We have been to Benidorm many times in the past but we would never stop in this chain of hotels again.

Never ever again!! Dont go believe us.

What an experience, you will pay for an all-inclusive hotel and when you get there you will be told that the hotel is full so they will put you in the sister apartments (Tropicano suites self catering)and you have to go to the hotel for your meals & drinks this happened to many people not just us (not recomended for the elderly).

The maid service was very poor we had to ask for clean towels on a daily basis.

The food was bland, the drinks on th 24 hour self service bar were disgusting they were not the spirits that they should have been!!

Been reading the other reviews. I was so luckey, when i went my room wasn't ready for 2 hours i did'nt mind i was all inc so i had a few beers while i waited. When i got to my room i found it large and very clean. The maid cleaned my room ervery day, wonderful. The entertainment was rubbish i wouldn't bother. The food was nice and being all inc i tried everything. Never rearly had any contact with any of the staff but when i did they were ok. Would not stay again as i feel i was very luckey and my stay was good. There's so many hotels, i would find another.

Hotel clean.

Food excellent, spoilt for choice, rooms cleaned daily.

Hotel up steep hill but free mini bus can take you out and about.

Watched some entertainment which was ok. Found staff helpful.

We would go back.

After reading the reports about this hotel before I left I thought it did not look to good, but I must admit it was OK.

The room I had was very good and was cleaned every day, the food was very good with a very good selection every day.

The staff were good the only problem was booking in, they drop you off at the back entrance do not explain very good were to go to the main entrance were you have to wait for your room.

The problem here was I had to wait about 3/4 hour, there were older people who like me had been up early that morning who were finding it hard to wait.

As you are waiting other members of the staff came there and got the reception staff to do other things that was not good.

I did not stay in the hotel for the entertainment as I found it slow, he did a quiz then bingo this took about 2 hours so I went out did not see what happened after that.

The hill was OK for me but not for older people I would think, all in all it was very good.

Just returned from this hotel and we all had an excellent time after a mistake with one of the rooms (we had a double bed and not 2 singles) the hotel staff changed our room no problem

After some of the reviews I was a bit put off but I should not have worried as the hotel was excellent

The hill is not that bad and is located very close to the beach

I would definitley be visiting this hotel again the staff were brilliant

Magic Rock is great, although on a steep hill {would not recommend to very elderly or those with walking problems}. Rooms were cleaned everyday, towels changed everyday if you put them in the bath, lovely to come back to a clean room and the beds made.

Room had a fridge, kettle , hairdryer in the bathroom fixed to the wall.

Room was quite nice, enough room to walk around in without bumping into anything. Only downside was no balcony but it did have large window.

On arrival we got told to wait at the bottom of the street while a smaller bus came to pick us up, took about 5 mins. In the reception we were handed a glass of champagne while we waited to book in. Staff were friendly, cleaning staff were great.

The meals were fine, plenty to choose from, the time of meals was ok too, breakfast 8-11 lunch 1-3 dinner 7-10.30 so no need to worry that your gonna be late, Theres also a self service cafe near the pool which you can get hot snacks from and drinks between 11-7.

Didn't see the entertainment at night has we went out, but knew there was a quiz karaoke etc.

So in all a great hotel, near the beach, not that noisy at night.

Stayed at the Magic Rock for 10 days, really enjoyed it, food was really lovely with roast beef, lamb chicken carved every night, there was always fish as well.

Didn't think much of the entertainment, so we went to the Villa de Benidorm down the road, which was a bit better.

The hill is a killer but you do get used to it and you are fitter when you get home!!!! The free bus is excellent as you can be dropped of at the other hotels, and take a look at them.
All in all a good holiday, would go back tomorrow.

Bedrooms were clean and very basic, which one would expect from this grade of hotel, however the rest of the hotel was quite dirty with discarded food and drink always in evidence. To be fair this was mainly due to the "It's free, so take more than you need" attitude of some of the residents.

The food was largely inedible although the breakfasts weren't too bad, perhaps because we got up very early and breakfasted while the food was fresh. We ate out for all other meals, giving us the opportunity to sample the local dishes.

The location was very good, being very close to the promenade and beach. The slight incline up to the hotel was inevitable, as the hotel is on a hill.

We had very little communication with staff, other than reception as self-service obviously excludes such.

I can't comment on entertainment as we tended to go out to eat in the evening and weren't back until bedtime.

There were no towels available by the pool which was a surprise, and no waste basket nor remote control in the room. A welcome pack in the room would have been helpful as we had no prior knowledge of the resort nor the hotel, even if only to advise mealtimes or internal phone numbers.

The communal areas of the hotel were very dark and gloomy, but we stayed out most of the time to avoid this and in doing so found areas and features of the resort which we may not have done otherwise, so they did us a favour.

The all inclusive aspect was quite an eye-opener as there were residents who seemed to stay in the hotel all the time to avail of the "free" food and drink. There is something quite incongruous about beer, wine and spirits being on tap 24/7, and I was sorry for the children who were left in front of the computers while parents had a massive drinking session. Obviously this is no reflection on the hotel.

We found Magic Rock Gardens pretty good.

Hotel is kept very clean and our room was cleaned very well every day. Room was pretty comfortable.

Food was OK always a good selection in restaurant and snack bar. 24 hour all inclusive was good as we didn't arrive until after midnight and could still get a sandwich and a couple of drinks.

Hill wasn't too bad for us but wouldn't advise elderly people to go to this hotel unless the are very fit. We stayed at this hotel a few years ago so we knew what the hill was like so can't complain. Hotel is close to beach and shops.

Most of the staff were very nice but there are a couple of the bar staff that didn't seem to know how to smile.

Only went to entertainment twice and thought it was OK. They did try very hard to please everyone.

I arrived at the Magic Rock Gardens on the 16th September 2006 around 9pm. I could tell as soon as I got of the bus that this would be the hotel from HELL!! I got of the bus 2 be greeted by the awful smell coming from the hotel entrance, I then went too reception to get our key 4 our room.

The staff were not helpful at all, we went to the restaurant for something to eat as it was a long days travelling so I was looking forward too having a nice meal. The food was awful it was cold & must of been left over from lunch time. The next day went down for lunch and dinner the food was the same again went to the bar for a drink as you do on your holiday well when I asked for my drink the bar man told me that I had to pay for it or or I could have a drink from the menu that was included in the all inclusive package! I thought that this was just diabolical.

Even the bedrooms were depressing. I'm not a fussy person but for the amount of money I paid for this holiday I expected a little bit better.

The only good thing about the hotel was leaving it on our departure day this hotel was not magic at all!

NEVER EVER AGAIN ( not even if it was free).
