The hotel was in a great place just a short walk from the beach, shops and entertainment.

We did not originally book this Hotel but due to over booking were sent here from The Magic Rock Hotel. At first this seemed a massive disapointment but it was not so bad after all. We arrived late and the receptionist was very helpful. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

The swimming pool was not very big but was ok their was a small pool for the little ones with a slide and toys in. It had another pool (outside but covered by glass conservatory) but this was not available during our stay.

All-inclusive was not 24hrs but it did offer food and drinks from 8am till midnight. The resturant opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner and in between snacks were available which included hold and cold buffet such as chicken drum sticks, salads, cakes and ice creams but the only draw back from this was we were not allowed to take food from the resturant around the pool. Soft drinks and ice lollies were available around the pool but there was no bar as such it was just a fizzy drinks dispenser. There was always a que to gets drinks from the bar but again you were not allowed to take drinks up to your room.

The rooms were small for a family of four and that was even with the balcony taken in the room. Only 4 rooms had balconies the rest had been taken into the room so rooms cater for 4 people instead of 2. The rooms had 2 single beds and 1 double sofa bed suitable for kids only. The sofa bed was jamed up against the window in the area the balcony used to be so was very cramped and it made it difficult to get to the window.

I did visit The Magic Rock throughout the week as it was within walking distance, you can use the facilities at any of the magic hotels. It was alot bigger hotel and as such the facilities their seemed alot better. The resturant had a much better selection and the snacks were served from a different resturant around the pool area. It had a good atmosphere and would be good for families with children.

We booked this holiday 12 months ago, and having spent a week at the Villa De Benidorm, I'm gutted to have handed over my money to this chain of hotels.

To start with - the room was cramped, however this was as I expected being on an all inclusive holiday. There were cracked and uneven floor tiles, an air conditioning unit was covered in tin foil and made noises all night, and the shower head that did not stay up, and so you had to hold it in your hand, ohh and also the bathroom had black mold covering the tiles.

All of these issues would of been clearly visable for the hotel staff to recognise, but they obviously choose to ignore them.

The restaurant is in the basement, and this is the only place where you can eat. You are forbidden to take any food out of the restaurant. I imagined my holiday starting with a nice breakfast, having a snack by the pool mid-day in conjunction with several beers if I so choose, and then enjoying an evening meal with my family.

On the first morning I was disgusted to see that by 09.30am, there were no bowls for the cereal and people were using cups, no small spoons in sight, rotten fruit and terrible coffee. In fact our first three visits to the restaurant were very disappointing.

There was no snack facility outside around the pool, and no bar at the pool. Soft drinks and lollies were available at cetain times at the pool side hut, but icecream was only available in the restaurant. Basically every time you wanted something to eat or drink, you had the leave the poolside, get dressed and go inside the hotel.

Sometimes the food was nice but probably only 50% of the time. Also there was no children's section for food, which meant that if children tried to get their own food, they were at risk of burning themselves on the hot plate.

The location was good, except if you wanted to sit outside in the evening, then you had to sit at the front of the hotel, this then meant that you were subject to attempted theft from thieves trying to take your bag off the table you were sitting on. If you sat in that area in the day, you might also receive a shower from the maids throwing dirty mop bucket water out of the hotel window onto the canopy of the hotel, which then leaked through to the sitting area.

There was a lady that worked days in the bar who was very nice, however the rest of the staff made no impression on me. The hotel bar that served drinks in the day was the smoking bar, and I really didn't like the fact that if I or my children wanted a drink that we had to enter a smoke filled room.

The entertainment for the children was the worst I have ever experienced. Activities were just rountine, no thought put into them and rounding the children up around the pool, took longer than the time that the activity lasted, it was a complete waste of time. The pool however was good for the kids, with water slides in both the deep end and the baby pool.

There were lots of areas around the pool that has plenty of potential for injury. The area was un-even, dangerous and dirty looking in general. For the first three days of our stay, we saw no staff around the pool what-so-ever, thereafter there was a man that would sweep up around the pool once or twice a day.

Sun beds were in short supply and you therefore had to queue up at 9am if you wanted to have one for the day.

Throughout our say, we heard nothing but complaints from other guests.

The hotel is clearly under-staffed and in my opinion it derserves nothing more than a 2 star rating.

I would certainly never go back to the Villa De Benidom or any hotel in the chain of "Magic" hotels.

