The best holiday we've ever been on out of 20.
My son is a really fussy eater but ate extreamly well during our weeks stay at the Ocean Palace aparthotel, the only slight letdown was the location but only slightly (It's at the top of a hill) it's not very steep but it's long when you get to the top its a great view of the sea.
All rooms have a sea and pool view.
The pool and facilities were great so was the entertainment.
The rooms were massive the first time we have had a microwave. My husband thought it was great because he didn't have to sleep on a camp bed, large bedroom and bathroom ,huge balcony.
I would definitely recommend the Ocean Palace to anyone.

I stayed at the Ocean Palace between June 11 and June 26th 2002.
I read previous reports on the holiday truths page and found these to be very accurate and informative.
The hotel reception area is impressive with marble floors a water feature and grand stairs leading to a seating area with sofas and chairs.
Our room was very clean, well designed and maintained. The kitchen area was equipped with a microwave, toaster, fridge and hob. It did have a televison but this required payment. The room does have a safe which you pay for locally .
There are 2 main pools and a baby pool. These are clean and well maintained, although I agree with previous comments about the slippy poolside. Sun beds were available but umbrellas were in short supply which was a problem with a small child. Although the rep asked guests at the welcome meeting not to reserve beds/umbrellas, but this was common practice and you had to get up early to get one. The poolside bar/snack menu was good, although the supermarket on site was expensive and not well stocked.
Our child was too young to use the Kids club but there is a Little Tykes climbing frame/slide and trampoline (cost 1 euro for approx 2 mins)plus a few video game machines to occupy them for a while.
Entertainment during the day consisted of daily 5-a-side football game for kids and adults and water polo. The evening entertainment was good with a range of artists, quizzes, Karaoke, kids disco and bingo.
We were self catering but you can dine in the help yourself, buffet style restaurant. The buffet breakfast was very good value (5 euros) which included cereals, fruit, coffee, juice, cheese, ham, bacon, sausage, beans etc
The serve yourself buffet style evening meal cost 10 euros and to me while the choice could not be faulted it was average and we only ate there once.
The reps were always available and very enthusiastic. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly
The hotel is located in a quiet area and is about 15 mins walk from the beach front. The area itself is clean and there are supermarkets nearby. The main bars are on the beach front and the hill does become a bit of a drag after a few days, although don't let this put you off if its not a problems, its an excellent hotel.
I would recommend the carvery at the Camelot restaurant (on the beach overlooking Torviscas bay). It costs 12 euros and includes yorkshire pudding, stuffing, mashed potatoes and as much pork, turkey, beef (or all 3) as you can get on your plate.
I would certainly recommend the area and hotel for families and those wanting a quieter more relaxed holiday.

Booked this accomodation after reading reports placed on this site last year. I am pleased to say that this aparthotel is the best that our family have ever stayed, and that we will have difficulty finding hotels of this quality/price elsewhere. All the girls shed tears when we left and we shall be going again next year.
Accomodation
The Ocean Palace is spotless, with marble floors and shiny fittings everywhere. The entrance is grand, the corridors spacious and the lobby area of a high quality. Every day, staff were seen cleaning the floors, walls, windows etc. All the rooms are spacious, modern and overlook the fantastic pool area.
Pool Area
Fantastic pool for the kids, with plenty of free beds available but more sun brolleys could have been provided. The tiles around the pool are deadly. We saw many people fall, two even down the main staircase from the lobby (following a morning rain shower). Many visitors complained and more warning signs appeared during our stay. Can I suggest that the best way to warn all guests would be mention the slippy tiles on the bus trip upon arrival.
Food
First class - A huge choice for children/adults both at breakfast and in the evening. The chef took great pride preparation and presentation, with the hotel manager eating in the restraunt regulary to monitor quality. The food was so good that we didn't eat elsewhere for the whole holiday.
Staff
Excellent - we were looked after like royalty for the whole holiday.
Entertainment
First class - The kids club reps. were great. Each day, my two girls (8 amd 10) were entertained for between 4 and 7 hours. This left us adults being entertained by live local bands during dinner, followed by (most evenings) a visit to the hotel disco where live acts played (singers, magicians, commedians etc), quizes, bingo and then karioke until 2 in the morning. Rafa (the DJ) is a star with the kids, but also with the ladies!

Brilliant hotel and would recommend to any family travelling with young children. Accommodation was very spacious and clean. Food was very good and varied each night over the fortnight. Location was quiet but we saw this as a bonus. Kids loved the holiday, pool was very clean. Floor very slippy - but after a day all kids and adults had mastered the art to stay on two feet!
Reps were very good and full of enthusiasm. Evening entertainment was varied and good quality, some nights it could have started a little earlier for families with young children eg. started 11.40pm one night.
Arrived back in the UK 7/6/02.

Stayed in Ocean Palace 4 times. The hotel is very clean and the food in good. Drinks can be pricey but the supermarket is not far away to stock in on your beer etc. The location of the Ocean Place is good about a 10 minute strool to beach.
