If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

The resort overall was very impressive. If you wanted to get a taxi to the neighbouring resort of Playa del Ingles this would only cost you 4 euros. The entertainment was very amusing. Most of the time it consisted of the entertainment team doing dance routines to popular music and doing shows such as Music through the Ages and Music in Cinema. This resort had a very very high ratio of German. Our Rep told us that the Riu organisation was German owned and so could explain the popularity with the German holidaymakers. Believe me their presence was known - by 8.45am they would be either putting out their towels on sunbeds or even slapping on the suncream ready for a whole days worth of sunbaking! Besides this we always managed to get a sunbeds.

The resort of Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas is brilliant. It is tidy and neat, although there is a lot of hotels.
The entertainment is fantastic and there is somthing for everyone there.
The beach is lovely as well, golden sand and clean waters, although when you get so far along it turns nude, but that didn't bother us.
I would love to go back here as it was one of, if not the best holiday we have had!

The resort of Maspalomas and nearby Playa de Ingles are as clean as any other Spanish resorts I have visited.
The b each at Playa is well kept and, unlike some of the more Majorca-type areas are not plagued with fruit selling nuisances.
The resort entertainment will not suit everybody, but will depend upon where you visit.
Word of warning, if you have strong sexual opinions or are prudish, then stay clear of the Yumbo centre in P de I. This is the gay capital of the Islands and same sex couples are on their holidays as well.
There is a drag bar, Rickys, situated within the centre and provides a good nights entertainment for even the most straight laced people, with two 'Lily Savage' type fellas scoring points off all the straights in the bar.

Maspalomas is beautiful, you must see the sand-dunes. Anything west of the Faro lighthouse is very continental and clean. To the east (towards to dunes) it gets more tacky with brit pubs and plastic table cloths.

Resort was fine, weather was mid 30's, local shops and bars about 2-3 euros in a taxi.

The resort was clean tidy we felt ok there, the supermarket on site was top an there when you needed it, we had a good time there, it is a good holiday we all thought.

maspalomas is an excellent resort suitable for families some nice shops and the boulevard on the front is excellent.beach is excellent and the dunes amazing.i would say to anyone visit maspalomas as it is slightly more upmarket than nearby playa del ingles

The accomodation was excelent even though fans were sold out so it was difficult to sleep it was clean, and well kept. Purchasing a safe is strongly recomended due to some theifs breaking into rooms.
Entertainment ... not much to be said, through the day there was darts and waterball for kids, again at night a minidisco (in german) for the kids and then for the adults "super bingo" - every night! again all in german even though most of the tourists were english.
Maspalomas Sand Dunes... very busy, very expensive little shops but a free bus is available with hotel card. Playa des Ingles beach... again very busy but much better facilities than the sand dunes.
Overall the holiday was fantastic, visits to the local Palmitos Park is a must at only 17euros its a whole day out and well worth the money. We would definatly return again.

We stayed in Mas palomas. It was a very clean resort and did not encounter any trouble.
The night was great, you could choose from a variety of areas to go to depending on what sort of entertainment you required.
