Me and my mate both thought the hotel was brilliant. The only thing was that the cutlery wasn't very clean but it was self catering so a bottle of washing up liquid did the job.

The hotel has a mini mart on the complex so you can get everything from there, food, toiletries the lot.
There was also a pub/bar attached to the hotel complex. We found this quite cheap and had lots of fun.

The hotel entertainment didn't appear that good but then again, there was so much fun to be had in the main centre that we didn't even consider stopping in the hotel. The main centre is only 5 mins or so away. Left at the same round a bout and it's just straight down the road.

Beach is very near too!!!

I will really miss this place. Wicked holiday!!!! :-)

Hotel was excellent, very clean, staff very polite and spoke English.

Food was nice as we ate in there a couple of times, very clean restaurant.

Cleaning Staff very nice, and kept the room spotless.

Entertainment not very good as we went end of season, entertainment for children was good but then they put pre-recorded tape on at about 10pm, with rubbish music that the adults couldn't dance to.

Other from that enjoyed my stay and are going back on Thursday 7th July for a week half-board this time and can't wait!!!

Went to the Costa Encantada on 5th August 2004 and arrived home last Thursday 12th August 2004 and we had a fantastic time. Having been to the Costa Encantada once before, we knew the standards were very high, and staying there was a pleasant experience.

The rooms are clean and contain all you need for a weeks holiday including kitchen equipment (we went self-catering). Having said this, we did try the restaurant on a couple of occasions and although it was a little pricey, it was well worth the money. There was a buffet style starter, consisting of: soups, salads, and fish. Then the main course consisted of: steaks, fish, vegetable accompaniments, chips (for the kids) and the menu was changed on a daily basis. Then dessert had lots of fresh fruits, yogurts, mousses, and ice-cream (for the kids). The food was delicious!

The location of the Costa Encantada is a short walk from Fennels beach, and Lloret de Mar

We stayed in the Costa Encantada for one week and my only regret was not staying longer. The staff were first class with all of them speaking fluent english. The pool was fantastic with more than enough sun loungers for every one. We were also told that the pool was the biggest freeform pool on the costa brava. The hotel also offers two arcades with the latest video games plus a five-a-side football pitch and a full basketball court. The childrens entertainment was second to none, with the reps giving the kids lots of activities to keep them busy all day. The hotel is situated at the back of fenels and is a five minute walk away from the centre of lloret de mar. Overall i cant reccomend this hotel enough, and would go back in an instant.

Staying at the Costa encontada it was a large hotel complex with lots of facilities. Very clean. swimming pool was excellent. I was a single dad with three kids and this was my first time abroad with them on my own. The important thing therefore was that the kids loved it. and they did!! Entertainment good and all staff very helpful. Food and drink at poolside was also very good and reasonably priced. Only drawback was getting to pool by ten thirty to see rows and rows of towels on sunloungers and yet only about four people in pool!!

We stayed a the Costa Encantada in August this year for 2 weeks. The hotel was extremely clean and there was maid service four times a week. We did go self catering but did use the restaurant a couple of times for our evening meal and it was very reasonable and very nice. The hotel is quite close to Lloret itself about a 15 minute walk. We had fantastic weather for the two weeks ideal for soaking up the sun by the large excellent pool. The pool bar was very good and reasonable and served fod and drinks. The entertainment staff were very good also the resident duo BMW, very entertaining and very hard working. There really was something for everone on this holiday and we have already booked to go back next year.

I have just returned home from our family holiday at the costa encantada. We stayed self catering at the resort for 2 weeks and had a lovely time.
The accomation and amenities were clean , comfortable and of a good size.Plenty of living and storage space. There was a kettle, toaster and cooking utensils provided in the room.
The maids changed the bed linen and towels four times a week.
The receptionists and staff ( especially Juan Carlos ) were helpful, polite and very friendly. Most speak good english.
The outside pool was a big hit with the kids. And the location of the hotel fantastic. Just a 5 min walk to fennals beach. The site shop and local supermarket had a wide selection of food on offer and at reasonable prices. The food in the resturant was delicious and was great value for money. There was a varied selection of meals available so that there was something for everybody.

