Location
Cleaning staff were very good in our room and all over the hotel. Food was good and varied and always a smile on waiting staffs faces.
Location never bothered us as we were always glad of a walk to roam around. 10mins to beach, 5 to shops and 20 into main resort.
Entertainment was to our liking especially our kids, and that means you Katie, Nat, Stu, Chris nd Nathan .Also the Kids Club team fantastic as well.
We would visit this hotel again if it wasn"t the fact that we always try someplace different each year

The food was o.k. but very British even down to the H.P. sauce, with chips at every evening meal. The picnics were excellent. The snacks were very repetitive with toasted sandwiches, hot dogs ,chips ,burgers and pizza.
The staff were mostly very friendly except for one female who never smiled.
Hotel is a bit out of town and I could hear the motorway if I had the window open ,which it needed to be as the air conditioning was very poor.
This hotel is mainly for families not for the over 50's.
The Disco Bar was too noisy and the "Irish" Bar very uncomfortable, supposed to be no children but every night there was at least six or seven., plus all the sixteen year olds drinking pints and vodkas.

Hotel very clean no cockaroaches at all.
food nice something edible every night had many fussy eaters in our group but never had many complaints.
The hotel is located out of town about 5 euros in taxi to bars and shops, there is a large mountain behind the hotel which tends to attract all the clouds so it is very cloudy until late afternoon so really had to go to beach most days if you want a tan.
Beach about 20mins walk or 4 euros in taxi.
Entertainment staff were great especially Nathan who is absolutely hilarious could of watched and listened to him every night, the reps were always on hand and very helpful, played bingo every night then there was a show, disco bar was very noisy, Irish bar was next door much quieter but nothing going on there.
Weather was lovely for the end of September!
I have been on about 9 all inclusive holidays this was a good one wouldn't return here only because I like to go somewhere different, I think the entertainment could of been a bit better eg. more outside acts brought in.
Overall a good holiday enjoy!

There was always plenty of food selection and drinks.
Staff were always polite and helpful.
We did have a couple of minor problems when we arrived but after speaking to reception they were sorted out straight away. Maids were not making kids beds in kitchenette area just left linen but spoke to reception and the beds were made every day afterwards.
Beware of the slippery poolside always wear shoes if possible as it can be quite lethal.
Booked to stay in suite which is 4* but beware there are 3* apartments on site and some people were quite annoyed at being allocated these apparently they were very basic and had lots of problems with air con but our room was fine. Could do with a bit of general up keep round the pool area.
The only real grumble I would say was the restaurant and clubroom areas. Being August it was very hot there was air con in both rooms but we are convinced it was not working as everyone was very hot. Sometimes they open the doors which is a little better but sorting out their air con would be much better.

The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant.
The food was superb, cooked breakfast every morning with cereal, fresh fruit, something for everyone.
The evening meals again where excellent with plenty to choice from.
Entertainment was just that, entertaing, the reps did there best and succeed in making it fun for all ages although only young themselves, hats off to them.
A truly wonderfully holiday would definitely go back as the whole experience from start to finish was a pleasure.

The staff were polite and helpful.
The location was good whilst not near the beach it was quiet and select.
However the holiday was spoilt by the food. There was very little choice and when food should have been served hot it was often cold. Although we were All Inclusive we went out for dinner on a number of occasions.

The hotel is clean and was being painted while we where there but beware they have a [annex] it is infact another hotel that used to be called the Nogal beach it is now part of the Ocean Resort complex and is nowhere near as nice as the main building as Nogal beach it was A 3 star hotel and warrants this rating. Make sure your in the main building [Ocean Palace]the two are connected by a new wooden bridge.
We stayed in the [annex] for the first time in 5 years and the room was ok but would have preffered the main building as those rooms have a hairdryer, double sinks in bathroom and a bidet and plenty hot water. In [annex] each room has its own hot water boiler and we could just get 1 and a half showers before it went cold I never had this problem in any room I stayed in the main building in previous 4 years
The pool in the [annex] was fine and a bit colder than the main pools the pool bar served snacks and drinks from 12 till 6 pm and staff were fine
Your breakfast and dinner are in the main building buffet style and food was ok but has dipped since last year cost cutting I think since all inc was started.
The pool bar in main building opens at 11 am till 6pm serving drinks and about two yards from this you can get snacks during the day toasties mini pizza hotdogs etc but after 6pm there are only sandwiches available in the [Irish] bar and the staff aren't meant to serve any till dinner is finished at 9.30 pm and even then you are lucky to get one they seem in short supply another cost cutting measure I think ah the [Irish bar] nothing Irish about it if you ask me not many posters etc on the wall and the ones that are are all English ie Carneby street and the Dog and Duck London what these have to do with Ireland baffles me I heard the owner sent his son to London to get bits and pieces to decorate the pub so London is now in Ireland. The seats are the worst seats in any pub i have been in if you have been to this hotel before you will recognise the metal chairs as the ones that used to be around the pool [murder] and the bench seating is just as bad its like sitting in church very upright not comfortable at all its as though the hotel doesn't want you to get comfy as they will be giving you more free drink as part of your all inc the staff in bar are all brill as with all the hotel staff you can smoke in the [Irish bar] and no kids are allowed but they don't seem to enforce the no kids bit which wasn't a problem a Irish singer would have been a idea they should have put a small stage where the fireplace is as there is no need for a fireplace in Tenerife.
The disco bar two yards away is open at 7.30 till 11.45pm yes your on your hols and the bar shuts at 11.45 in both bars I may add and are very strict with this why not let you pay for your drinks after this and keep it open till 1am after all were on our hols it used to be open till 2am up till this year very disappointing
The bar staff again are very good and the first choice reps do the entertainment well they do try very very hard but they are very young and are trying to cram a lot into not a lot of time ie kids disco, bingo, some games and a professional act not enough time as its all got to be done by 11.45 the kids disco doesn't start till 8.30 in previous years the hotel had there own compares like last year Stacey who was brill and she knew the job had more time to do it in and the acts were of a better standard as I say its my 5th time here and acts were the worst Ive seen cost cutting me thinks First Choice have spoilt a excellent hotel by making it all inc because of the cost cutting measures they have taken [reps doing entertainment, bar shutting bang on 11.45, and poor pro acts]
Don't think we will be back unless they change these aspects shame really because it was very very good before the all inc

