Excellent for shopping and great for kids with a crazy golf area, bowling alley and a great arcade section with inflatable castles, whales and slides just along the main road.
The beach is large and clean, you have to cross the railway line to get to it but this is done via subways so there is no danger.
There is a wide range of shops and bars that cater for kids with play areas so everyone is happy.

The beach area was very clean although the sand was a bit gravelly. We did not go to the beach except in the evening for a stroll. The main town area was full of the usual tourist shops selling the same stuff, nothing too inspirational. As we were AI at the hotel we didn't go out much so can't really comment on bars etc. We did however take a day trip to Marineland (about 1/2 hour away) which was superb for all ages.

The resort of Calella was very busy although there seemed to be a lack in evening entertainment around resort!

The resort was very old and had one main street, discos and bar at the far end of calella and a few good eating-places. The beach access wasn't really suitable for those with walking difficulties, very pebbly. We would not return to this resort but would to Santa Susanna.

We stayed in Callella. I don't think this resort had anything else to offer. Great shops, restaurants, beaches, bars, disco, atmosphere and entertainment. The beach was really big and the sea was so clean. This is a really attractive holiday destination for all!

We found that the shops were close at hand and all on the flat, no hills to climb.
Plenty of places to eat etc. The beach only a few minutes walk, including the nudist beach which we visited regulary. People appear friendly.
Found Barcelona fountains a good visit, found marine land bit dissapointing, not too good for toddlers as there was no shelter from sun on very hot days, as you were not able to hire sunshades and we discovered you were not allowed to take your own, only shades available at resturant tables and food was very exspensive.
Dolphin shows were excellent.

Not a beach for children -too gritty - but that didn't matter - there is still plenty to do here - lots of excursions as well and the local train service is very simple to understand and cheap to use.
We went to Marineland and Barcelona and had a great time.
Local restaurants and bars are 10 a penny - would recommend the Malibu bar if you want some friendly service and more familiar food.
Supermarkets are closeby.
Cash points everywhere and the crepes fromt he street stalls are to die for!
Lovely friendly place - with a livlier area further 'down town' for those who like the night life!

The resort is great it is very clean, the beach is beautiful and very well looked after.
There are loads of shops surrounding the whole area
the entertainment is fantastic there's bars and clubs all over.
We've been there six times so far, we got to know all the staff from the bars and they even give us free drinks when we go back.

Beach is not great for kids. Water depth increases very quickly so don't let kids paddle on their own. Large pebbles at the waters edge, painful on the feet. Shingle beach so kids can't build sandcastles.
