If you don’t mind the noise from the main bar area in the evenings then the rooms close to reception/around the big main pool are ideal as their close to everything, pool, daytime entertainment, restaurant, reception, bar etc
Rooms further back behind the gym are better if you have smaller children and prefer not to be disturbed by the evening noise. The pools further back are quieter and the middle pool has a nice splash play area for younger children.
If you have rooms on the lower level you do hear footsteps of people walking around above you.

Maspalomas is a relatively low key resort with regard to entertainment but that is what we like so much about it. If you want more Playa Del Ingles is a very close taxi ride away. Couldn't fault the cleanliness and standard of the beach. We ate every night at Faro 2 shopping centre, plenty of restaurants to choose from and a few bars too. We will definately be returning there next year.

This area is really smart. They seem to be spending money and it is geared for the 4 and 5 star hotels around it.
Nice quality shops and designer labels aswell as high street names. Also a casino in the centre. Take a walk through the faro centre and past the lighthouse and you are at the beach and the sand dunes. Not far maybe 10 mins walk.
Nice flat walk along the front either way when you come out of the hotel back door.
Busy restuarants and bars but not crowded in a rowdy way - just popular.
Loved the resort. In the middle to try out other areas of the island/coast. Brilliant transfer times and cheap taxis.

We found the resort clean and modern.
Although I have adopted a Vegan diet I still managed to survive the restaurant visits. I scored particularly well with the 'mixed salad' in one of the nearby establishments.(This was not the boring salad you may expect in England!).
This resort seemed classier than the larger resort of Puerto Rico which was a bus-ride away.
Would consider this resort again.

This is an ideal location to explore the rest of the coast. In itself it is a flat area for a gentle stroll to the restaurants, shops and bars. Taxis are cheap into Playa Ingles if you want night life etc. (about 4 euros Xmas 2006) or San Agustin for a long walk along the beach front.
Or Puerto Rico is @20 min. drive; maybe an hour on the bus for exploration or a boat trip to Puerto Mogan or one of the other smaller resorts; all well worth a visit. We were only there for a week so we never even got to explore Las Palmas but we will do that next year when we go back!!

Mapalomas is more than enough beach for everyone. It is very clean. Atlantic can be a bit rough at times for Kids bathing though.

A lovely walkway along the promenade lots of good quality bars and cafes with a fabulous beach with amazing sand dunes at one end .There is also a nice modern indoor shopping centre offering everything from high quality jewellery to local handicrafts and the usual perfume shops where you can purchase all your pefumes at very reasonable prices. This is quite a laid back relaxing resort not for those looking for a wild night out if that is your thing then you can jump in taxi to playa del inglis for about 4euro .

Well we just love, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, always had good experiences with the people / area we have gone for numerous years, buses are great, drivers always good with us. Friendly, shopkeepers too- there are numerous shopping centres countless bars / restaurants .
Beaches are brilliant and always clean.
With regards to friendliness we have found there is a bit of difference though from July /August main British holiday time. The spanish are a little more on guard for theft everyone is watched more down shop isles etc shopkeepers maybe not so relaxed / friendly
in Dec/Jan when us brits arent really there in our droves. You may find buckets and spades to play with (well kids) in some sand pits at some apartments, German kids really enjoy this and / but they dont seem to be out in British season for our kids to play with?? yep guess we arent trusted -what a shame

Quiet location but very easy to get to shops and restaurants. Lovely walk along the promenade towards Maspalomas and the sand dunes. Local beach is pebbles / rocks but still good.
