If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

The resort of Sonnenland had nothing. Had to catch bus or taxi into Maspalomas which we did a few times. The ratings I have given are for Sonneland NOT Maspolomas.
Maspalomas was clean and quite exclusive. Not loads there but was some lovely restaurants and bars and a nice beach. Some designer shops as well. Would go back to Maspalomas again.

The resort of Maspalomas is beautiful, however very quiet. The shops and restaurants are not within walking distance, but with taxis only costing a few euros, no more than 4euros to centre of Maspalomas. The Faro2 is the closest shopping centre, which is about a 20minute walk. There is also the Kasbah and Plaza shopping centre in the nearby resort of Playa del Ingles. Great fun for families is Holiday World...with there being a Ferris Wheel!! There are restaurants on the upper level aswell... Would visit this resort again, beautiful place.

Sonnenland is like being in the middle of the best theme park but you can't go on any of the rides because you can't reach them.
It is not a holiday resort. It is a residential resort. There are no choice of restuarants, shops and its miles to walk to Playa De Ingles or Maspolomas.

The resort itself was lovely with very trendy designers and a variety of shops.
The beach area was clean and tidy and sunbeds ands parasols were plentiful. Sand screens were put up on very windy days to protect sunbathers from the sand blowing from the dunes.
One evening latin american dancers did a fantastic drum dance/routine through the promenade and shopping area.

Amodores was beatuful very clean, quaint and unspoilt, not too commercial even thought manmade.
Few bars to visit at night, but definately wouldn;t desribe it as noisy, which is what we wanted.
Only downside for us is that the sea was only shallow for approx 2 metres and then dropped, which isn;t great for little ones. Otherwise lovely.

most days we cleaned ourselves. entertainment was very very poor. the beach was ok. no i would nver go this resort again, ever!!!!!!!!!!!

There is very little to do unless you are willing to go further away either by taxi or a long long walk.

Meloneras is lovely, small and quiet with a few restaurants.

Meloneras is a new upmarket resort with lots of designer shops so no cheap toot on sale. Also no looky-looky men pestering you to buy rubbish. Nice walk along to the sand dunes of Maspalomas. As with most of the canaries, the beach was black sand and rocks. Nice selection of restaurants.