However, we did have a few gripes about our stay.

Firstly, we found the entertainment to be of poor quality and very repetative ( BMW ). All of the entertainment was held inside the star bar which had limited space and restricted views of the stage because of the pillars.
There is a stage outside with ample seating, but this was never used.
As a parent of two young children who like to run around, i would have preferred this area to be used so that i could have a view of the pool area which posed a serious risk of drowning to a toddler falling in. most evening were spent running in and out of the bar to supervise the childrens play.

Secondly, there was not a lot to do at the hotel during the day, other than the swimming pool.(the indoor pool was closed all fortnight??)
After the first week, we were ready to go home. We found two weeks at the encantada too long.
Although there was a great selection of excursions available, they worked out quite costly to a family of 6.
We tried to use the kids clubs, as this was a requirement for our holiday, but the childrens club reps were not too enthusiatic about entertaining the children and gave the impression of being put out.
my youngest child is shy around new people and needed to be befriended by the reps to gain his confidence but this was not offered. As a result he spent all of his time with us.
I feel that the reps were quite childish themselves and did not seem too experienced.
Thirdly, i would advise you to take along your own tin opener as the one provided in the room was unusable and not like anything i've seen before.

on summary, if you want a good hotel complex and nice resort for your holiday, then i would recommend the Costa Encantada. If you are looking for a package holiday that has a programme of activities available to keep you and the kids entertained then i would not.

This was our first family holiday abroad & it was a fantastic experience. There was myself, my husband, 4 year old son & 9 year old daughter along with my 2 sisters, brother-in-laws, 16 year old niece & 12 year old nephew.

The complex was spotless and each evening the whole of the pool area, including sunbeds, was hosed down.
Costa Encantada is approximately a 15 minute walk from Lloret and 5 minutes from Fenals Beach. We are not massive beach fans although we did take a walk to the beach once or twice. Lots of shops for souveniers and a supermarket just a couple of minutes away.

We chose half board and were not disappointed at all. The restaurant staff were very friendly and worked very hard. The receptionist had memorised our room numbers by day 3! Breakfast was a real treat. There were 4 different cereals, as much toast as you wanted, fresh bread rolls, cold meats and cheese, fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries and full cooked.

The food on offer every evening was fab. There was a selection of cold starters and 2 soups available & a number of fish, meat, poultry, pasta and rice dishes with vegetable accompaniments on the main course hot buffet. In addition there was a further buffet of desserts with the most delicious fresh fruit portions and a selection of ice creams for the kids.

The entertainments team were absolute stars! They were talented, friendly, full of energy and grafted all the time we were there. The kids mini disco was a great way to start off the evening. Although this is a suncentre it is not the largest which meant that the entertainers got to know the kids by name. This made them feel very special. Then there would be lucky numbers (bingo) play your cards right, fun time, quizzes and much more. Our party ranged between the ages of 4 & 44 and there was definitely something for everyone.

The shows put together by the team were very entertaining. There was a disney show, dance around the world, blues brother soul sister, songs from the musicals all of which set the theme for the whole night, from the mini disco to the quiz, right through to the main show. Laura, Mickie, Angela, Alfie & Darren really worked hard regardless of what time they started or how long their shift lasted, sometimes working 15 hours in a day!!!!(We didn't see much of Ruth due to illness) Then the resident duo BMW would come on at around 11pm.They were excellent. They had plenty of energy and sang a good range of songs. Their bubbly personalities shone through and would be very comfortable sitting in the audience having a chat, as would most of the entertainments team. They really did make our holiday.

All in all we had a fab time. The only negative point I can make is that with such a fantastic first holiday, will our expectations of future holidays be too high?