Hi there,I returned from this hotel on sat 9th sept 2006 after a 2 week stay.
I stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and was told that it had been refurbished throughout,it was obvious as soon as we walked in that nothing had changed at all.

The food was ok for breakfast but after that it was the same boiled potatoes ,mixed veg and meat for dinner and tea for the whole fortnight.
There were a few other things to choose from but nothing for my 6 yr old daughter apart from chips. We ended up having to eat out most of the time.

The pool area was very slippy and my nephew found glass in the childrens pool, but when the manager was called he did nothing about it at all,a few children got cut feet so we bought our daughter some pumps to wear in and out of the pool area.
You were only allowed plastic cups around the pool but a few people trod on glasses and had cut feet.

The air conditioning in our room was very good, but the room itself was very small with hardly any cupboard space for clothes.
The maids came in every day though and were very good.

I found the staff to be very good in both bars and the lady (caroline) on reception was really helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The director that walked round never smiled or said hello to anyone and was the most unhelpful person I have ever seen.If you go and have a problem don't mention it to him as nothing will be done about it.

The 24 hr all inclusive was a laugh, the food consisted of a few ham and cheese sandwiches and this was to feed all the hotel overnight.
You could get your own vodka, gin, beer, brandy, rum and fizzy drinks on tap all night but a lot of the underage kids were also helping themselves.

I would go to benidorm again but never to this hotel,it is not worthy of a 3 star rating.

The entertainment in the hotel was very poor, they had a parrot and reptile show for the kids but you were banned for taking photos of your children looking at the animals as they wanted you to pay 10 euros for one that the animals owners were taking.I took one of my little girl stroking a snake and the owner told me off.Too late when I'd took it though.

If you sit outside the hotel in the day or at night beware of the gypsies that prowl as a gypsy came into the hotel lobby when I was there a stole someones handbag.
You need to have hold of your handbag at all times, you cant even leave it on the table by you without having a hand on it.

Stayed here for 2wks July 15th till the 29th.

Hotel was ok but there was a terrible smell from the drains all through the hotel.

There was never any sunbeds or even chairs to sit round by the pool, they were all taken up early in the morning with no one on them for most of the day.

The lager was foul we barely had a drink in hotel for the full fortnight. The food was ok but nothing great we tended to eat out every other night.

As for the staff can't fault them very pleasant Caroline on reception was very good nothing was a bother for her.

A 24 hour all inclusive hotel, so, we did not have to go without, or go out buying food, as there was always something available, we could even make ourselves a sandwhich in the early hours of the morning.
Very clean, and an excellent service.

A wide variety of food, well presented. Drinks at the bar were not 'name brands', but considering they were included in the price, I have no complaints.

For us, the location is excellent, near all the cabaret clubs, but far enough away to be peaceful if that was required.

Most of the staff were like old friends. The only ones who were a little abrupt were the bar staff. When you see the way some of the guests speak to them, this is not surprising. It is nice to be nice. If you do not respect someone, how can you expect them to respect you?

I will not comment on the entertainment, as it was not for us.

All inclusive what a joke - pay extra for your cocktails and water. Very rude bar staff.

Maids just come into your room anytime. Air con did not work.

The best thing was leaving to go to another Amagos hotel. All the rest was a bit better.

My fifth visit to Benidorm, and my third visit to this hotel. I sometimes wonder what other people expect, as their negative comments seem to suggest that they have stayed in a hotel which you only dream about. Overall, this hotel is above average for the price.

It is as clean as it can be considering how old it is. I always look forward to seeing what new modifications are being done next time I visit!

Food is OK. My favourite game is trying to work out where the left-overs from the last meal have shown up in the next one. This is not a criticism, I hate to see good food thrown away.

Location, location, location. Not being a family man or a beach lover, this is the best hotel in Benidorm. All the best places, day or night, are within walking distance.

My only disappointment on this visit is that some of the bar staff have dissapeared. There were not many left, and I have to say, that one challenge was to get one of the barmen to smile. The rest of the staff were lovely though, as they always are.

I cannot comment on the entertainment, as this is for families, I go to the clubs and bars. I did pop in last time I was there in June 2005, and all it did was make me realise that maybe I could still do it better myself!

I think me and jules will always come back to this hotel. If you have kids, go somewhere else. If you are a stag do, go somewhere else. If you are a hen night, don't bring anyone back.

A great place for sensible, mature people, (and it helps if you are good looking).
