Location
The rooms are very big we had 2 toliets and a huge balcony with 2 sun loungers and a table and chairs. Although we must have been unlucky on our allocation of the room as I think we had the noisiest room possible (C326) right next to the resturant so you had kitchen trolleys going back and forth all day/night and right outside the door was the table tennis where all the kids gathered.
The food was okay but it was not hot enough and sometimes not cooked enough, although we tried the Chinese and Italian resturant and it was very nice.
The entertainment team tried their best but I have seen much better and for the size and rating of this hotel we did expect a bit more.

This was our twelfth visit to the Canaries and our fifth to Tenerife and we always stay in 4 star hotels on a half board or all-inc basis. We

Our initial impression on arrival was spectacular reception area with wicker furniture clean and nice decor.
Checked in and given a map with an x marks the spot then with no porter humph your cases round the hotel.
Room allocated was superior suite 2 bedroom and massive balcony but looking onto a building site and noisy air/con unit buzzinng 24/7.
Dining room queue snaked round hotel had to queue for 1hr for table then half hour for juice and for breakfast cold sausages bacon and beans.
Dinner time poor selection of food and not heated you can heat up yourself but microwave was not clean.

The thing that we both liked at this hotel was the fact that no sun-beds could be reserved before 9 o'clock as there was security guards making sure nobody went past the chain which surrounded the pool. The pools were great with plenty of entertainment to keep everybody amused.
The only area which people need to be aware of is any drinks outside of the restaurant area are presnted in plastic/paper beakers which for some reason does not make the gin and tonic taste quite as good.

Hotel was clean as you could get and rooms were stunning, with two bathrooms, big balcony, and four beds. Location was ok with a free hotel bus goin to Las Americas every day and taxis goin to the water park(5 euros) + Los Critianos (20 euros).
Staff were kind, and speaked good english.
Entertainment was okay, but some of the family made up for it by joining in on the stage games and pool games. They also had a crazy pool game every day which was funny to watch, and was a great laugh.
Entertainment team were great and tried their best to adapt to every language.
Food was not upto much. But we booked a chinese/italian a few times and the food in there was good. Also ate out a few times as food was getting to the stage that it was the same mosst nights, with things including veal, rabbit and duck.
If your a fan of the beach, the bus is there into Las Americas but there is no beaches around. Reception was clean and were always happy to help, and the mini supermarket in the hotel was reasonable prices.
If your lookin for a quiet relaxing holiday then i would recommend the Dunas.

The hotel is operated on an all inclusive basis and is rated as a 4* property.
There are extensive views out to sea from many of the rooms and from the dining and pool bar areas.
The complex spreads right down to the coast with only a walkway seperating it from the rocky coastline.
There is no beach or anywhere appropriate for bathing in the sea so the two pools within the complex are always the focal point during the day.
One pool is heated one is not.
The hotel is large and at the time of my visit there was always plenty of sunloungers available around the pool.
I am sure that the hotel was not operating at full capacity so you could always find a quiet spot if you so desired especially if you wanted a cool area to sit down inside after a spot of sunbathing.
The interior of the hotel has a feeling spaciousness with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows that lead out to the pool areas.
There are plenty of quite plush sofas and chairs to relax on inside.
Internet access is available on about 10/12 screens at a reasonable cost.
ENTERTAINMENT
There was organised events around the pool for both adults and kids throughout the day.
At night there were two singers who would entertain from around 8pm but as most people were coming and going for dinner at this time they were mainly just background music.
At around 9pm there would either be a show from the resident entertainment team or there would be other acts brought in.
There was parrots one night then reptiles ,eagles, snakes etc on other nights.
At around 10pm there would be more entertainment mainly singing acts.
I cannot personally comment on the quality of all the performances but from what I did see it was of average pass.
FOOD
As an all inclusive package the quality of the food and drink is of prime importance to most people on holiday.
The variety on offer I felt was enough to satisfy the various nationalities staying at the hotel.
The only complaint I would have was that on a couple of occassions the food could have been a little hotter.
It could be that the British prefer their food to be piping hot.
All meals are buffet type with the restaurant staff clearing away plates after each course.
There was usually alway a beef, chicken, pork, fish selection on offer at dinner with one of them being "cooked to order".
Cold cooked meats, salads, fruits ,cheese, breads, rolls, fruit and some really nice desserts were also on offer.
It is always difficult to please everyone with food but I felt that they did a good job trying.
The dining room is large and there was never any trouble finding a vacant table(there was an area that wasn't even open so there was even more room available to use)
Table presentation was very bland ,only a knife and fork and a napkin
Coffee, tea or fruit juices not avalable at dinner or lunchtimes in the restaurant but were available at the pool bar area up to 11pm.
The staff tried to maintain a dress code for dinner in the restaurant but there were many guests who just did not seem to bother and would turn up in shorts and a t shirt. If they were spotted they were escorted out and asked to change.
HOTEL LOCATION
The hotel is located about a 10/15 minute walk away from the resort centre shop/bars area.
It has to be said that there is not a lot to get excited about the resort of Playa Paraiso as it is still under development.
Hiring a car for trips to Las Americas(10/15 mins)
and surrounding areas would be an advantage if you wanted a change of scenery away from the hotel.
There is a courtesy bus into Las Americas and back 3 times a day from the hotel and I did notice some pubic buses as well but I don't know how frequent these are.
HOTEL STAFF
I found the staff to be very friendly and dealt with any requests promptly.
ACCOMMODATION
room 518b
I had a double room with toilet and shower.
Double mirrored wardrobe, sat TV with sky news and CNN,
fridge, safe.
There was a large balcony with table and chairs and also a sunbed.
The room had a mountain/town view.

