Upgrade to superior room, Higher up and therefore quieter, much larger. Don't keep your key card anywhere near a mobile phone as it can strip the information from the card which I found out to my cost as I was on the 13th floor.

The people at book it now were brilliant at getting my request done which was sea view and large terrace
Tips for others going request at the beginning a sea view as we did this and had a lovely one.

Were in this apartment B-302. Well equipped and comfortable, buna guidance afternoon sun on the terrace overlooking one of the pools and the beach.
There are luxury apartments but they are quiet and comfortable, with plenty of light.

Roadworks, building work, cranes everywhere,rude locals, the worst place we have ever been to.

Great place to stay, we were not disappointed!
Good places to eat;
Beer Engine - Good honest grub, very reasonably priced in a friendly atmosphere, lots of sport on TV which we are not into but didn't affect us at all. Very handy to the apartments. We ate here twice, and even though Don (I think, sorry but it has been a couple of weeks) reckoned he knew how to make Rock Shandy (50/50 Club Orange & Club Lemon) we have our doubts (he he, sorry Don). Great place to wind the day up and delicious puds.
Typical meal €25, great value for money and nothing was too much trouble.
Little Italy - More expensive, but very nice. Typical €55 meal for 3A 1C not so good value for money, and I doubt if we would return.
Toni Romas Ribs - Worth the trip to Las Americas, we went twice, absolutely delicious couldn't recommend enough!!! Typical €40 3A 1C, good size drinks too, miss at your own loss.
Places to go;
Jungle park - Courtesy bus, from nearby bus stop. Just make sure to get there before 12:00 as the Birds of prey flight starts at this time (and 15:00) and it is well worth seeing twice.
Aqua Land - Think of this as a dolphin show with free water rides thrown in, there have been lots of less than favorable reports but we enjoyed it enormously. Go Mon to Thursday as there are 2 shows and as with Jungle Park the dolphin show is well worth a second look. We would also pay the €50 each for the children to train and become part of the show, expensive but it looked fantastic for the children who participated. There is a courtesy bus layed on but was full on our return, we used this as an excuse to take a taxi (€8) to Toni Romas again. This was the only place we bought pictures of the children cradling parrots etc. the girls seemed genuinely friendly.
Medieval Night - Excellent night as both our girls are horse mad, we didn't think much of the drifters, although this isn't a slight on them, it just isn't our thing and it was starting to get late by this time, the night wraps up around 12:00. We all really enjoyed it and despite ourselves we found it most upsetting when our Knight didn't win, Yaa Boo sucks, that dastardly black knight, who turned out to be quite friendly at the after dinner photoshoot!!! Each adult gets a full chicken which looked a little under cooked to me but was delicious none the less, my youngest daughter (12) thought it was really funny you had to eat your soup without a spoon from a dog bowl (decide for yourself) and we liked the Medieval ice cream in a plastic tub with plastic spoon!! If only the serving staff were more friendly it would have increased our enjoyment.
Island Tour (English commentary only coach trip) - This was just a blanket tour we had to pay for. We only got to see the most interesting sites from a distance ie. Dragon tree from a distance up the road and Los Gigantes out the back window of the bus. We wasted a whole day and that about sums this trip up, be warned.
Mount Tiede VIAJES TEIDE (multi language, which was quite funny and hats off to the commentator) - Much much better trip. Not too long (1/2 day) and spectacular views/sights/stop offs etc where nothing was forced upon you!! The cable car was closed (high winds) which was a blessing in disguise as it works out a little expensive @ €21. each!!!! Bring something warm, as it was quite cold high up! We will do this one again when we go back.
Whales & Dolphin trip - Quite enjoyable even though we only seen whales at the start of the trip, they all disappeared after 30min. If we were to do it again I would recommend a twin hulled boat as they looked LOTS more stable, ours wasn't twin hulled or stable, be warned!!
General observations;
No problems with either time share or Lookie Lookie folks. Just say "No thanks" and keep walking, worked for us.
We tried in vain to buy my daughter a Nintendo DS but they were dearer in Tenerife (€145), make sure you check any purchase, just look up Argos/Dixons website in any internet access over there (approx €1 for 8min). I am also convinced every electronics shop is owned by the same family!
The ice creams are absolutely delicious especially the Nestle ones! I still slobber a little bit when I think of the "Chocolate Brownie" one, and only €1.50 bargain. My girls got a bit annoyed when I ate 2 in rapid sucession, but I was hungry.
Bring comfortable footwear as you will be walking a lot (just as well with the ammount we ate!).
If you want a sunlounger get down there early (we never bothered). Even though it says you can't hog them there are as always the usual tramps who reckon rules are for other people (and no they weren't all German).
Be careful you don't rub your sun lotion off as you will be burnt before you know it!!!!!!
We are currently trying to arrange another visit through "ATLANTIC HORIZONS" run by Richard & Gaynor two of the friendliest people you are ever likely to meet, If you are reading this thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Los cristianos is developing itself to cater for the elderly and infirm by leveling the roads and pavements plus installing ramps, so lots of wheelchairs and motorised buggys around (no place for the lager louts) hooray

