Avoid if you want an All Inclusive holiday and don't want to pay for anything as this hotel charges by the minute it seems for anything they want to.
Do not stay here.. Worst ever so called hotel I have stayed in

Take an empty water bottle with you down to breakfast and fill it up, saving you having to buy water for the day.

fenals is very pleasant resort outside main part of lloret. much quieter, but does have pubs/restaurants and plenty shops.
robin hood pub/roxy's bar is very welcoming and a change from the AI of the royal beach.
local bus runs to lloret about every 20 mins costing 90 cents and taxi to town about 5 euros.
beach is very clean, but like most in the area is gravelly sand and quite steep going into water.

The beach is a shingle beach which was a little dissapointing.
The entertainment in the resort is varied and there is something to suit everyone. If you are looking to watch football go to The Queen Vic as they have a massive outdoor srceen.

Resort Cleanliness
It wasn't spotless but it was certainly much nicer than streets in england. only problem i could find is the amount of sewage problems there seemed to be, although the problems seemed to be resolved fast enough
Resort Entertainment
There were more than enough bars/clubs to choose from with a variety of music styles. Drinks were well priced, a good night to be had all round.
Beach standard
Very disappointed with the beach. Its not a sandy beach, nor is it a pebbly one, it seems to be made purely of small sharp stones which feel like they are cutting up your feet as you walk from one place to another. Good range of water sports are offered and there are plenty of cafes close by.
Would I visit again?
When walking down the streets at night you are constantly pounced on by people handing out leaflets who are very reluctant to let you pass, to the extreme where you are pratically running toescape them. Also there seem to be plenty of people propositioning you and don't mind staring openly down your top as you walk by.
However, this is hardly a fault of the resort, and it's the same story in many other parts of Spain, so yes,I would visit this area again.

Resort is lovely. 2nd time we have stayed there, however will probably not visit again after this last experience.
The beach is nice although more gravel than sand. Spent a lot of time there and out in the resort. Lots of bars, cafes, shops and entertainment.
Fantastic walk along the coast with superb views for those who can stand a trek.
People really friendly and food good everywhere we ate out.

Beach was very clean but shingle and not sand. Plenty of sun beds, another beach about 15 minutes walk away, in the town.

Costa Brava has a very very pebbily beach, the kids didnt enjoy their time on the beach because of this. We would'nt go back beacuse once is enough.

Lloret de Mar is fine for a break. You will see everyting there is I would say in one week. However, it is well placed for visits and excursions to other parts of the Costa Brava and Barcelona. Bus from Girona Airport is around 8 euros each way and there is a regular service. The bus station serves most areas and you can get bus/train tickets to Barcelona. The beach and promenade are clean and well looked after and there are lovely little shops and cafes. There are also a good selection of more traditional tapas bars etc for those who prefer to sample local cuisine etc. There are also Burger Kings, McDonalds as well as a good selection of Indian, Chinese, Italian and Traditional Spanish Restaurants and of course loads of pubs.
Place is well policed although there is very little trouble (I have never seen any of any of my visits to Lloret or neighbouring resots).
There is a good selection of accommodation from 1* hotels, pensions and hostals to 4* hotels and resorts offering all boards. Also a good selection of self catering accommodation catering for all tastes and budgets.
There are at the back of the resort some accommodations which are reached by steep inclines which are not so suitable for the elderly or disabled (check sites like this for advive before booking.

We appreciate the time of year but the whole resort was closed no evening entertainment other than casino was open.
Def would not recommend the resort at this time of the year.

The resort has lots of shops the usual resort stuff but if you be selective you can get good deals on Italian shoes and designer labels.
The beach is very clean and well looked after.
