This is a large clean family centred hotel with good entertainment. We have stayed here twice but found that Tryp hotels merger with Sol has done the hotel no favours regarding the food. Be aware fellow traveller that it is NOT uncommon for the cooled hot food to be mixed with the incoming fresh and the cold food is allowed to get warm under those lights. The buffet servery is often messy with little supervision and tidying. The best idea is to eat early to avoid cross-contamination of the food and and the dubious food temperatures.

So, be careful if you do complain, you will be treated to an interview with the manager and asked politely to either leave his Hotel or not to eat there for the rest of your stay

Visited this hotel in January 2002 and would agree with previous comments regarding the food which I thought was poor (we ate out three nights out of seven). Meal times were a bit of a scrum and there were insufficient staff to clean the tables (this comment applies throughout the hotel and pool area). On a more positive note the hotel was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. The entertainments team worked very hard and were very pleasant. With regard to the rooms it is well worthwhile paying the extra for the superior rooms which are on the top three floors, are large and spacious and have TV (BBC1) and AC. Overall I cannot say I would recommend this hotel but I have stayed in worse!

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel on four previous occasions when it was a Tryp Hotel and found that the hotel was acceptable.

This year we traveled on January 1st 2002 with our two grandchildren, we cannot beleive the change in this Hotel since it has changed to Sol Melia, the entertainment was terrible and the abuse one party had from the entertainment manager was terrible, the food absolutely disgusting and the staff cut by half, no air conditioning at all.

The staff on the desk could not be bothered with anything, and talking with the waiters that were left, that we know they were all talking of leaving as the extra work they had to do for no extra money.

Would not recommend this hotel now to my worst enemy.

Stay away as the Holiday Reps are as bad as the staff, you have been warned.
