Mojacar Beach has become an ugly overbuilt hotchpotch but no better or worse than other places on the Costa that have become overdeveloped due to too much British money coming in.

Mojacar Playa has a nice long promenade and a pretty decent beach though there is no real focal point to the resort as everything is just strung out along the coast road behind the beach. The village of Mojacar up the hill has far more character however, with lots of little alleyways to explore and a great view of the surrounding area from the elevated terrace.

The Puerto Marina was so good that we felt we didn't need to find other bars / pubs / entertainment.
We would recommend the Irish Pub - Entertainment was excellent with typical Irish dancing and humour.

The resort of Mojacar is quite quiet, there are numerous restaurants of various nationality. Particularly enjoyed the Mediterrainian, Felipes and the Agora (italian). Some bars along the resort have Kareoke on at night, the irish rover has various entertainment which was supposed to be good but we never got around to trying it.
There were several night clubs, and we went to the Bora Bora bar to watch the football. The old village was nice but extremely hot during the day.
The beach was very clean but very shingle which meant that it wasn't very nice to walk on. The sea had strong currents and some days the red flag was flying which meant no swimming.
I would possibly visit the resort again but not for a few years.

Filthy pavements, sewerage smells, diesel funes, egg & chips type food, poor dirty beach, rough sea.
Worst resort I have ever visited!!! This is not for anyone looking for Spain, go to the Costa Dorada instead !!!

Had previously been to Costa Del Sol and thought Mojacar was streets ahead. Not too busy with some great Restaurants mainly the Argentinian and the Cowboy. There is an excellent bus service from across the road which brings a all along the resort and onto the next village of Garrucha which is well worth a visit. It also goes to the water park for 1.25. We were disappointed with our visit to the old village of Mojacar.

The beach was lovely, uncrowded and clean. There was a breakwater in front of the apartments and the sea to the left was rough (great for surf boards) and to the right was calm, better for the young ones. Lots of sunbeds with coconut umbrellas and really comfy foam matresses! Huge variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. A very good resort.

It was a great resort, there are lots of excellent shops and things and there is a pharmacy nearby incase you need anything!

Generally clean but shocked at the number of dangerous tripping hazards on pavements that are all too frequent on Spanish holiday resorts. This is not the case on the safe playa walkway. A very wide esplanade for an evening stroll well away from vehicles and no timeshare pests to be seen.
Entertainment was almost entirely limited to karaoke type bars and mini discos for children. One notable exception was the live music offered at "Sax on the beach". Real musicians at no extra charge and food to die for.
An inexpensive and airconditioned bus service ran every half hour from one end of the playa to the other. A bargain at 75 cents!
The resort serves mostly Spanish holiday makers so expect siesta time to be honoured (2-5pm).
For the more energetic a walk inland away from the beach area takes you up very steep streets for a magnificent view of the coastline.
The beach is directly in front of the hotel and although officially described as shale it is very pleasant with the aquamarine waters worth a plunge. Cool sea breezes made this an everyday ritual.
