I was so surprised by this hotel. We paid a minimal amount for the time of year and I was expecting grot. I thought it was absolutely wonderful for the price.
We had two small children (in buggies) and a disabled uncle travelling with us, the hotel staff had considered this when allocating our rooms.
The rooms were kept clean regularly and small welcome packs were left on our arrival. A bottle of water in the fridge is a welcomed sight when you arrive at 11pm and the shops are shut.
Granted the hotel is situated up a steep hill but the taxi's in Lanzarote are so cheap you don't begrudge using them and there is enough bars in the area that you really don't need to go too far for a good night out.
My main criticism, as is most other people's, is the pool bar. It does close at 5pm on the dot and doesn't open until 11am. With the pool open, and very busy until 8pm it would have been nice to have left it open a little longer.
The BBQ night is a nice idea, but the gentleman who runs it is very arrogant and therefore it seemed to make it less enjoyable. We have very small children with us and he was visibly unhappy with their noise.
On saying that, the pool area with the little pool for the children was laid out lovely and were able to let the children play without disturbing the other guests too much.
All in all I thought this was excellent value for money and I would definite use these apartments in the future.

Just not a great hotel. Maybe it was the time of year, but it just seemed a bit lifeless.
What little people we met in the hotel weren't too interested in mixing with others.
The staff were friendly but very quiet and reserved.
The location was fine for us but would definitely cause problem's for people with disabilities, as it's quite far uphill.
Can't comment on entertainment because I didn't see any.

I notice the previous poster was correct in all their facts from my own experience. It wasn't bad, but wasn't somewhere I could say was good either. There were many factors I noted that I could have done without....
1. Very loud karaoke (plenty of out-of-key singing and shouting) and partying at least 2 nights til at least 3am downstairs somewhere.
2. Poolside bar only open til 5pm, except on a Tues when there was a sparsely attended barby without entertainment. Nothing for kids to do at that time of year.
3. Dirty floors in apartments, and under settee, which isn't fun when you have a kid who likes to play on the floor. Cleaning was not the kind of standard I expect.
4. No air con, but you can rent a fan from reception. Very hot and stuffy, and you need to keep your curtains closed during the day on the patio doors.
5. Reception closes most of the day, so it's best to use the back gate all the time. Less stairs so we always used that access.
6. For families with kids, expect little choice when you have to stay in past their bedtime. Rental of TV (2 euros a day) has one English speaking sports, cartoon, news and again only one movie channel.
On the positive side....
1. Sea views in most apartments, pool view in others.
2. 2 Supermarkets underneath, a cash point, a pharmacy, gift shop, a few nice places for breakfast close by.
3. Nice pool area for sunbathing, small enough to keep a watchful eye on the kids. You can rent a sunbed matress for 1 euro a day.
4. Internet access in reception.
5. No cockroaches :)
Had a good holiday, but didn't feel like we'd go back there as there isn't anything special about it. Will try another one next time.
Would suit a couple without kids, who just need a place to lay their heads and get changed to go out all the time.

when we arrived by coach two girls that were staying in la florida also looked at me and said they hoped this wasn't where we were staying. from the outside it looked bad. it was over a supermarket and a bar. (this wasn't too bad as we had music all night from the bar.) the reception closes at 1pm untill 5pm then reopens untill 9pm (8pm on sundays) although the guy on reception was very nice. our apartment was over the bar and when we went into the kitchen/ sitting area there was a bad smell it got worse when the balcony door was closed. the cleaners were in every morning apart from 2 days but even so the apartment wasn't cleaned properlly. the bed clothes were changed once for the two week stay and the towels twice. there was no air conditioning and we had to pay for the tv. it was situated up a hill in the old town of puerto del carmen and even though this is a lovely part of lanzarote the la florida apatments are not that disability friendly. also because the recpetion closes early we had to enter and exit the complex through a dark side street... the cats come out to go throught the bins at night so be aware.