Los Christianos is great for the family

We were lucky to see the carnival parade which was immediately followed by the cleaning department who collected all rubbish and even washed the streets and footpaths when the parade passed.

los cristianos seems to be suffering from being to popular with the british who can be very untidy discarding cigarette wrappings etc..most bars cater for the british with singers , comedians, bands till the early hours but there are also nice quiet bars if that is your thing .The sea front it self has dozens of nice restaurants offering local and british menus.

Los Cristianos is plagued by time share touts giving away scratch cards for wonderful gifts. Don't be taken in !!!
In addition to this restaurant staff are trying to drag you into their establishments. Parts of the resort are also looking a bit shabby.
That's the negative points out of the way now onto the positives.
Playa la vista beach very nice and clean but there's even nicer horseshoe bay beyond that in front of the hotel 'sir antony'
Threre is also a very well maintained seafront walkway which runs right to las americas. This is also very flat which would help anyone who needed wheelchair access.
The overall cleanliness of the resort is good and we did not encounter the dog poo and fag ends which have been indicated in other reports.
Evening entertainment seems to centre around the hotels and a few bars, however I would not recomend this resort to anyone wanting a lively disco type holiday.
Eating was anything from chips and egg to traditional spanish, you takes your choice.
Weather was fantastic during the day but slightly chilly after sundown.
We enjoyed our time here and would come again although we would hire a car to see more such as Mt Tiede

Having spent the last 4 visits to Tenerife I would return at any time, Los Cristianos is quieter than Las Americas but has plenty of restaurants/bars, the olive tree is expecially popular, there is a lovely harbour which has loads of boats coming in and out, and plenty of fish in the sea, a couple of beaches to choose from depending on how far you want to walk, and the cherry ice creams are a must, really nice resort.

Our first visit to Tenerife and all in all we enjoyed it. We stayed on the outskirts so a good half hour walk to centre and beach. Didnt like the black sand - you got filthy and it stains !!
We walked an extra 10 mins or so to a sandy beach. Paths in need of repair. Plenty for kids - 3 or 4 parks, trampolines, arcades etc they were never bored. Weather was perfect apart from last 2 days - constant heavy rain.
Resort was much much bigger than I expected and really spread out. Nice front and harbour and plenty of shops. Nice market on Sundays. We visited Jungle Park and enjoyed it - cheaper to buy tickets at tourist shops before you go rather than pay when you get there like we did !! You would think it would be other way round.
We couldnt find any entertainment near us - a few bars but only football in every single bar - so boring !! We would deffinately go back again but stay somewhere nearer the centre and beach and bars that actually play some music !!

We found clean and dirty in the area of Los Christianos.
Around the complex was clean and we did feel safe at night, however going towards town was a bit dodgy in areas, being very run down and dark, tho we never felt unsafe. Entertainment was really just music etc. coming from the bars, dont know if there was any nightclubs as we dont use them, but didnt see any.
The beach was clean with plenty of sunbeds and brollies and showers at regular intervals.
There was also some nice restaurants in the area, one being a chinese opposite the ferry port, [cant remember the name] the food was really tasty and good prices.
We did enjoy the holiday but wouldn't go back to this resort as we prefer Fuertuventura, but glad we tried this island.
please feel free to email with any questions you may have about this resort on lisajanem@fsmail.net
