We found food in hotel quite good, and it was served hot and fresh.

Hotel could have been kept cleaner but what can you expect with hardly any staff. The curtain in our room was hanging off the rail for the whole two weeks also.

What staff were there were very pleasant.

The evening entertainment was dire bingo, quiz and a vocal keyboard player. We had a couple of singers in and a parrot show!

I think this group of hotels has made a big mistake making it 24 hours drinking, and why they don't watch for people bringing outsiders in for free drinks I don't know, we saw it happen on more than one occasion.

We wouldn't go to this group of hotels again.

We stayed at this hotel from December 18th. to 29th. The holiday was self arranged on the web, flights with BMI Baby and hotel booked through another company. We had a good price on this, if we had paid tour operator prices we would have been devastated.

The first two days the food was very good although there was not enough staff on duty in the restaurant. On the 3rd. day the maitre de returned to work and the food went down hill after that. Even after I and others spoke to him he would not accept that the food standard was not acceptable for a 3* hotel. We ate out on Christmas night because we did not fancy the menu but other people told us that this meal was very good.

The rooms are on the large side because the balcony has been enclosed, but the are no drawers in any units or the wardrobe.

This hotel was closed winter 2004 for refurbishment,it looks like the only things they changed were the doors to the room, bathroom and wardrobe everything else is the same with tired old fittings in the bathrooms. In ours the bath handrail was hanging off the wall for the whole holiday.

On the 3rd. morning we were woken at 8 a.m. by loud banging noises. When we went downstairs they had closed the main bar and were knocking down a wall to put in a 24 hour self service alcohol/food/soft drinks dispensing machine. The room was reopened that night but they did not even clean the tables and chairs of the dust caused by removing the wall and we had to get our drinks from the other small bar. They continued to install the machine for the duration of the holiday. The small bar was open for extended hours whilst we were there, sometimes until 6 a.m. there were never enough bar staff although they were pleasant and did their best.

There were a few scuffles in the bar with some idiots who tried to drink all day and night, there was only 1 barman with no security backup to sort this out. Four of the hotels in this group are about to go 24 hour drinking. Can you imagine what it will be like when the residents of the other hotels head for these after their hotels stop serving at midnight.I think it will be a disaster for any residents staying in these 4 hotels.

We have stayed in 5 hotels in this group over the last 10 years, but I don't think we will stay in them again. They seem to be going down fast and trying to attract the wrong sort of client!!!

This Amigos hotel offers much the same as the others, but the "Entertainment" bloke is the pits, unless you love to hear Cha Cha slide, and penny arcade every night, this drove me nuts and stopped me rebooking.

Just returned from this hotel 20th September the location is great right in centre 2mins walk to beach and nightlife.

The food in hotel was ok could always find something to eat and free beer pop & wine on tap to help yourself the restaurant itself is only small but was never packed.

All the staff from reception to cleaners are very friendly also the rep was very nice.

Night time entertainment was ok with quizzes karaoke a parrot show for kids and singers a couple of times a week.

All in all had a good time and would return this hotel again.

Our first impressions of this hotel was that it was a little run down. Although it was very clean it did seem to need modernising.

We stayed on the second floor, and the room was very nice and quite spacious, they had removed all balconies and fitted an archeway which had allowed room for another sofa bed, fridge, television and air-conditioning, this was the area my two sons slept in. The maid service was very good and we were always left clean towels and a clean room.

The restaurant was downstairs and felt a little claustaphopic due to the fact there were very small windows.

The food was absolutely lovely, very good choice and they catered for every nationality. There was free wine and sangria on tap, free soft drinks too.

I have two teenagers and we found that the 2 entertainment staff were quite good with them, they always came to find them to play water polo, snooker, rifle shooting (over 16's only) and football on the beach. There are 2 pools, one has a small slide in it. Although they are quite small they never seemed to be packed. Again we felt they both could have done with a good update.

The location of this hotel is great, loads of shops and about 5 minutes walk from the beach, which is lovely.
The evening entertainment was very poor,it was held inside.

The same DJ was on every evening doing quizzes and karoke, it felt as if we were in Blackpool and not Spain. Also we watched a parrot show and a magician who wasn't very good at all.

We booked this holiday as a joint venture with my fiance's family who were staying at another hotel, also part of the Amigo's Magic group. The ides being that we could all use the facilities of both hotels and that of the other hotels in the group whilst getting time apart if needed.

Our first impression was that whilst the location was excellent only being a 2 minute walk to the beach and the main centre of town entertainment the hotel itself has obvioulsy seen many residents over the years and is beginning to show its age. Whilst it had a lick of paint recently and whilst we were there the 2 very small lifts were having a face lift.

The food hall is the only one within the amigos group that does not allow other all inclusive guests from other hotels in, this due to its rather small size. The choice of food was limited and poorly labelled, for instance one evening a dish labelled as pasta actually was pasta and tuna bake, not so good if you are allergic to fish.