The hotel is described as being at Costa Adeje, it is in fact in Playa Paraiso. It has only one walk to the near village and lido (cost to enter)it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
The hotel is very boring unless you are a sun worshipper. Every guest we spoke to could not wait to leave.
The food was plentiful, the soup hot and delicious. Salads were fine as was the good selection of cheeses. If you like hot food do not visit. It was terrible, even breakfast of bacon egg beans etc were cold. We chose to try "Show Cooking" at least this should be hot. Chicken skewers, we put them onto our cold plates as usual and wait for it........ they were raw. Two theme restaurants on site, Chinese and Italian, reports from other guests the same, cold food. Management did not care, they just shrugged and went about their own business.
Courtesy buses run 3 times a day into Las Americas but stop at 18:00. We took a taxi into Costa Adeje and walked to Las Americas, we were so bored.
Would we visit this hotel again, NO NO NO.

We were all inclusive and found food to be very good with a good variety to choose from. Sometimes the food was not kept warm enough but we tended to choose food from the grill which had just been cooked. We were not impressed by the 2 themed restaurants - Chinese and Italian we much preferred to eat in the main restaurant as we thought the choice was better.
Staff were courteous at all times and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Entertainment was good on a couple of occasions e.g. magic show, parrot show etc. On the nights when the hotel resident entertainers were responsible for entertaining guests, it was awful. However, we would return to this hotel and would recommend it to others looking for a relaxing break in a quiet location.

The hotel is immaculately clean and our room (a junior suite), was huge with a seperate bedroom, two bathrooms and a massive balcony big enough to fit two sun loungers and a chair and tables!
The view fom our room (and most of the hotel) was beautiful, we looked over the pool and out over the mediterranean.
Now then the food, although not the hottest, was actually really nice. There was lots of choice and variety in the main restaurant and the tow themed restaurant were lovely. The chinese imparticular was excellent and we loved it.
The drinks at the hotel were on a par with those at carribbean resorts i've had all inclusive at.
The entertainment, we thought, was very good. All the evening entertainment took place in the hotel's 'nightclub', which is very well set out and the cocktails in there are really good.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Dunas Paraiso - so much so, we didn't want to return home. I really feel that previous reviews are underselling the hotel - I've been to carribbean hotels that would struggle to be as good as this.

The staff were helpful and pleasant despite some of the guests behaviour.
The entertainment could have been better, but anyone with children always seemed to have something to entertain them.
The only down side to this hotel is its location which is godforsaken and surrounded by building sites, lack of beaches and poor transport links to the nearest towns, but having said all that we have booked to go back in 2008
