My husband and I visited the Iberostar Costa Calero on 24th February for 1 week all inclusive stay.

On arrival at Hotel the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with sea and pool view (the majority of rooms face the sea and pool area.

There are numerous pools, some sunk into gardens which are good here due to the slight breeze in the air at times. There are plenty of sun loungers and the outdoor and indoor areas are kept spotless at all times (without you being disturbed with noise of cleaning in progress)

The rooms were cleaned every day and the rooms were spotless. We asked for extra pillows and they were there in 10 minutes.

The restaurant is lovely and spacious, food is excellent at all meals. Only fault I had was that at night you have to take A WHOLE BOTTLE OF WINE- not served by the glass at night!!!! (Not really a big fault - they do label it and keep any you leave for the next night- WILLPOWER!!!!)

The special meal that is an option for all-inclusive guests is Moroccan theme and very unusual. It was actually very nice not to have to decide what you are going to have to eat from the 20 choices in the main restaurant, which are all lovely, especially the seafood dishes - a choice of 2 starters and main courses and sweets were all lovely. We would recommend you try it. I put on 4 lbs during the week and that was even with me going to the gym for 1 hour every morning before breakfast and all the walking we done.

The entertainment during the day looked fun - we never took part just watched. The evening entertainment was good, it was done well with few bodies. The best night was the 'The Lion King' the staff performed brilliantly with the help of a few holidaymakers taking part as well. The set, make-up, costumes and lighting etc were brilliant. Our only moan was that ones the main part was over at about 10.30 there was nothing else on offer, even if a selection of decent music was put on it would encourage people to stay up.

Someone in one of the reviews I read said the hotel is very up market - and you have to dress up at night. Not true, the hotel is lovely - and if you want to go to dinner in jeans that is fine as long it is not shorts (for men).

One big fault is that the drink is tooo strong, slight hangover after first night!! We were told that the bar staff were slow to discourage too much drink for all-inclusive - this is not the case - the waitress service at night is very good and the bar staff are friendly and quick. The house cocktails were lovely and refreshing for a wee change from the normal drinks.

There are no tea making facilities (I did hear a few of the older ones complaining about that) in the rooms but you can get tea and coffee at all the bars and we took one up to our room occasionally, it is not a problem.
