The resort of Callella was quite lovely with the mix of old and new.

The beach was lovely fine sand but the water was quite choppy and went from knee depth to underwater in a matter of steps.

The amount of restuarants and bars gave you a good choice for the evening including the okd faithful mcdonalds and some great disco bars offering some great deals on their drink.

Plenty of other things to do in the evening including a big soft play area for the children and a bowling alley.

The resort itself I found to be quite quiet compared to other holidays I have been on. The only downside was that the drinks outside the hotel were quite expensive, if you can stomach the Estrella lager then you are laughing, that was quite cheap, but I didn't like it at all, so paid quite dear to buy imported lager. They had alot of fun pubs around, but they were always empty, which I found quite odd seeing as we went in the height of the season, so was quite disappointed with the night life as such. Found that we always ended up back at the hotel, where the drinks were slightly cheaper than outside, and although the entertainment was something to be desired, it was bearable.
Overall I had a lovely holiday, if I ever went back to Costa Brava I would stay at this hotel.

There are plenty of shops (town is less than 10 mins away) The resort is clean. Having our daughter with us meant we didn´t really see the nightlife. The beach was clean and good, although the sand is incredibly coarse. The beach drops away rapidly and steeply into the sea, so be creaful with kids

The resort entertainment was ok you had to look for it though and as I said before it was a German/Dutch resort.

Oh and dont think about getting food after 2.30am everything shuts for food!

The beach is shingle we went once nice enough but quiet.

Please please do not get on your tour rep trip to Barcelona!! Get a taxi to Callela train station and get a return for 11 euro! Platform 1 every half hour, get off at Barcelona at the Playa de Catalonia and your at the start of Las Ramblas! And the tour busses!

Do it yourself, we went to Barcelona twice, once with rep and it cost 66 euro! Then once ourselves....22 euro you do the math! Do it yourself!

I won't be going back to callela but can I say Santa Sussana looked great when we did the pick up at end of holiday.

The shops and bars were great and all very close by. The beach was good but the sea had a deep drop which was no good for young kids as the waves were strong.

The train which ran across the beach was fantastic and cheap, we all went into Barcalona for the day which took a good hour but the train was air con, and only cost 6 euros return, we also went into lorret de mar by train and that was 3 euros return.

We all enjoyed our weeks hol and would definately go again.

The beach is very nice but would benefit from tractoring in the evening to remove cigarette ends!

The sand is a sharp/gravel type that you get used to. The bars are on the beach and serve good food. The train line runs along the beach and you can travel easily to Barcelona in 1hr 20min.

I was very impressed by the absolute lack of insects around the resort, not even a fly! Lots of shops and bars and a night club a few doors down from the hotel.

Finally, play one travel agent/operator off against another as by price beating Thomson/Portland/First Choice we saved £500 and it only cost £2,950 for a family of 7 for 2 wks HB flying on mid day flights from our local airport!

calella was not what we was expecting or what we had been led to believe by out travel agents. it was quiet and not the place for a young group of people to visit. very limited good bars/nightclubs and things to do on the day. the train station is good, cheap and easy to use. that was the main port of our holiday, due to the majority of us spending it in different resorts with calella being so poor. very useful for transport for day in barcelona which i would highly recommend to anyone...brilliant day. and also lloret de mar for night out.

I liked the resort.

Can't say much about the beach as we didn't spend much time on the beach.

The street was clean. The entertainment of the resort was good.
