The beach was ok but the sand is very coarse so I'd advise you to buy some beach shoes which are very cheap there. There's also a bit of a ledge when you go into the sea and gets very deep very quickly so watch if you have little ones.
Overall it was a lovely holiday and I'd recommend it.

the resort was quite clean although watch out for dog mess on some of the side streets, the beach was clean with a number of beach cafes and the prices were quite reasonable i would definately visit calella again.

The resort itself was very clean we hardly ever saw any litter on the roads during the day. But during the nights flyers for pubs and clubs and other litter was everywhere but gone by the morning.
We had an amazing holiday due to the amount of entertainment on offer for all ages. Everyone in the pubs and clubs were very friendly which made you feel welcome.
Apart from the sand, (which was small pebbles)the beach was amazing. Very clean with bins situated everwhere.
We without doubt would visit this resort again and are going in October after coming back just a week ago. Without the hangovers it was the best holiday we've ever had.

Calella is a place for people who want to go an relax without nightlife. I wouldn't take kids, they would get bored very easily unless your hotel has organised activities.
Wouldn't recommend to young couples.

During the daytime, the resort is perfect for both relaxing and sightseeing. We would recommend a trip to Barcelona; however it’s a lot easier and cheaper to take the train rather than book an excursion. The station is 5 mins walk and trains run pretty regularly. I would also recommend the trip to Port Adventurer, its well worth the long coach ride! Also try the catamaran cruise. You spend the day cruising the coastline, and at lunchtime they dock up and serve up a barbeque at the back of the boat. There is unlimited free beer and wine throughout the trip, which we made the most of. However I wouldn’t recommend the trip if you suffer from sea sickness, alcohol, barbeque and rough currents just don’t mix!
The long sandy beach is very clean, check out its numerous beach bars, there a lot cheaper than the hotel’s snack bar, and have a wider choice.
At night time we found ourselves wandering into town; rather than enduring the hotels naff entertainment - there are one or two nice bars but again nothing special, there’s a night club located next door to the hotel, but it looked a bit seedy so we didn’t bother venturing in.

The resort was clean and everything was easily accessable. The beach was lovely and the shops were great especially the lacoste shop as my son was in his glory as was my daughter.
I have since visited this resort and plan to come back again this year

As the osiris hotel was very bad we would find ourselves going to the beach for a sleep every day. The beach was very peaceful and very clean. The bars and restuarents stay open until you decide to leave. Nearly everyone speaks English and people are very friendly. In the resort of Calella in my opinion is a very nice area of Costa Brava. There are lots of shops and cafe bars in the resort town. The railway station in Calella runs on the beach and is easy access to Barcelona, a return fair to Barcelona costs only 5.50 euro and is a good day out. I would return to this resort again.
