As it was May it was a bit quiet but if you hunted around there were places to go until the early hours. Also it is worth checking around as the price of drinks varied by quite a bit but some places were cheap and good.
The beach was large, clean, quite deserted and you could easily find a good patch. Just watch out for the odd naturist. The sea was very cold.
It was also easy to get into Barcelona by train and alot cheaper than holiday company trips.

Not the cleanest place I have visited but by no means the dirtiest.
I found the resort entertainment to be on the whole very poor.
The beach is man made and very uncomfortable, I will not be visting this part of Spain again

Calella is an excellent resort and I would definatly go back there again. This was the second time I've been to calella and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time!
There are plenty of good pubs and shops( some of the sales assistants are a bit pushy and try to sell you fake goods).
The best pub is the Alcatrazbar. The owner John is as mad as they come and he's a bit of a footie nutter. He was a good entertainer and always made me & my mrs feel very welcome, we had a right laugh!
I fully reccomend a day trip to nearby Barcalona to go shopping down the ramblas markets.
The beach was nice but the sand was made of large grains and was sometimes uncomfortable to walk on.

Calella can be all things to all people with its modern facilities combined with its traditional heart.
The centre of town with its narrow streets lined with shops can be very crowded at times but turning a corner can reveal a shaded square or a back street bodega.
The beach is fantastic with its coarse sand, beach bars and warm sea and is kept spotless at all times. The train and bus links up and down the coast are excellent and 5.00 euros and an hours air-conditioned train ride gets you to Barcelona.
If you have never visited Calella, give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

Calella itself is a lovely resort and great for shopping! The beach is nver ending although we found the sand to be a bit rough. There is also a deep drop at the sea edge which can be quite dangerous. There are plenty of lttle bars and restaurants along the main street but we found cleopatra's, beach boys and alcatraz to be the best ones!! Will definatley be going back!

Calella is a very friendly and safe area to be in,with lots going on.
Loads of lovely restaurants and bars local people very friendly.Beach very nice, but the deep shelf in the sea was abit dangerous and you would have to watch yourselves there.
We will return to the area in a few years.

There are plenty of shops around Calella and a market on the Wednesday.
We found one particular bar, California Bar which had larger 2 for the price of 1. The bar staff were very friendly, especially Gary, who came from Birmingham. Ended up going there every night.
I would recommend going to Barcelona on the train which takes approx 1hr.
A visit to the Ramblers is a must for street entertainment.

The resort was one of the best in the 70's but I feel it is need of a lot of updating.
The shopping is fab, the center just goes on and on.

Calella is generally a clean place. didnt find much to do at night, went to a local pub most nights to play bingo!Thats as much as we found.
The beach was ok.only there a few times. Not really much to see lots of shops but prices just much the same as home.
