Location
With regards to hotel cleanliness, to say it is such a new hotel everything should be pristine, however I do not think enough time is being taken on cleaning the pool/pool area/sunbeds as even at this early stage they are beginning to look slightly dirty.
Our room was visited every day, towels were changed, beds only changed once a week, and we noticed that the floors were never mopped. However the room always smelled fresh and clean.
The food was generally only look warm, which spoilt it as the quality of most of the food was very good. Breakfast was the worst meal of the day as everything "hot" was not of the best quality.
The location of the hotel let it down a little as you couldn't go for a nice stroll and visit nice shops and restaurants as there wasn't much of anything nearby.
The hotel staff in the main were very nice, a couple of the reception staff just needed to smile a little more. The bar staff were all very nice.
The entertainment was the worst I have ever encountered, more down to the owners of the hotel (not the animation team)I would say that they spent very little money on professional entertainment, which at a 4* hotel should be standard entertainment. The animation team were excellent at public relations, but their shows in the main were boring and monotonous. However they worked very, very hard to make the shows as good as they possibly could. The games played on various nights were pathetic, i.e. miss sympathetic and Mr & Mrs to name just 2.
We would visit this hotel again if we read reviews which said that the professional entertainment had got a LOT BETTER.

The rooms were great.
The food was fantastic but could have been a little hotter.
Entertainment was pretty naff, but we still had a fantastic time.
We are going to Bahia Principe Costa Adeja this year, has anyone been to both if so how do they compare

The location wasn't the best place for it but there was a few pubs and shops up the road. Outside there were security guards that were always on shift, Dunas paraiso had there own football/Volleyball court and a tennis court.
The rooms were spectacular except we paid for a sea-view and we got one looking over the banana plantations, but the day after we told them at reception and they were quite happy to move us.
The food was nice yet it could have been a bit warmer at times but still nice and warm. The entertainment was quite good for the children but not as much for the adults.
Overall it was a very good holiday and I have already booked to go again next year.

The food was varied and drinks were the usual for all inclusive hotels - all locally produced - although you could buy international brands at the bar. Sara, The Rep. was lovely and offered good advice and tips for touring around the island.
We booked for three shows via Airtours, which were all a short drive in a coach from our hotel - they were The Reps show, The Medieval Night and the very professional show called Raffles. These shows were quite expensive though. The entertainment in the hotel was the poorest I have ever seen. The duo in the lounge were OK for a night or two but the animation team, who were catering mainly for Spanish and German guests were poor.
One night a 'professional show', consisting of an Escapologist and a girl twirling hoops provided extra entertainment in the form of a fight with the DJ. This took place on the stage where the DJ gained a bleeding nose and black eye - there were very young children sitting at the front of the stage who could easily have been injured. The children's parents then joined in on the stage to protect the DJ. All in all it was very disappointing behaviour and a great let down to this lovely hotel.
The resort of Playa Paraiso had a handful of shops and bars but unfortunately the entertainment advertised in the bars was not on. Although most people would stay in the hotel as you had paid an All Inclusive Price we would have gladly gone out in the evening to find some decent entertainment. We feel the entertainment lets the hotel down immensly.
The themed restaurants were opened during our stay and we thoroughly enjoyed both The Italian and Chinese Buffets there.
All in all 10 out of 10 for accommadion and food but minus 10 for the entertainment. The resort has absolutely nothing for kids except pool tables and a playground if you have younger children.
So come on Dunas Group - get your acts together for future years.

On arrival, our first impression was wow - this looks lovely even though it was rather remote. This very quickly changed!! Check-in took 45 minutes despite the fact that there was actually only 1 couple in front of us. Reception staff kept ignoring us to answer phones, deal with paper work etc. When we did finally manage to get through the check in procedure we were given a map (In German) and told our room was out to the left - this is a very large complex!
There were no porters so we had to struggle with luggage and baby to find our suite. First thing to greet us was the lovely view of the building site next door and not the lovely sea view we had booked. After a lot of complaining we did get a move to the very opposite end of the hotel - again no porters available!
Food in this hotel was absolutely appalling - we stayed there for 10 days and were lucky if we had 2 hot meals in all that time.
There was not enough staff to cope so at busy times we had to queue outside the restaurant to get in and then clear and set our own tables. The bar always had very long queues too and all inclusive drinks were served in the smallest glasses possible.
The pool area was stunning to look at but the sunbeds were lined up in rows with not even enough room to get your leg down either side of the bed (if you were lucky enough to get one!)
Free bus service to Las Americas was fine as long as you managed to get on it, or it did not break down. Beware if this happens to you make sure you request a receipt if you get a taxi otherwise the hotel will not refund your fare!
We spent a lot of money on taxis back and forth to Las Americas/Costa Adeje just to get a bit of space to move/sunbathe/play with a baby and also ended up eating out a few times.
The hotel was at full capacity when we stayed and there just wasn't enough staff to cope with all these people (I heard someone mention 2000 guests!!) This hotel is definitely not upto 4* standard.

There wasn't enough sunbeds to go around but, fortunately for us we were in a junior suite & at no extra cost might I add, sunbeds were provided on the balcony, we couldn't believe our luck!
The hotel was brand new so hopefully the food will be sorted out and up to the advertised 4* next time we want to visit.

The food was not 4* but, we put this down to it being a new hotel & hopefully next season they will have got their act together.
Playa Paraiso is not a lively resort but you can easily get in to Americas by local bus as well as some of the other resorts such as Las Gigantes. The owners & staff of the bars in Paraiso are very friendly & recognise you if you have visited before.
I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel or the resort to anyone.
We have been to Paraiso 4 times before and will definitely be coming again.
