in Faro2 and towards the dunes! You have a variety of tourist shops and the east side of the lighthouse is quite cosmepoliton with prices to match.
The dunes lead down to the Atlantic and many days the sea was to rough to enter, the sand is cleaned daily and pleny of sun loungers and brollys can be hired, beware! If you are easily shocked then avoid the area designated for the Naturists! (scarey!) No discos except in the odd hotel if you want nighlife don't go here go along the coast, but if you want to chill which we did then go for it. Good tip! when yo go to reception ask for the 20 euro fridge deal where you get a few beers, coke, fanta and water and this you can then use the fridge for the 2 weeks, other wise they want 13.50 each week just for fridge loan! Once empty buy and put your own stuff in and save on the pool side prices!

The resort was very nice but we had a car which I think was needed here. There is a free bus to the beach during the day. I would visit this resort again.

A modern area, with a nice promenade linking several up market hotels (More like little towns), several restaurants, and up market (expensive) shops, a Rolex, Lacost, Guest area).
At the eastern end you have Maspalomas Lighthouse and the beach & dunes beyond. This has got to be one of the best beaches I've been to.
Most nightlife must be inside the various hotels, but some of the restaurants have entertainment, i.e a singer.
This is a lovely resort if you just want to relax without the noise & drunks.
But there are also plenty of taxis to take you further afield if you wish, if you want more nightlife.

Its about 40 mins walk to the beach, but you can get a bus. We never saw any entertainment but we went out of season. Taxi fares are reasonable. Easy walking distance to huge park with grounds to walk in and games/ play area/sand for children. Also close to Holiday world - an excellant fun park thats got loads of rides.

Quite an upmarket resort and not what we are used to when visiting the Canaries. The resort seemed to cater for older couples and English and German seemed to be spoken widely in restaurants and shops. For families there isn't too much to do unless you want to sit on the beach all day .... even exploring the sand dunes isn't an option for a family with young children as it is used by nudists. Probably this resort is best suited to couples.

Maspalomas is great if you have a family. Loads of bars and restaurants. The taxis are so cheap that you get ride to Playa Del Inglis for about 6 euros where ther is plenty goiing on at night. You can wal to Melanores which is very upmarket- a great place to watch the sun set over a drink or three.

Hotel so good we didn't really see the resort. Very good new promenade all the sea front. Rubbish shopping malls.
