I have just returned from the Tropicana Gardens and I found the hotel fantastic.

The food was excellent with plenty of variety

The location was great about 2 mins walk to the beach and I didnt find the hill was that steep.

The pools were quite small and extremely cold due to the fact of only having about 2 hours a day of sunlight on them because of the hotel (skyscraper) opposite blocking the sun.

Entertainment in the hotel was ok kids seemed to enjoy themselves.

After paying under

Just returned from this hotel on the 8th June and after reading some of the comments on this hotel BEFORE I went I was abit worried about going, but when I got there I could comment for myself.

The hotel is on top of a hill and there are lots of steps around the hotel but these were mentioned when I booked and it took at least a day to work what was on what floor. The hotel is very clean but the rooms were dirty. They make the beds and change the towels everyday but they only clean or sweep the floor once a week and when they did they sweeped everything under the bed. Apart the mess on the floor, the rooms are very big and equipped with a mini fridge and kettle and all the rooms face the pools and the the beach (although there are three high rise blocks in the way). But beware, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything (and I mean everything so no screaming girls when you're having fun!!!!!).

There are six lifts and two of which are glassed so you get a good view from outside.

There's a large selection of food but a bit greasy for my liking but you won't go hungry, although the snacks are horrible (reused food from lunch or dinner). They have no entertainment throughout the day for the adults but the kids are entertained with the kids club and the evening entertainment does leave a lot to be desired...although Monday nights are a laugh with the drag night.

You can use the other Amigos hotels and it was a good idea where all the hotels meet up in the evenings for shows and entertainment and their new complex where me and my fiancee had a great time.

Its good value for money, only 5 mins away from nightlife, 2 mins away from the beach and 20 mins away from the old time, but watch "Cardiac Hill" on the way back, its a killer.

Well I like my holidays and do 5 a year so I can be honest in saying, read the brochure you will get what you see.

Decent food, free nights out, use off other hotels (except the one near the market on market day!!) and lots of hills its not just the hill to the hotel its the up's and downs while you are in the hotel also.

I went in March it was not hot but we knew that was going to be the case for March, but there was things to do there most off the time in the hotel.

Food was sometimes great sometimes average,

Would I use this hotel again?

Well, less then a 40 sec sprint to beach. Only a 10 min drunken walk to main nightlife (with another Amigo hotel on the way).

Big room with TV and fridge, I will be back there when I save up my pennies.

Go there you will enjoy it.

The hotel was rather drab but typical of most of hotels in Benidorm. The pool was very poor, dirty, cold, mucky and not appealing. The food was OK.

It was nice being in the Amegos group where you could use the other hotels. Our room was reasonable but nothing special.

We went here off of Teletext which was a fair price to pay, but its definitely not worth the full brochure price!

We have just spent the new year at the Tropicana Gardens & how this place gets a 3* rating is beyond me. It is a dreadful place. The area outside the front door stinks to high heaven & the smell often reaches the reception area. The walls are paper thin. Holding a conversation with the people in the next room without raising your voice is easy,I know,I did it! One of the lifts was broken the whole week.

The entertainment was a terrible. Most nights sees a local duo playing guitar & organ, they are poor. The last night featured a duo spinning plates, doing tricks etc, they were so bad it was embarrassing.

The hotel is full of people who didn't appear to leave the hotel at all. They just seemed to go from bar to restaurant to bar. But it's their choice of course. I just wish they didn't let their kids run amok.

The hill leading to the hotel is not to be underestimated. If you are not good on your legs, dont stay here. Be aware that glowing comments made about this hotel are made by tour companies & people who have never stayed anywhere better. Avoid this place!

Firstly you largely get what you pay for. Visitors should be aware that whilst it is only 250 yards from the beach it is 30 minutes walk minimum to the Old Town.

The abiltiy to have meals and drinks in other hotels in the group is excellent. Entertainment in the hotel is poor. Rooms are adequate but walls are paper thin. The idea of taking all guests from the Group hotels to a Central Eating/theatre domain proved to be a good one and on the All Inclusive tariff cost nothing additional to the price paid.

I wouldn't go again only because of it's position and I prefer not to duplicate visits. One word of warning do not book one of the mini-suites in winter unless you take a couple of radiators with you. They are freezing.