We stayed in the main hotel and we found the rooms to be very spacious and reasonably clean.
The food was good, but after 2 weeks it started to get repetative. The snack bar was situated outside by the pool bar where you can get toasties, hot dogs, pizza, chips etc. This area was also where the lunch from the restaurant was served which I wasn't really keen on as some days it was difficult to get a seat, and there was also pigeons flying around while you were trying to eat (not nice).
Having your evening meal in the restaurant was more like eating in a works canteen, extremely noisy, not a relaxed atmosphere, very stuffy unless you managed to get by a window. As soon as your knife and fork went down your plate was taken away.
The evening entertainment was held in the Disco Bar but by the end of the evening most people would be sitting outside as it was far too hot and stuffy in there. We didn't actually see any of the shows so these we cannot comment on.
If you sat outside you were given plastic glasses which meant more trips to the bar (this was the case in the evening). Last orders were at 11.45pm and once 12.00 came there was no more drinks to be had. We went all inclusive and thought that we could have cocktails made with the local drinks, but no you had to pay 6 euros for each one. The only problem I found was that you didn't know drink wise what you could have and what you couldn't, there was no list.
Pool area in the day is a death trap, it is extremely slippy and while we were there we saw several people fall and end up on crutches for the remainder of their holiday. As for the sunbeds and parasols, you do need to set your alarm for 7.00am because by 7.30am there are no beds left at all. They do state that sunbeds cannot be reserved before the pool opens but this is not adhered to.
As for the reps, well what can I say. We asked one of them what time breakfast was as we were going on a trip and had to be at the pick up point at 8.45am, and they stated to us that it opened at 7.30am it doesn't actually open until 8.30am. If they don't know how are we supposed to know.
Whilst we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, we feel that this definately doesn't warrant a 4star. If they want it to remain a 4 star then they are going to have to work on alot of things to warrant this.

We had a few minor problems this time, the toilet flush was broken but as soon as I told the receptionist they fixed it, (it did happen quite a few times tho) also no sound on BBC1. The sofa smelled quite bad, think this was because it had been used as a kids bed previously, I slept on the other sofa and had to make it up every night as the maid undone it every day. The all inclusive was fab although having to wear a bright blue wrist band the whole holiday was a bit of a pain, kids loved wearing there's, my daughter still has hers on now! The food was good, was a little bit confused on why they have to deep fry the hotdogs for the kids, we had to soak off the fat with a few tissues before the kids ate them, the bloke who cooks them does not understand English so basically you get what your given!! He kept calling me LOCO!! which means crazy. Towards the end of the day the ice cream goes very soft, and they run out most days.

The hotel is totaly geared up for kids holidays i would not reccommend a visit here if you are botherd about loads of "little angels"running around, the hotel staff even allow the kids in the "adults only"bar.
We stayed in the appartment block behind the main hotel which is not of the same standard as the main hotel, lovers of baths should avoid as each apartment has a very small water tank which only gives about half a bathfull of water and takes 3 hours to reheat.
The appartments are also let out to self catering clients who can be all male/female groups, we had some in the next appartment who went out partying at midnight and returned about 5am shoutng swearing banging about etc, not good if you have got small kids.
I think we would stay at the ocean resort again but only in the main hotel.
We would recommend a visit to the "loro parque" it is expensive, 52 euros, but is well worth the money.