However all the food we did eat was clean and cooked properly. Due to its size and lack of choice we usually stayed for dinner at one of the other hotels.

The staff were friendly and got to know us very early on, when booking the jacussi, manuel put down our room number without asking and the barmen had my round of drinks ready on most occasions. The maid service was what I would expect, the room was made up daily with sheets being changed every 3 days.

The extremely small bar lounge for the entertainment was a disgrace, just about enough chairs for half the guests and a cheesy english dj doing a quiz and karaoke every night and only till midnight. Again we went to one of the other hotels in the group which had large acts and a more entertaining programme of events.

The pool which the hotel has 2, was ok having a toddler add on next to the main pool. The slide was a bit dangerous with kids jumping off it. The only problem here was that due to the big tower hotel next door the pool received alot of shade in the morning, some parts of the pool side not receiving sun till midday.

Due to its location and the space we had by the pool staying at this hotel was ok, I wasnt very good nor very bad, just ok, we would not visit this hotel again, due to what we saw from some of the other hotels.

Just back from 2 weeks at the Villa de Benidorm. This is my 5th visit to this hotel and I was very interested in seeing the refurbishments since my last visit Jan 2004.
The hotel has been given a lick of paint on the outside and the window frames have had the dirt removed from them.
The rooms are now furnished with wooden fittings in replacement to the white peeling tired furniture of the last few years. This gives the rooms a fresher feel.
(The beds haven't been renovated though!)
And thank god for the air-conditioning, which although my hubby likened it to the sound of a lawn-mower, was preferable to sweltering in the summer heat!
The rooms were cleaned daily along with a towel change, and the bedding every 3 days or so. Sometimes the cleaning was a bit hit and miss but no major problems.
The rooms are now opened with your all-inclusive card.
We prefer the rooms which overlook the street and not the pool as it can get very hot in those rooms and also some of the pool view rooms are obscured by trees, even up to the 5th floor.

The food has improved with more in the way of salads and desserts and fruit. Also you can help yourself to soft drinks/wine/lager now in the restaurant instead of queuing up for it at the counter.
When you enter the restaurant you are now greeted and shown to a table which is an improvement on the free for all that it used to be, apart from breakfast time which we found to be quieter anyway.
Part of the Cafe bar now holds the snacks during the daytime from approx 11am to evening, when they are served from the restaurant downstairs from 10pm. This has meant that there is little room to sit inside the bar area now, which was OK at this time of year but as we normally go in the winter ,we will be interested to see what it is like then. The Gym area that was, is now an outside seating area , under a canopy, and the indoor pool is now an extra outdoor pool. The Gym area is now at the back of the bar!

The Salon bar opens at 9pm till midnight and this is where the entertainment is held.........we did a couple of quizzes and hubby sang a few karaoke songs and then usually that was us done with the hotel entertainment. Never saw any of the shows, but a parrot show, a magic show and a kind of circus was advertised whilst we there. Eddie is the resident entertainer and has a great collection of karaoke songs, the ones we enjoyed the most being the Spanish ones.

We found all the staff friendly, and have no problem with any of them. A smile and a "Hola" goes a long way.

The all-inclusive spirits are about 24% proof...OK not the strongest of drinks, but the measures are generous.

A great small hotel in a great location!

I never thought it would happen to me. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in!!!!

It was an absolute shambles.

Food was horrid, rooms were rank and the only good thing was the clubs and nightlife.

Staff were rude, untidily dressed, and just barged in your room.

We wanted a nice hol, we tried our best but this place is the pits!

This hotel is part of the Amigos group and as such provides a free shuttle bus to enable you to visit other group hotels on an all inclusive basis. We found this invaluable, because you werent forever "dipping into your pocket" when you wanted a change of environment. As part of this group, you also obtained a free medieval night out, which the kids loved!!!
It boasts a central location, close to the beach, markets, shops, bars etc.
The food was a little monotonous but international and plentiful. There was a snack bar outdoor to avoid leaving the pool area. However, food was not always as hot as I would have liked.
Daytime activities were very good. Eva, who organised these events was wonderful and made our holiday very special. She organised:- archery, pisol shooting, darts, killer pool, pool basketball, mini disco and was brilliant with the kids. The bar staff were very freindly and helpful. Jay, the entertainment manager(temp, whilst waiting for tropicana to reopen) was not so amenable and will be no great loss when he goes!! The entertainment was being reviewed by management. The outside acts were good but the resident organist, Luigi, left a lot to be desired.
Rooms were clean with frequent bed changes.
Pool area was very shaded and sunbeds around the pool were not existent after 8 a.m. However, we frequented the Monika, on the free bus. Lovely pool!!
Would definately go again. Last year we went to Tropicana, so are slowly moving through the group!!!
