Really enjoyed Calella, when you walk into the centre there is a long row of shops, must go on for about 2 miles, and some great bargains to be had. look out for lovely leather boots and handbags great place.
when we went a lot of places had already closed but a bar that stays open is the alcatraz its a very friendly pub, really relaxing and very friendly, the land lord john makes the place, and Becky who works there is lovely, its a great place to be. There is bingo on at 9.30 and if your not a fan of bingo you will enjoy that its really funny , also cash prizes
Would visit Calella again definitely!!

i have stayed in the resort many times before, but this year it looks as if the local businesses are struggling.
the bars and restaurants are not as busy as in the past, maybe an effect of all the AI hotels.
it is still a great place to go for a holiday, with a big enough spanish influence in the old town that you get a taste of spain.

I'm not much of a drinker anymore but Calella had a few clubs, bars and many nice restaurants. I'd say there's something to suit everyone here except that it's maybe a bit rowdy for those wanting a very peaceful and quiet break.
There's an Aldi/Lidl style supermarket that is ideal for self-caterers and many pleasant souvenir shops. Street entertainers and artists can be found in the central squares.
The train station is rather a trek on a hot day from the centre.
Beach i a bit gritty but a couple of nice beach bars (one has a band on some nights). Beach is cllean and showers are abundant.

calella is a busy vibrant resort with the old town and the modern area along the beach and along with its near neighbour ,pineda has a bustling atmosphere and great pavement cafe /restraunt culture. you get to mix with the locals as calella is the main destination of residents of barcelona. the food is varied and very good quality. the beach is very clean with lots of water sports on offer and grat beach bars.the railway station is is central and the trians cheap and easy to use either south to barca or north to neighbouring resorts minute away. if you have never visited this part of spain you are missing out

A good resort with long beaches and no worries if you have children. Would go to this resort again as we liked the fact it was an attraction for Spanish people too and no Brit Pubs everywhere you look.
